creatively designed A different approach to planning your outdoor kitchen Erik & Julien were childhood friends who had worked in the outdoor industry the majority of their careers. Rather than trying to do it all, they have managed to carve out a niche creating the design and structure of kitchens/BBQs and are really good at what they do. Working with the customer every step of the way, they visit the site to discuss design and functionality to ensure it fits the customer’s needs. They use digital 3D designs to give the customer a visual representation of what the finished product will look like before it’s installed. Once the plan is complete, they get to work and build the design offsite which usually averages 4-6 days. That’s fast! They work with a network of other professionals who can assist with the next steps of adding counters, tile and all the other finishing touches that make it yours. Did we mention these guys also build and design custom fireplace and fire pits too? Their attention to detail and passion for what they do definitely set these guys apart from the rest!

The homeowners of this historical home in the Poverty Ridge area of Sacramento really wanted to modernize their second level deck which sits atop their garage. They had previously installed a custom steel structure and had adorned it with some nice lighting, but the space was calling for more! Design by Misha elevated the style and the ambiance of this existing space with custom glide shades from Pacific Shade Sails in white to give a reflective quality when illuminated at night. The white also lends itself to an airy feel as the curtains sway in the Sacramento delta breezes. Wanting to keep the space clean and modern to play off the homeowner's modern style, we brought in furniture in a black, white, and grey palette with pops of bright orange. We finished off the space with easy to care for succulents, a grill, and a Green Egg. Now this space is perfect for relaxing and dining with friends and family while watching the beautiful summer sunsets. Misha Bloom Lindsey

STAY COOL
& SUMMER ON Written by Becky Horan—Outdoor Space Designs
Dip you Feet Use thin, outdoor chair cushions to create a comfy seat on the concrete edge of the pool when cooling your feet. A wire basket keeps them neatly organized and easily available on your pool deck.
Summer Hacks get your backyard summer ready
Dripping Misters Those little nozzles on your mister hoses can become clogged with gunk and grime. When they do, you will see more drips than mist coming from them. Unscrew the nozzles and soak them in vinegar for about 30-45 mins, rinse well and replace. Your misters will be back to misting in no time.
Outdoor Shower/Changing Area
Love your pool, but hate having wet feet tracked through your house to the bathroom? Consider setting up a designated changing area outside. Decorative screens and panels can create quick privacy. Even better, create an outdoor shower. If you have plumbing near by, you may be able to install a shower head on the side of your house. There are also several free standing solar options on the market that require only a garden hose.
Pool Organization Pool floaties, towels, sunscreen and pool toys can quickly clutter up your pool area. Keep organized by using bins, baskets, or cabinets to keep items tucked away when not in use. Hang decorative hooks or hook racks on your fence, trees or on a post to hang wet towels to dry.

Did the summer heat catch you by surprise a little early this year? We are all feeling it and trying to find ways to keep cool. It is a little late in the game to decide to put in that pool you’ve been putting off. Adding a misting system to your yard could be the solution to help you while hosting your summer barbeques! They can reduce the temperature by up to 40 degrees Fahrenheit!
When you decide to put in a pool there are many different factors that decide how much it will cost, such as size and whether it is fiberglass, concrete, or gunite. On average this can be anywhere from $10,000 to $100,000.
As far as installation goes, Mistscaping would be a much quicker process than installing a pool. On average a pool could take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to install or it could take many months. This does NOT include time to get a permit or how busy the pool company may be, because lets face it‌.everyone else waited until the last minute to get their pool installed too! California Mistscaping cuts out a lot of the hassle.
Call today to get your Mistscaping installed before summer is over!
Keep cool without a pool
A properly installed misting system can cool your space by up to 40 degrees. You and your guests will appreciate it.

We live in a community that controls the watering system in our front yard. As a result of the drought and lack of water, our whole community suffered greatly from this, including our little front yard. You can see what it looked like in the photo above at the beginning of this year, all of the grass is dead and gone. We had the option to replace the grass with something else, but our design options given to us by our HOA didn’t make sense and would consume more water than installing drought tolerant grass. So we elected to call Delta Bluegrass Company and ordered up their famous Bolero Plus ™ grass and installed it. I have to say, I am more than pleased with the outcome of this project. We now have the best looking front yard in our community of 1,200 homes.
Before Thank you to Delta Bluegrass Company for helping us choose the right product that not only looks fantastic, but needs less water than the grass we had before. I know we will enjoy the beautiful green grass from many years to come.

What You’ll Need: Pallet Wood, Tape Measure, Nail Gun, Saw, Stain (Optional), Liner, Staple Gun, Succulents & Dirt, Rocks or shells, Candle Holder (Optional) Step 1 Cut out all of your pieces for your centerpiece. We cut our bottom and longest sides to 32”. Then we cut our two end pieces to fit.
Step 2 Nail together your centerpiece starting with your longest pieces and doing the short ends last. We used clamps to hold the pieces together tightly while we did this so that everything stayed lined up! Step 3 If you are planning to stain your centerpiece like we did, now is the time to do it! Then add your liner to the inside of the planter using your staple gun!
Step 4 Add your dirt and start planting! Make sure to leave spaces for your candle holders. Once you have everything planted you’ll add your rocks or shells.
How to Propagate Your Succulents! 1. Remove the leaf from your stem carefully. Make sure to maintain the complete leaf without leaving parts remaining on the stem. 2. Let your leaves dry for 1 to 3 days. Not all of your leaves will survive this stage so make sure you pick plenty of leaves! 3. Place the dried leaves on the soil. You will be able to watch the propagation as it occurs and the roots will make their way down to the soil themselves. 4. Gently water the leaves with a light spray for the first time (It is important that the leaves are completely dry before spraying them or they will start to rot). After that lightly water the soil only when it becomes dry. 5. Now you watch as your leaves start to sprout roots and new leaves!
