Star Amerasu started her performance career in San Francisco in the queer arts and theatre scene. Early on, she was tasked with creating the soundtrack to the Outfest LA ‘16 Audience Award-winning documentary MAJOR! which explores the life and campaigns of Miss Major GriffinGracy, a formerly incarcerated Black transgender elder and activist. Shortly after she created her indie music project Ah-Mer-Ah-Su.

After a string of critically acclaimed EPs, her debut full length album Star was voted as one of the Top 20 LGBT albums of 2018 by Billboard. Her music collaborations have been used in commercials, dance, film, theater, and social media. She continues to record and release new music, and views herself as a storyteller first and foremost. Currently, she is working on more narrative forms of expression and returning to her roots as an actor. Simultaneous to these many talents, she also is a world renowned DJ, walked seasons at NY and LA Fashion Weeks, and is a modern tastemaker.
