LIFE MADE COMFORTABLE – WHEREVER YOU ARE In the world we live in, where distances between cultures and ideas are diminishing as the opportunity to travel is easier and faster than ever before, it is important to have certain strongholds in life. As a Danish furniture design company, we try to give every piece of furniture in our collection functionality and aesthetic expression that mirror the essence of our own culture.

Danish designers are fortunate to have a rich heritage of design culture to draw upon and we feel privileged to work with some of the best of our times. They create furniture with the clean lines, honest feel and ever-present functionality Danish design is famous for. Even more important though is that these designers have managed to incorporate our philosophy and our values into each piece.

Our goal with our furniture is to make life comfortable.

This philosophy spans over many aspects from designing a product, over social responsibility and sustainability during production, to the obvious comfort and convenience in every day use.

Our customer’s demands and our efforts result in a collection of furniture that suits your needs and moods.

This year, we are again introducing new designs complemented with splashes of bright colours and practical accessories.

This means that no child labour is allowed and that wage levels are fair and in accordance with local legislation. FOERSOM & HIORT-LORENZEN MDD For many years, two of Scandinavia’s most successful and renowned furniture designers have been designing timeless classics for Cane-line, encapsulating in full our philosophy: Life Made Comfortable.

Johannes Foersom and Peter Hiort-Lorenzen never compromise on comfort or visual expression. Years of experience and their strong skills reveal themselves in details of exceptional high standards, both in quality and craftsmanship.

For this season, the dynamic duo has designed the elegant Core dining set and the flexible Traveller folding chair. The soft curves of the Core table raise classic teak furniture to a new level. Both the Core dining chair and the Traveller folding chair are created with a quilted seat and back of Cane-line TexÂŽ, making cushions obsolete and life even more comfortable. The conical shaped pipes of the frame of any of the three products are not only a beautiful design feature but actually make the table and the chairs strong and hardwearing in spite of their light appearance.

Their impressive use of flexibility makes the furniture appear as small architectonic wonders. Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen are always at the leading edge of market needs and trends. A design duo that blend aesthetics, comfort and quality to perfection.

STRAND+HVASS

RIKKE FROST

Christina Strand (MDD) and Niels Hvass (MAA) are part of the new generation of significant Scandinavian designers. With their Breeze Collection, which has been growing since 2009, they have hit the bull’s-eye of Cane-line design, matching the human need for well-being with the furniture’s full potential.

The joint history of Cane-line and industrial designer Rikke Frost took its beginning in 2007. Rikke Frost was working on the refurbishment of a resort on the Caribbean island of Anguilla when she came in touch with Cane-line.

The strong weave provides natural ventilation for the body and leads light through, so the chair decorates and complements the outdoor living area. The light models and the airy look do not easily give away the complete comfort that encompasses the design.

After the successful launches of both the award-winning On-the-Move (2012) and the sleek Time-Out coffee tables (2013), this innovative duo has again worked with aluminum to create the Chill Out table series for the 2014 collection.

The large Chill Out coffee table delights the user with its individually lifting table top - gone are the days of hunching over a coffee table meal! The small practical Chill Out nesting tables are lightweight yet sturdy and have a modern timeless look to them, making them a great companion in any setting.

Think out of the box and even use them as alternative stools!

Always taking the human aspect and the way we live as their point of departure, Strand+Hvass again and again manage to combine expression, shape and material to perfection.

This encounter produced the spectacular sunbed Escape, beautifully designed and fully recognising the need for sunny days. With its stylish look, adjustable back and comfortable shape, this sunbed has become a popular item worldwide and a permanent piece in the Cane-line Collections.

JESPER K. THOMSEN The strong team has been enlarged with the industrial designer Jesper K. Thomsen. The experienced capacity is known for creating simplified designs that solve complex challenges. With roots in in the Danish design tradition, Jesper K. Thomsen has created Cave, a stylish remake of the classic canopied swing sofa. The material is customized and maintenance-free weave in a quiet and warm colour. Design and details ensure the convenience which the model itself invites to.

CANE-LINE DESIGN TEAM The Cane-line designers share deep roots in the Danish design tradition built on craftsmanship, quality and a simple yet distinctive expression. At the same time, this complies with the Cane-line course that is gaining grounds globally.

The Nordic light flourishes in every single design, as does the love for precious outdoor moments. This foundation makes it easy for our strong team of designers to live up to the essence of Cane-line - Life Made Comfortable.

UNIQUE COMFORT EASY CLEANING WEATHERPROOF DURABLE QUALITY

Maintenance-free WATER-RESISTANT & EASY TO CLEAN

All Cane-line models are made of unique materials.

The Cane-line fibre is a dyed, hard-wearing polyethylene, and Cane-line Tex® is a coated polyester sling material. The materials withstand large temperature differences and the change of seasons.

“ To optimise your special time and place for leisure and pleasure, all our furniture is maintenance-free and weatherproof. Therefore you can spend time on more interesting things.”

All furniture is UV-resistant, colourfast and resistant to water and frost damage. Nevertheless, we recommend that furniture is placed indoors during winter or covered with one of our matching covers. In principle, the entire outdoor collection is maintenance-free, but ordinary cleaning of your furniture will keep it looking sharp for years and most definitely prolong its lifetime.

CLEANING One of the best ways to keep fabrics (cushions) looking good and to delay deep or vigorous cleaning is to properly maintain the fabrics regularly.

This can be accomplished by simply brushing off dirt before it becomes embedded in the fabrics, wiping up spills as soon as they occur or spot cleaning soon after stains occur.

Many stains can be removed from the fabric with mild soap and lukewarm water. Mix mild soap and lukewarm water and remove the stain with a sponge or soft bristle brush. Be sure to rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue and then allow the fabric to air-dry by placing the cushion in an up-right position.

MATERIALS & CLEANING

CANE-LINE WEAVE® All the woven furniture in the collection is hand-made using Cane-line’s unique fibres. The fibres are maintenance-free and we recommend cleaning the products with ordinary household cleaners and water. The furniture can be left outside all year long. To ease cleaning, the furniture can be stored under our Covers in winter or when not in use for longer periods of time.

CANE-LINE TEX® Cane-line Tex® is a coated polyester sling fabric excellent for outdoor use. After exposure to rain or dew, place cushions with the perforation facing down, so water and moisture can escape easily. We recommend using a Cover when not in use for longer periods of time. Essential when storing Tex® furniture inside or outside is good air circulation and the ability for water and moisture to be able to escape. Tex® furniture and cushions can be cleaned with water and ordinary household cleaners using a middle to hard brush.

CANE-LINE ROPE This thermoplastic fibre is maintenance-free and can be cleaned easily using ordinary household cleaners. Avoid pulling/pushing the elastic material too hard as this may cause it to lose its shape on the furniture.

The furniture can be left outside all year long. Using furniture Covers will ease spring cleaning.

GLASS Glass table tops are produced of 8 mm toughened glass. They are maintenance-free and can be left outside all year round. For daily cleaning, ordinary household cleaners and water can be used. It is important not to scratch the film from underneath the frosted glass tops.

TEAK Teak table tops are supplied untreated and will develop a patina over time.

If you wish to treat your teak table top, we recommend using teak oil - this will make the wood darker. To ease spring cleaning you can store your teak table under a Cover.

SLATE Slate table tops are made from natural slate tiles and must be treated with a natural stone sealer before use to make them resistant to dirt and weather. Slate table tops are not frost proof and must therefore be stored indoors during the winter.

HPL / HIGH PRESSURE LAMINATE Compact laminate is a very suitable material for outdoor use. The table top is made from resin-impregnated paper, which is compressed under very high pressure to a strong board with a scratchresistant surface. These table tops require basically no maintenance and can remain outdoors all year round. Compact laminate will naturally get a bit lighter at

the edges over time. In order to maintain the deep black colour of the edges, they can be freshened up by rubbing a little linseed oil on them. It is recommended that you cover the table with a furniture cover in the autumn and winter period.

TRAVERTINE Travertine is a natural limestone with small, natural cavities, giving it a rustic look. It also has lovely, natural variations in colour. No two travertine tiles are ever identical. It is advisable to store travertine indoors during the winter to prevent frost damage. The tiles have been treated at delivery, but it is advisable to wipe up any spills, for example of red wine, immediately.

CERAMIC The ceramic tops / tiles are made of porcelain, which is an extremely strong material that can be left outdoors all year round. They are made using natural materials, so there may be small colour variations between the tops / tiles. The tiles can be cleaned with ordinary household cleaners and water.

STAINLESS STEEL Stainless steel is extremely weather proof and can be left outside all year long. However, tarnishing can occur in form of flash rust. This can be removed using a stainless steel cleaner. Regular cleaning with soapy water can help to protect the surface of the stainless steel and so minimize the effects of chlorine, etc. It is also advisable to wipe the base with acid-free oil at least twice a year to minimize tarnishing.

FIBER CONCRETE Fiber concrete is a mixture of cement and quartz sand to which fiberglass has been added. This combination produces a very light, strong table top with a contemporary appearance. As the table tops are cast and finished individually, each one is unique, i.e. there are variations in shading and no two table tops are exactly the same. It is advisable to protect the table top with a suitable cover or store it in a lean-to during the winter. The tops are treated with a sealer upon delivery but the treatment must be refreshed regularly. Daily cleaning is with ordinary household cleaners and water.

RESIN The Resin table top is made from casted polyester composite. The tops require minimal care and maintenance and can be left outside all year long. Daily cleaning can be done with ordinary household cleaners and water.

ALUMINUM All aluminum products are powder coated for extra durability. They require a minimum of maintenance and can be left outside all year round. To clean, use ordinary household cleaners and water.

THE CANE- LINE WEAVE® UK Cane-line Weave® is a fibre made of dyed and hard-wearing polyethylene.

Its water-resistant features make it withstand larges temperature differences and excellent for outdoor use. The structure of the fibres and the weave provide flexibility and optimum comfort. This material is hard-wearing and UV-resistant and is overall maintenance-free. Weave is made to withstand weather conditions all over the world and the material maintains its colours and shape for years on end.
