WHO WE ARE
Outdoor For Schools specialise in manufacturing and installing playground equipment, furniture and solutions to enable children to play and learn outside. We are a trading division of A&E Leisure Ltd, a Reading-based manufacturer with our own factory and depots nationwide.

This enables a smooth transition from the design and development of your initial ideas through to manufacture and installation.

Shade Sails are a stylish and striking alternative to awnings and umbrellas, giving a superb visual effect. Posts can be in metal or timber to blend in with the environment and existing buildings can be used via bracket connection if suitable.
Our sails are manufactured to order in a variety of shapes, sizes and fixing options. We can produce standard squares, rectangles and triangles, or alternatively maximise the coverage in your area with custom polygonal shapes.
FABRIC
We use Soltis 86 for our shade sails, blocking up to 93% of the heat. Packed with globally patented technology this engineered textile is the undisputed market leader for quality shade sails.

Stobag Terrace Awnings are ideal for schools, providing shade in fine weather and shelter in rain. We fit wind sensors to all our awnings to retract the cover in high winds to protect your people and your investment.

ASCOT SHELTERS
Ascot Shelters are a superb way of increasing your usable outdoor area. The canopies provide UV50+ shade in the sun and high-level water resistance from rain. Made in our UK factory, they are available in a wide range of standard sizes and can also be made to measure to suit any special requirements you may have.
TIMBER FRAME
Manufactured at our UK factory, we can construct a wide range of sizes. The redwood timber is protected with outdoor grade Sadolin stain or Superdec paint allowing a choice of colours and finishes.
The membrane frabric is a strong acrylic 300g/m, UV50+, Lightfast 7-8, Scotchguard or Teflon treated. Available in a wide range of colours.
There is a range of optional extras to tailor Ascot Shelters to your exact needs.

SAFETY SURFACES
For Play Equipment with a free fall height more than 600mm, an impact attenuating safety surface is required for compliance with BS EN1176. We supply and install a range of options to suit your play area and budget.
PLAY BARK
A natural safety surface solution that can be installed using either a raised or sunken pit, however it needs regular maintenance and topping up.
RUBBER MATTING OVER GRASS
Grass grows through the matting installed and over time can be mown normally. The matting reinforces a grass surface, which can be used as an impact attenuating surface up to 1.5m fall height. Consider using mats in high traffic areas such as entry and exit points developing worn, muddy patches.
SYNTHETIC PLAY GRASS
Easily laid onto a prepared surface, it needs very little maintenance and is guaranteed for five years. The surface is sterile and will not graze the skin.
WET POUR
We undertake the groundwork, preparation and laying of the wet pour rubber safety surfacing. Wet pour may be laid in black or a variety of colours and mixes. Wet pour graphics can also be installed to bring an area to life.
BONDED RUBBER MULCH
Available in a range of colours, the bonded rubber mulch requires minimal groundwork preparation and can be installed directly onto grass or existing hard surfaces.

CORPUS CHRISTI HIGH SCHOOL

The school wanted to bring this large, unused, and overgrown internal courtyard back to life. They wanted a space where the children could enjoy the outdoor air, a place to eat their lunch and spend time with friends.

Clearing the area including the removal of old paving slabs, installation of a new drainage system. We laid a large artificial grass area and installed of Ascot shelters and shade sails for cover and shade. Water was the key focal point around which the final design centred. It included a water pump, flumes, spirals and buckets to offer the children interactive water play.
All the play equipment was designed, built and installed in our UK factory by our own schools team.
