A common theme of Hartmut Veit’s embodied explorations are issues of perception – he is interested in the search for a different level of perception, which draws on the more illusory aspects of human experience, often untapped through our usual approach to consciousness.

Memory Paths II is part of an ongoing multimedia project. This phase is based upon the stories of people from diverse cultural backgrounds, including the Indigenous and South Sea Islander communities and later waves of Maltese migrants, all of whom make up significant parts of the community today. Local artists Donna Maree Robinson, Tracey Johnson and Fiona Bishop-Vuibeqa teamed up in 2012 to create a new media work as a contribution to Mackay’s 150th Anniversary. History being a kaleidoscope of many points of view, the artists interviewed long term locals from the above communities and collected first person accounts of their memories and experiences, as their lives have made up the fabric of the history of the region.

As you can see in my artwork we have meeting places for our people to meet and talk about what we want for the community. The footprints are people walking to the center of the shields were both aboriginals and committees will meet to discuss about what we want for everyone to build a good future for the community. The walking paths leading up to each different circles repersents meeting places for my people like ( mens and women business ,ceremony, hunting place, gathering food ). Traditional designs i uesd such as lines and flowing curves in many my artworks and the Men repersents trinagles shapes and women are circles on many of our artfacts, painteds, you would seen lines lines and flowing curves on them becuase thats the aborignal people of Victoria Gippsland,S/E Australia and how we tell our storie thought art. Pelican (Booran) is our dreamtime story that i told over at a school in japan, in must of my artworks i paint pelican (booran) in the artwork its brings me back the dreamtime and were im from. yaail.org/ronald-edwards-biography

Where I Am From
The footage I would like to present for the Winter Festival is a very short video and audio recording from my phone pad. The video presents several large blocks of ice stacked on top of a 1 metre high tank stand where the ice melts into 10 tin buckets below. The highlighted sense is the sound of the melting ice dropping into the tin buckets. This video also offers an evocative visual impact.

Positive Negative is a short film about electricity, and was the winning entry in THE GRID, SPausnet short film competition 2009, ran by latrobe city. with the onset of climate change, we the public are faced with an ever increasing series of options and choices that will supposedly determine the success of humanity in the future. in a world of polar opposites often fueled by emotion, where opinions clash and facts contradict, how else are we to make educated choices without considering both sides of the story? theviewfromhere.com.au

-
New Moon is the film to celebrate ‘Chuseok’, the biggest harvest festival in Korea. The film starts slowly but intensity builds. It’s dynamic and energetic. The excitement builds and we see an explosion of celebration - The Spirit of the ‘Chuseok’ festival. In a flood of light we finally see our stunning new moon.

Historically the elements have influenced the world of man and he has lived his life by the cycle within. With the modern existence, man is becoming less attuned to these cycles, living outside the natural rhythms; seeing the natural world as something to be controlled, manipulated and exploited. Arguably, we are now living within the aberrations to these cycles; with increasing impact on, and consequences to our lives and habitat. By using the elemental symbols of Water, Earth, Fire and Air and their referential links to the seasons, I am interested in exploring a contemporary interpretation of the disruptions we are now experiencing within the natural world. By using digital media I am offered a greater freedom in expressing the moving sequences of the cyclic narratives than I would be in using traditional media. gippslandartists.com/tracyroberts

At the heart of my paintings since 1997 have been the desert landscape and the ornament and architectural elements of the Arabic world, utilized to present a contrast between the interior and exterior as well as convey a sense of the archaic, hidden narratives and beauty. Since 2011 the Arabic elements have given way (in my larger, major paintings) to the armour, weaponry, sculpture and architecture of Ancient Rome. jeremyelkington.weebly.com

Sometimes it might be an amazing weekend away, or being angry with a need to let off steam. last weekend i had a fantastic time white-water canoeing on Big River, up near Eildon, and a drawing is in my head awaiting its turn for when I can put pen to paper. Making art, drawing, painting, ceramics, or sculpture is very therapeautic for me. It clears my head, cools my brain and warms my heart. It might also be an upcoming special occasion, and a need to make a gift, thinking about what interests the person or what colours they like.

My aim as an Action Painter is to bypass self-censoring thought and ‘feel’ my way through the creative process. Initially it’s about letting go of having a preconceived idea to make a physical and emotional connection with the raw materials as I move, pour, dribble, splatter and throw. Trusting in the process itself, I work freely in the moment ‘on the floor’ as mark follows mark in a visual domino, creating a series of visual scenarios that tantalize my senses from the surface whilst being recorded in the foundational layers of the painting below. kerriewarren.com.au

Aloha, I’m a video artist who lives and works in Melbourne, Australia. My practice explores relationships to the quotidian and the phenomenological experiences triggered by them. My video installations use tromp l’oeil techniques in combination with evanescent elements that act as catalysts for the viewer to expand upon. This work is a commentary on the medium of video art, and how it’s cinematic idiosyncrasies are exposed when contextualized through the medium of painting. That said: this work is better considered as a painting with kinetic properties, than as video art. While I want this to be seen as an object, the temporal qualities of video prevented this and so it is seen for its linear expectations rather than its objecthood. These expectations make the work dismissible to me through its predictability, as the chemical reaction communicates immediately that its movement follows a constant set of rules. travisheinrich.blogspot.com.au
