Tea Fannie is a lyricist and rapper born in British Columbia, but has lived in Edmonton, Toronto and Saskatoon, and is currently based in Calgary. Her music is a mash-up of trap, hip-hop, and R&B. She credits Jhené Aiko, Jazmine Sullivan, Missy Elliott, and Nicki Minaj as creative influences. While living in Edmonton, she began as a poet before starting a musical career when a friend encouraged her to play at their album release party; it was just the push she needed.

“I would like to be a part of, and contribute to, putting Calgary on the map, with my music” she says of her community impact. “I want to be able to help people.”
