Chiropractic and Functional Medicine A Natural Approach to Healthcare
Who I Am
u Dr. Gravante is currently enrolled at USF School of Medicine working on her graduate degree in Metabolic Nutritional Medicine. u In 2014, Dr. Gravante will be completing her Fellowship in Anti-Aging Regenerative Medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. u Dr. Gravante is a national speaker on Functional Medicine. u Dr. Gravante serves as an Examiner for the National Board of Chiropractic.
What I Do
Chiropractic and Functional Medicine are a perfect union in natural healthcare. Both of these healing arts focus on the cause of the problem – not just the symptom. Chiropractic’s main focus is with the biomechanical (structural) function of the body while Functional Medicine focuses on the biochemical (metabolism) of the body. Together they are a powerful synergistic approach to wellness.
How I Can Help
Dr. Gravante has had great success treating many neuromuscular skeletal conditions. The following are some of the most common issues*: u Headaches (including migraines) u Back pain u Extremity pain (shoulder, knee, etc.) u Neck pain u Sciatica Functional Medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease by using a systems-oriented approach. Functional Medicine promotes health as a positive vitality – not just the absence of disease. Functional Medicine addresses the following Chronic Metabolic Conditions, such as*: u Auto Immune u Obesity u High Cholesterol u Diabetes u Arthritis u Hypertension * More than we can list... Please call our office or visit our website for more information

in such flavors as roasted garlic, sweet chili, and, of course, the local favorite, hot. You can even have your chicken baked on a pizza along with your favorite wing sauce, ranch dressing, and blue cheese crumbles, which, according to the menu, is “buffalo wings the way they should be” You can get your bread cheesy with toppings, twisted with a side of sauce, or bathed in butter with a dusting of cinnamon and sugar. And we haven’t even gotten to the frozen yogurt yet! Since opening Stone Creek has sold over 70,000 ounces of frozen yogurt. “Many customers,” says Lisa, “come in for pizza and end up eating frozen yogurt while their pizza bakes. The yogurt is hard to resist, and it has health benefits, too.” Some flavors, such as orange cream tart, are offered lactose free so that everyone, even those with allergies to milk, can enjoy a treat. There’s a seemingly never ending buffet of toppings available as well as detailed nutritional information upon request. Although Adam and Lisa run several successful enterprises throughout the country, they are most excited working in their hometown of Lilburn. In fact, Adam’s parents live nearby and often drop by. “Sometimes they’ll call me,” he says, “and say, ‘I hope you don’t mind, but I
In February, readers of Our Town Magazine were introduced to Stone Creek Pizza and Frozen Yogurt, which had just taken over the space formerly occupied by Domino’s at the corner of Lilburn Stone Mountain and Miller roads. Before opening their first location, Ready to Go Pizza in Decatur, Lisa and Adam Kotter enlisted the help of certified master chef Derin Moore in developing a recipe for the highest quality, best tasting pizza. Stone Creek offers an extensive variety, from deep dish to thin crust, and a wide array of toppings such as sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese, and fresh spinach. In the months since opening, the veggie pizza has proven to be a customer favorite. Adam attributes this to the fact that Lilburn is a “healthminded community.” The availability of halal-certified and kosher toppings appeals to a diverse customer base and, if told ahead of time, every effort is made to meet dietary restrictions. The cheeses used at Stone Creek Pizza are vegetarian friendly, and more than one customer has pronounced their gluten-free crust the best around. From pizza to frozen yogurt, the menu has something for everyone. Wings come
noticed…’” He smiles. “They’re still watching out for me.” Both Kotters describe their latest venture as the “most fun” and “very rewarding” because of the hometown community feel. The biggest problem they had when they first opened is the best one to have. “Sales were so much higher than expected. We had to adjust staffing to meet customer demand,” Adam explained. Now, five months later, the restaurant fills orders of 30 to 40 pizzas several times per week. “Every student at Camp Creek Elementary has one of our shirts,” Lisa says with a smile, “and since we deliver, Stone Creek is a big hit at sporting events and community pools.” The next big thing for Stone Creek is breakfast. Starting June 22nd, Stone Creek will open at 6:30 a.m. instead of 11 a.m. and will add breakfast pizzas, premium coffee, and locally blended tea. “We think the biggest seller will be our egg, bacon, and sausage pizza, but we can customize with any toppings.” Stone Creek’s
eggs come from a farm within two miles of the restaurant, and are fresh, organic, and free range. Adam Kotter owns Stone Creek Pizza and Frozen Yogurt. More information at www. stonecreekpizza.com.

Our Town
From the Publisher: One Man’s Opinion @RyanSauers
I hope you are off to a great summer and enduring the heat. Man, is it hot. Note: I will be talking about how cold it is in six months. You can count on it. In this July edition, our cover story is on the amazing group at Stone Creek Pizza. We have many super feature stories from our writers as well. Our Town continues to grow each month. Why? Our Town provides a break from our “constantly connected” world and allows us a few peaceful minutes to read about our amazing community. Far too often I hear and see the negative things that are happening in our world. This is what the traditional media feeds on. You will never see this in Our Town. Your continued calls, emails, referrals, story ideas, and kind words mean a great deal to me and the Our Town team. We are making changes to our website that will make it easier to use, so please hang with us until we are done. As always, feel free to read our online version (OurTownMagOnline. com) on your phone, tablet, or computer. Stay connected with us throughout the month through our social channels, where we tweet, share info/news on Facebook, and post videos on YouTube. Check them out! Our Town provides a high-end quality product with content people want to read. It is mailed to more homes than ever and distributed to over fifteen locations that now have exclusive Our Town display shelves. And… there are more locations on the way. We are growing in both of our magazines because we provide better stories and lower advertising rates, touch readers through a variety of channels, and cover a large geographical area. This is a “true win-win” for everyone. We have amazing advertising partners who invest, believe in, and support this community. Please consider where you spend your money and choose an Our Town partner. If you love this magazine (and I know firsthand how many do), then love our advertising partners. We are excited about the future and the best is yet to come as we are already working on a Let's Compare... number of things we will announce in the near future. So, stay connected with us throughout the month. And until August, stay cool, and enjoy your summer. Finally, Be and as always: "Let's Glad this is my town, your town, Our Town!

Community Member Spotlight: Cliff Daniels of Chick-fil-A Stone Mountain By Heidi Campbell

Cliff Daniels has unknowingly been preparing to be the owner and operator of the Chick-fil-A restaurant on Stone Mountain Highway in Stone Mountain for most of his life. His father joined Chick-fil-A in 1984 in College Station, Texas, and later moved on to become the owner and operator of the Woodlawn Square store in Marietta. Daniels worked at Chick-fil-A in high school, but says that he wasn’t very good at it. “I did, however, have a heart for serving people,” he explains, “and for making friends and being resourceful.” Daniels, who graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Management, claims that he wasn’t smart enough to be an engineer. “I’m a relationship guy,” he insists modestly, “not a brains guy. I’ve always said I was good with teams and would do well in sales.” After several years in sales, he claims he never felt truly fulfilled. With the entrepreneurial spirit in his genes, Daniels realized that he wanted to own his own business, one that was fast-paced and involved relationships with people. “I wanted my business to be community driven, and I wanted the opportunity to grow a business,” recalls Daniels. “I wanted to lead from the front. I have never wanted to be behind a desk making calls.” Daniels feels he truly found his “place” when, in May of 2013, he was selected to be the owner and operator of the Stone Mountain location. Fun in the Summer Sun
TAKE THE NEXT STEP COACHING | CONSULTING | TRAINING
By Kelly Farris, ACSM CPT
GO FOR YOUR
Summer is here! It is a great time for active outside fun with your family and friends. Consider these suggestions while playing/exercising in the heat: Avoid intense exercise during the hottest part of the day. This is usually from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wear loose and light colored clothing. Breathable fabrics like cotton are best. If you are going to be exercising, try some wicking “hi-tech” fabrics that are designed to keep you cool. Sunscreen is a must. It’s important to protect your skin. You can get burned and suffer sun damage to your skin even on cloudy days. SPF 45 is usually a good median coverage number Reapply as per label suggestions. Be sure to get the little ones, too!
www.takethenextstepcct.com
Stay hydrated. Before you go out, drink a glass or two of water. Carry a bottle of water with you and have water in your coolers. While outside take a drink about every fifteen minutes, even when you’re not thirsty. Make sure to replace electrolytes after intense exercise. Have it made in the shade. When biking or running, try to choose shaded trails or pathways that keep you out of the sun. If out on open water or the beach, try to have a source of portable shade, like an umbrella or tent. Shade is important for young children. Take a peek at your weather app. Stay aware of heat/weather advisories and plan accordingly. High levels of ozone make breathing difficult for those suffering from asthma. Listen to your body. Break immediately if you feel dizzy, faint, or nauseous. Check in with your kids and your elderly regularly to monitor how they are feeling (ideafit.com). Y’all have a safe and fun summer! Learning Lessons: Launch into High School By Carol C. Wood So, you’re a rising 9th grader. As you start your launch into high school, you will adjust to a new building, attend school as the youngest, meet lots of new people, acclimate to the expectations of high school teachers, have an array of clubs and activities to participate in, and make LOTS of new friends! How exciting! As your first year begins, it is important to recognize that every course grade you earn is likely a determining factor for your future college and career plans. And, there are many tasks to complete in preparation for the college admissions process. Let’s start with utilizing the most effective and efficient study strategies. Here are just a few tips as you begin high school: • Attend all classes and be on time. Only an emergency or illness should cause you to miss class. • Select a seat where you can pay close attention to the teacher’s instruction and directions. If the student next to you is a distraction, find another place to sit, or privately ask the teacher to move you. • Know each teacher’s course website where he or she posts homework assignments, projects, due dates, test dates, etc. You are
responsible to keep up with each course and each teacher’s expectations. • Consistently use only one agenda – either electronic or paper – where you notate due dates, test dates, activities, etc. • Take detailed, legible class and study notes. If you are absent from school, ask a classmate for a copy of his or her notes. • Find a study buddy for classes that present the most challenge to you. Ideally, this person is another responsible student like yourself! • Select a study space at home where you can concentrate and remain focused. • Exhibit good behavior management by turning all forms of technology OFF while studying. Technology time-out is necessary for quality learning time! • Read assignments thoroughly and re-read when necessary to fully grasp the content. • Do all homework assigned and MORE by drilling and practicing each day’s class material. In other words, master a little at a time, rather than cramming weeks of material into one night before a major test. Carol Wood is Owner of Total Learning Concepts, Inc. Music on Main Street Brings Lessons, Entertainment, and Heart to the Lilburn Community By Heidi Campbell Music on Main Street, settled in the historic white house at 113 Main Street, will celebrate its fourth year in Lilburn on August 22nd. The house, built in 1895, has been transformed into a music nirvana, both inside and out. Every inch of the property has been thoughtfully restored and resurrected in order to bring music to the community. “We kept everything intact,” says Scott Mecredy, who, along with his wife Alicia, owns and operates the business. “We even used the bricks from the old chimney to build into the front of the stage. We repurposed everything to maintain its history.” Soon after graduating with an art degree from Radford University in Virginia, Mecredy and his brother wrote up a business plan for a music business, but set it aside to pursue other interests. While driving his daughters to soccer practice one afternoon, Mecredy spotted the house. “I didn’t exactly choose Lilburn,” he recalls. “It chose me! I drove by this place, and it was like angels singing and lights flashing over the building! ‘That’s the place!’ I remember thinking!” Music on Main, affectionately referred to as MOMS, offers a full range of musical services, including lessons, instruments, repairs, weddings, and live music. The weddings, set on the beautiful, tranquil grounds, can accommodate the most intimate events as well as the most lavish. The crux of the business, however, is in the music lessons that they offer. Twelve teachers offer lessons for piano, drums, strings, guitars, horns, and vocals. Keeping it simple, all lessons are offered at a flat monthly rate of $125. One of their teachers, Ric Seymour, is a member of the famous band Wet Willie. According to Mecredy, Ric is “… known as a Rock and Roll god, but comes in here and teaches the flute!” Other famous musicians have shown their support as well. The “Fare Thee Well Summer Music Camp by Music on Main Street,” which will kick off its third year this June with thirty campers, will feature the musical expertise of Oteil Burbridge of the Allman Brothers. Colonel Bruce Hampton takes the stage twice each summer, and last year he brought Johnny Knapp, who has played with Miles Davis and Aretha Franklin. Music on Main is a business that believes in giving back to the community. They run the sound for numerous cancer benefits each year, as well as such Lilburn events as the International Festival, the Relay Rally, the Christmas parade, and the Lilburn Daze festival. They also provide support for the local schools – running the sound for Arcado’s Fun Run, bringing a band to Trickum Middle School, sponsoring Parkview’s marching band, and donating reeds and supplies to numerous programs. Mecredy volunteers tirelessly for events that benefit cancer research after losing his mother to cancer in 2010. He recalls talking to his dad about the Lilburn house after her passing. “While going through some of Mom’s things, Alicia found a pendant with a penny in it,” he remembers. “She asked my dad what was special about it, and he said he didn’t know – she had worn it for years. Dad again asked about the house, and I told him it was old –built in 1895. Alicia suddenly realized that 1895 was the year on the penny that my mother wore! Dad chose that moment to tell us to go and buy the property…and that’s why this place is called MOMS,” Mecredy concludes. “We are doing exactly what she would have hoped for.” More information at http://www.musiconmainstreetlilburn.com

Why? By Jane Bishop, Life Coach/Speaker It is common for us to hear, “Investigators now want to know why.” Answering “why” provides clarity. When there is clarity, there is cause, purpose, or reason. Asking “why” can also evoke frustration. During a child’s formative years, “why” may become irritating. As the brain develops and a child begins to reason, it is natural to ask the proverbial “why” a lot! They are simply looking for a reason, cause, or purpose. As the child ages, the question is often expanded: “Why do I have to do this?” or, “Why can’t I go?” Somewhere along the journey of life, we tend to stop asking “why” and focus on “what” and “how.” By overlooking the “why,” purpose is not clear. Without purpose, there is no passion. Without passion, there is no vision for living4ward. Simon Sinek has developed The Golden Circle to encourage leaders and organizations to start with the why. Most organizations know what they do and how they do it. “Very few organizations know WHY they do what they do. WHY is not about making money. That’s a result. It’s a purpose, cause or belief. It’s the very reason your organization exists” (Sinek). The Golden Circle challenges a person to think from the inside out rather than the outside in. It starts with right to left thinking. For example, visualize standing in the future; then work out in the present how to get there. When you “harness the power of Why, you create high performance through connecting people to a higher, common purpose” (Peter Docker). Ask yourself, “Why do I do what I do?” For me, why do I coach? A: Everyone deserves the opportunity to live4ward. Coaching changes perceptions, which changes action, which changes results. Keeping the “why” alive and clear fuels my passion for helping others achieve their “it.” What is your why? Jane Bishop is Owner/CEO of Take The Next Step. Q&A with Nikhat Nizarali, Owner of The Tutoring Center in Lawrenceville
Regular Service Times Saturday 5 pm Sunday 8:30, 9:45 & 11:00 am All services have communion.
By Stacye Carroll Our Town Gwinnett (OTG): How did growing up in the Parkview cluster prepare you for what you do now? The Tutoring Center (TTC): I understand the benefits and challenges of being a student in the largest school system in Georgia. When parents share stories of their struggles, my firsthand experience helps me relate to the child’s situation. OTG: How did you go from your childhood dream of being an attorney to being a tutor/teacher? TTC: I chose teaching/tutoring not because it was similar to my childhood dream, but because it was remarkably different. Toward the end of college, I began to reevaluate the lifestyle I wanted as an adult, the way I wanted to develop my character, and what I wanted to give back to the community. Although I still have great respect for the legal profession, I realized it was not the best fit for me. After earning my Bachelor’s degree at Emory, I went on to get a double Masters at the University of London. I have a Master’s in Education and in Teaching. I found my inner peace when working with children. I am happy working in a space where I can practice compassion, empathy, friendliness, and the general positive values I have been raised with. Carrying these good feelings home with me at the end of the day makes my job worthwhile.

One on One with: Walker Haynes HAMLET’S GHOST, a sci-fi time travel film that examines the possibility of a parallel existence, written and directed by Walker Haynes, a native of Lilburn, showcases a myriad of home grown talent and traverses familiar Georgia settings, including picturesque lakes, Georgia pines, the personal home of the Mayor of Lilburn, and historical sites like the Wynn-Russell House, and the famous Springer Opera House in Columbus. Walker grew up in Lilburn, and attended Killian Hill Christian School. He studied acting at Bryan College in Tennessee, and went on to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. His love for acting and Shakespeare grew out of this experience, and a story idea surrounding one of Shakespeare’s plays began to emerge in Walker’s head. Hamlet’s Ghost, part Shakespeare, part time-travel, part history, and all mystery, tells the story of Judge Vaughn (played by Walker), a modern Shakespearean actor who must travel back in time to confront enigmatic forces from the past and future. Walker chose to shoot much of this film in Georgia because of the accessibility of the area. Making Hamlet’s Ghost was a huge learning experience for Walker. The film was premiered at the Marché du Film at the Festival de Cannes in May of 2014, and has since been selected to screen at film festivals around the world. Additionally, Hamlet’s Ghost received the Dove Foundation’s Seal of Approval for family viewing, ages twelve and up, an important accomplishment, as Walker is committed to producing quality, family entertainment. The Atlanta Cast & Crew Premiere of Hamlet’s Ghost will take place on Wednesday, July 8th at 7:30 p.m. at the Carmike 12, 905 Scenic Hwy, Snellville, GA, US, 30078, with a Q & A with Walker and the local cast and crew in attendance immediately after the screening. Tickets can only be purchased online, and will be available up until three hours before the event takes place. For more information, and to purchase tickets, visit https://www.tugg.com/go/rzsfje. Cliff Daniels Continued from page 8 year, he believes he is in great shape with his current staff. “I see myself as the entrepreneurial steward of Chick-fil-A’s resources,” Daniels explains. “I’m here to ensure that we hire the right people, train them well, and grow the business.” This year, Daniels’ focus is on systems and processes. He believes that “you get bigger by getting better,” and intends to fine-tune the operation. His store is on pace to receive the coveted “CFA Symbol of Success” which is based on sales growth. His restaurant vision and sales approach stems from a conversation he had with Dan Cathy, CEO of Chick-fil-A, while on a plane. “Dan Cathy asked me if my ears were popping,” recalls Daniels. “I told him, ‘Of course- we’re at 30,000 feet!’” Cathy’s lesson for Daniels was that you must constantly look at the business from both 30,000 feet and 3 feet. If an operator’s business ears weren’t popping, that operator wouldn’t be able to achieve the results desired. Daniels took that to heart, and has focused on servant leadership from the ground and long-term vision casting from the air. In Daniels’ first year, sales grew by 12%. This year, they will grow 20%, which Daniels says, “…is a reflection of the right people and systems we now have in place.” Generosity and giving back to the local community are the core values that Daniels believes in for his business. “We donate 10% of our sales to Mountain Park Elementary School’s spirit nights once a month. We also give coupons to local teachers, we sponsor the Hotcakes and Hoops for the Parkview High School basketball program, and just recently formed a new community partnership with Annistown Elementary.” The spirit of giving is found in all the local Chick-fil-A restaurants, which Daniels realized when he initiated a local drive for one of his team members who suffered a concussion while playing basketball for her high school. The concussion had devastating effects, preventing her from accepting her college scholarship opportunities. She needed to see a specialist in Pittsburg, so Daniels got all the other Chick-fil-A’s in the area to put out collection jars for a week, and they had a very successful spirit night which gave the team member the opportunity to see the specialist. The trip was miraculous, and not only has the team member been given a clean bill of health, she’s even been promoted to manager. Daniels, his wife Jenny, and their two children are thrilled to live and work in Gwinnett County. “I love that the families in this community are hard-working, encouraging, and teaching their children a great work ethic,” he says with contagious optimism. “I plan on staying here a long time. I’m building something that I’m really proud of.”

Prevent Summer Injuries
By Julie Mills-Watson, LMT, LLCC Warmer weather is finally here, and I hope you are get ting out and enjoying it! Summer is such a great opportunity to have fun with family and friends. I vote that we turn off all electronics and go outside! Are you coming? Of course, in order to enjoy the great outdoors, we usually have to maintain the great outdoors. That’s where & yard work, house maintenance, and clean up comes in. If you’re a weekend warrior, then strained muscles, chemical exposure, and too much sun can also come into play. Did you know that home accidents lead to more injuries than sports? When you’re playing sports, you warm up, tape up, train, and concentrate on body mechanics. Around the house, you jump in with both feet and with out looking back – until something pops! I encourage you to treat your yard work like you would a sport and take care of your body before, during, and after your task. Outdoor maintenance activities carry such risks as upper and lower back strain, neck strain, shoulder pain, and sunburn. You can avoid straining yourself by warming up with ten minutes of stretching exercises for the whole body, maintaining good posture by keeping legs, not your back straight and your head up while raking or mowing, and lifting with your your back. Use your body weight to move objects, take breaks, pace yourself, and whenever your body feels tired, take a respite. Drink lots of water because staying hydrated keeps your muscles lubricated and helps avoid injury. Wear sun-protection, and invest in a hat, sun block one, and and protective glasses. Tackle a few different types of yard work instead of just change tasks regularly to prevent repetitive strain injury of certain muscle groups. Yard work can be very rewarding. If you are a weekend warrior like me, take a few minutes and tackle those projects using common sense and good judgement. Now, enjoy the great outdoors in your own back yard! Up Close with: Mayor Judy Johnson of City Of Lawrenceville By Perry Rosenbaum A city is only as great as its inhabitants – and its elected officials. Successful local businesses, school systems that yield intelligent and well-adjusted people, and enticing events meant to spur tourism are not possible without proper guidance and stewardship from those voted into office. Judy Johnson, the mayor of Lawrenceville since 2011, knows this to be true, and she strives to make her city as upstanding and admirable as possible. “I think strong communities make great cities. Community outreach is very important to me, and I always try to interact with as many people around town as possible.” Johnson, who has lived in Lawrenceville her entire life and graduated from Central Gwinnett High, spent several years on the city council before being elected as mayor. “My tenure as a city councilwoman…made the transition to mayor easier,” she says. “While on the council, I dealt with budgets, zonings and voted on issues. As mayor, I still have plenty of input with all of those facets. However, I now have much more interaction with other mayors, county officials, the legislative delegation, and the Gwinnett Chamber.” Johnson works with these other bodies quite effectively to make Lawrenceville even greater than the sum of its parts. While the city offers plenty of options in terms of entertainment, Johnson has one specific destination in mind when she’s looking for a great time around town. “My favorite attraction [in Lawrenceville],” she says, “is the Aurora Theatre, with the outdoor concerts on the Lawrenceville Lawn a very close second.” Moreover, Johnson makes a point of mentioning even more familyfriendly activities offered in Lawrenceville, especially during the summer. “On the first Friday of each month, Lawrenceville hosts Friday Nights Live [where] citizens can stroll around downtown and participate in various activities,” she states. These evenings give people of all ages and interests a fantastic way to unwind and have fun without having to travel too far after a long week. The Aurora Theatre typically puts on plays and musicals that endlessly enthrall audiences. The Gwinnett Braves, who make their home in Lawrenceville, give baseball fans a chance to see current and future Atlanta Braves in action. As any resident of the city will tell you, the convenience of having so many fun choices makes Lawrenceville that much more of a pleasant city to live in. Johnson says she most relishes the opportunity to boost Lawrenceville’s reputation while speaking to outsiders. “I am always eager to tell people about our city…I think my biggest impact as mayor has been building excitement and interest in visiting Lawrenceville throughout the rest of the state.” More information at www.lawrencevillega.org.

Q&A with Nikhat Nizarali Continued from page 13 this manner than spend money on flashy advertising campaigns. Word-of-mouth growth validates the good we are doing through our business. OTG: Can you tell us a little more about “The Rotational Approach to Learning”? TTC: The Rotational Approach was first developed by our founder, Dr. Edward Thalheimer, to help children with attention, behavioral, and learning problems. Research revealed that students who learned in shorter increments, with a varied set of materials, maximized their academic performance and concentration dramatically! At our center, the students rotate between stations, working with different program materials and a different instructor. This physical and intellectual rotation helps with focus and efficiency.
We guarantee that we can raise a child’s skills one full grade level in 40 sessions. Regular testing assures parents that their child’s progress is aligned with this goal. We are the only center employing strategies that actively improve a child’s concentration, focus, and attention span. We work on these skills during every session. These strategies also help children develop stronger test-taking and study skills. We do everything we can to create an environment that students ENJOY! I can’t count how many times parents have told me that ours is the first tutoring center that their child hasn’t complained about attending!

OTG: What instructional advantages does one receive at The Tutoring Center compared to traditional after-school programs or help from parents? TTC: The best way for a parent to learn about our advantages is to come by and visit our center so I can have a discussion and conduct an informal tour. We offer one-to-one instruction with a highly qualified instructor. Our approach eliminates competition for attention, increases confidence and self-esteem, and ensures that every minute of our session is used efficiently. Our programs are not a “quick-fix” for a bad grade. We focus on long-term solutions to a child’s struggles in school. Our free Diagnostic Assessment and Test Consultation allow us to identify the child’s strengths and skill gaps before we make recommendations. The program is customized to address identified weaknesses.
