CCARNATIONBALL MMITTEE

For nearly 60 years, Upsilon Sigma Chapter has celebrated its annual Carnation Ball. In 2009, Judge Carl Walker introduced the Crescent Moon Awards to pay tribute to women of African descent. The Carnation Ball & Crescent Moon Awards Gala is the chapter’s signature event. In 2022, there were more than 500 people in attendance. We received an acknowledgment from the Office of the International President, Bro. Michael E. Cristal; Great Lakes Regional Director, Bro. David A. Turner; Illinois State Director, Senator Lightford, the owner of Uncle Remus Chicken, approximately 50 Cook County Judges, medical doctors and others. Thank you to our MC’s Bro. Attorney Charles Bracey, Bro. Obeddie Hawkins, Bro. Attorney Michael Jarard, and Bro. Raymond Tolbert and most of all, thank you to Brother President Appellate Court Justice Carl Walker.

The 2022 Carnation Ball & Crescent Moon Awards Gala happened on a beautiful night on October 22, 2022. We salute our chapter brothers for their work, and we are proud to have honored more than 150 women with the prestigious Crescent Moon Award in the following areas:
