Oluyemi orn Oluleke Osinbajo on March 8, 1957, Yemi Osinbajo as he has come to be known has proved bookmakers wrong as a seasoned administrator, especially as the number two citizen of the most populous black nation in the world, having surpassed expectations. He is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Professor of Law and until his inauguration as Vice President, a Senior Partner with SimmonsCooper Partners, a commercial law practice. Osinbajo had his early education at the prestigious Corona Primary School, in Lagos, from where he attended Igbobi College Yaba, between 1969 and 1975. In 1975, he gained admission into the University of Lagos to study Law, and graduated in 1978 with a LLB Law degree. From 1979 to 1980, he attended Nigerian Law School, and in 1981, he was awarded a Master Laws having attended the London School of Economics earlier. Osinbajo served the compulsory one year youth service as a legal officer with Bendel Development and Planning Authority (BDPA), old Bendel State. After service in 1981, he was employed as a law lecturer at the University of Lagos. He started lectur-

This is as he continues to delve into one political obscurity after another. The latest being the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) supposedly tak-

godfather of the Southwest region, Tinubu, and the Edo-born chairman of the party, Oyegun is dated back to the twilight days of 2016 when the battle for the soul of Ondo State was being fought. While tinubu, in his wisdom preferred a Segun Abraham, the party chairman allegedly opted for due process where Rotimi Akeredolu emerged winner. Oyegun insisted on the winner of the primaries to the chagrin of Tinubu. Since then, even as Akeredolu went ahead to win the election and was sworn in in February 2017, the cold war between the two has continued. The demystification of Tinubu at the Ondo front gave impetus to the chairman and other party bigwigs to constantly call his bluff, leading to his near-obliteration from political relevance. Things did not get better as the leader of the party, President Buhari, failed to accord relevance and recognition to the man whose ingenuity unseated a sitting president. Tinubu’s influence and relevance continued a free, unabated fall, prompting his wife, Senator Remi Tinubu, to cry out, accusing Buhari of ‘thrashing’ her husband. This outburst, political watchers say prompted Buhari to give Tinubu a near impossible task of reconciling the aggrieved members of the party ahead of the 2019 General Elections. Tinubu is supposedly meant to reconcile himself as well. In the cause of assuming to do the job, Tinubu raised an alarm, claiming that the chairman was stampeding his efforts, accusing him detrimental actions aimed at sabotaging the ‘presidential assignment’ of reconciling the warring interests within the party. In the letter, which many referred to as ‘bomb’, Tinubu did not spontaneously ask the chairman to relinquish his position as was

the case in 2016 when he slammed him for allegedly breaching the APC “democratic pledges” in the wake of the conduct of the party’s governorship primaries in Ondo State, but sternly prevailed on him to stop being a spanner in the wheel of progress. Buhari’s invitation of the chairman to Aso Rock for a closed door meeting in the absence of Tinubu ‘could have meant one thing – a pat on the back for a job well done’. Much as the media waited, no party voice condemned Oyegun for his affront against Tinubu, rather every notable office in the APC family has given his approval for the elongation of tenure for the chairman, leaving Tinubu continually aggrieved and embattled. When the state chairmen expressed support for the leadership of Mr. Odigie-Oyegun as well as President Muhammadu Buhari, whom they urged to present himself for another term in 2019, they positively spoke one voice, and that is that the president and the chairman are on the same side of the divide, and whoever does not seem to agree with them is an outsider. Tinubu understands such language in the political equilibrium. In a communiqué released after the vote of confidence meeting, the body declared: “The forum, after dissections and thorough appraisal of the APC-led Government, hereby unanimously pass a vote of confidence on our dear President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Chairman of our great party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and other leaders of our great party for their numerous achievements, despite the challenges so far experienced in our dear country.” “We also urge Mr President to present himself

Why I Should Be Re-Elected NANTA President – Bankole Bernard By Eric Elezuo
A
mong the bodies helping the growth of the Nigeria aviation section is the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) under the leadership of the lively, capable and seasoned aviation practitioner, BANKOLE BERNARD. In this interview, the soft spoken great achiever highlighted how far he has taken the special association, and why he should be given another two-year term of office as the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) comes up in Port Harcourt later in the month. Excerpts: Can we meet you sir? My name is Bankole
Bernard, and I am the National President of National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA). You are majorly an economic and financial person, how did you delve into tourism and airline business? Well, in life, one thing you can't do is change destiny. I feel I have been destined to go through this path at a particular point in time. I was in the financial world for a while. I left to seek my first passion which has to do with travelling and haven’t looked back ever since. Travelling is something that is very dear to my heart, because it comes with a lot

of opportunities. There is a lot the government can get from travelling but unfortunately they've not given it the desired attention in terms of policies that would help it blossom. That explains one of the reasons I became the president of the association; so I can draw government’s attention to what is going on in the aviation industry. You called it a passion; at what stage in your life did this develop? The passion has always been there. I've always wanted to move around, even at a very young age. Then, I didn't understand what it was all about, but with time, it became
clearer as I got more involved. I had the opportunity to travel to several countries like Togo, Ghana amongst others. Whilst growing up, I embarked on domestic trips with the family - just to know Nigeria. As you can see, the passion for travelling has always been there. Later, I made it a point of duty to visit all continents. Presently, I'm trying to draw people's attention to the fact that domestic tourism is the key thing and we need to focus on it and know the happenings around us to erase the impression that Nigeria is unsafe to visit. I just got back from Kano and I was surprised but
pleased to see a safe state with happy people which runs contrary to the stories we hear about the Northern states. How long have you been the president of NANTA? I've been the President of NANTA for 2 years. In the next couple of days, there would be an election, are you running again? Yes. Now, why do you think you should be re-elected having been the President for 2 years? What are those things that stood you out in the last 2 years? Well, in the last 2 years, the face of NANTA has changed. NANTA has been rebranded and new products developed. The association has created more presence than ever before in the travel and tourism space. As it stands today, NANTA is one of the trade associations around to reckon with. Based on the good works we've done in the last 2 years, we've had trade associations like SATA in South Africa, KTA in Kenya, willing to partner with us. More so, we have developed a better relationship with International Airline Travel Association (IATA), the international umbrella body of travel agencies. Also, during my tenure, we have had the privilege of visiting IATA home office on two different occasions, and we are collaborating with them on a lot of things. One of them is NANTA collecting annual dues for IATA on behalf of their members in Nigeria; this is one of the noble things we've been able to achieve. We have come up with NANTA identity
Interview card to regulate people in the industry. With that, you can identify a genuine travel agency and those that are not; it will be launched next month. In addition, we have created chapters for state NANTA. The association generally has just five zones, and in each of those zones, we have state chapters that are coming up. The membership of NANTA is fast growing because there is a much more improved visibility and connectivity, in addition to creating a user friendly online registration portal for NANTA members. This has made registration for new members stress-free and easily available as they can register and submit all their documents online. Saying quite a lot has been achieved will be an understatement. We have intervened where necessary with the Ministry of Aviation, as well as the Ministry of Tourism. They know the importance of NANTA and they liaise with us when required, every step of the way. What are the things limiting the growth of the tourism industry? The limitation is basically knowledge and policy based. Most of those policies need to be changed and some need to be upgraded for one reason or another. Aviation is a striving business everywhere in the world, and countries use it to showcase their countries’ worth. However in this part of the world, we've not done so well, but I know the present Minister of State for Aviation, Alhaji Sirika, is doing a lot to revive it with the assistance of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), the highest ruling body in the aviation industry. We just need to harness the things that we have; all our facilities need to be ungraded and

organized. The government needs to focus on formulating enabling policies as well as allow private entities to drive the business aspect of aviation. If we do these, we would get the dividend. Things have changed around the world and Nigeria cannot be left in isolation. We need to change the way we do things as well. Sir, what is your take on not having a national carrier in Nigeria? The truth is, there is a misconception about national carriers. What is a national carrier? It is a name you give to an airline that is owned by the country. In these days, several countries are changing from their national carrier to having flag carrier as long as they have the representative that can take it up and service it well. I believe the government can partner with lots of domestic carriers and make the best out of them, either by investing or by giving them a real environment that enables them fly to other countries uninhibited. Floating national carriers is not the best option right now, because we really don’t have the resources and even if we do, there are other things that deserve it. Talking about resources, does it make smaller African countries thriving in aviation are better than Nigeria? They are thriving because they have accountability, and they make the best of what they have. Here, we have been distracted by our oil. If Ethiopia had oil today maybe they won’t concentrate on their aviation. I think we need to divert our attention from oil and let it be an alternative. We have the population, therefore, I see aviation as the next main stay of the economy - if the government can pay attention to
it. As the president of a body that supervises aviation, have you made a formal proposal to the government as regards these? The good thing is that we have a very good
relationship with government as a pressure group, and we've always made it known that they need to have a change in policies or renewal of policies. We make suggestions to them from time to time, just to make sure that they are

The Legend of Kakawa Street Lagos Island Millionaire, Candido da Rocha
H
ave you ever asked any of your parents for money, especially continuously, and they gave you this reply: “Do you think I’m Da Rocha?” Candido Da Rocha, the Ilesha man was born in 1860, and he live through to 1959. He was the first millionaire in Nigeria. A historian narrates: “Well, I experienced it and growing up, I never knew the meaning of the statement, until I came across a book a friend gave me, when I stumbled on the name ‘Candido da Rocha’.
“He was a rich man who would, from the balcony of his one-storey building, throw down coins to children who would, in a tangle of bodies and flapping hands, struggle for them. So, I remembered vividly why my parents deny being “a da Rocha” anytime I ask for money I don’t literally need as a child,” he said. Da Rocha was a rich entrepreneur, businessman, landowner and creditor who owned Water House or Casa d’Agua on Kakawa Street, Lagos Island, Lagos. It was named Water House because it
was the first and only house in Lagos in those days to have a borehole and in turn sells water to residents. He was born to the family of Joao Esan Da Rocha, who was captured as a slave when he was 10 years old on his way to school in Ilesha. Candido was born in the Bahia region of Brazil. His mother was Angelica Josephina da Rocha. His father returned to Lagos, Nigeria in the 1870’s where he built his wealth and passed it to his son, Candido.
Due to his wealth, his friend, Herbert Macaulay nominated him as a candidate in one of the elections of the time. And when da Rocha met the electorate, he told them: “I am Candido da Rocha, your candidate into the House. Vote for me if you like. And if you don’t, all well and good.” That statement ended his sojourn in politics as he lost the elections, acquiring only 20 votes. Indeed, Da Rocha was a very modest and generous capitalist. During the Second World War (1939 – 1945), when the
authorities of Kings College were looking for a place to relocate the students in the boarding house – among whom were Tiamiyu Bello-Osagie, who would become one of Nigeria’s most celebrated gynaecologist; Adenekan Ademola, son of Nigeria’s first indigenous Chief Justice, Adetokunbo Ademola; Dapo Aderemi, son of Sir Adesoji Aderemi, the legendary Ooni of Ile-Ife, Da Rocha volunteered his Bonanza Hotel on Customs Street, Lagos, and did not collect a dime for the period it was used. Even after the war, when government asked influential Nigerians to contribute to the rehabilitation fund, he made substantial donations and he instructed that the amount should not be disclosed to the public. D espite his wealth and political clout, no street in Lagos is named after him. Candido Da Rocha died on March 11, 1959 and his remains are interred at the Ikoyi Cemetery. Among many of his businesses is the now defunct Bonanza Hotel in Lagos. He collaborated with Lagos businessmen J. H. Doherty and Sedu Williams on a money lending business established under the name of the Lagos Native Bank. He was a founding member of the Lagos auxiliary to the Anti Slavery and Aborigines Right Society which was headed by James Johnson and had Samuel Pearse and Sapara Williams as members. Among his children were Alexander Da Rocha, Adenike Afodu, Angelica Folashade Thomas and Louissa Turton.

GHANA’S INDEPENDENCE AND LESSONS FOR NIGERIA By Dele Momodu
F
ellow Nigerians, how are you today and how is our dear beloved country? I’ve spent most of this week in Accra, Ghana. Many Nigerian leaders have also passed through the Republic of Ghana this week. The reason is not far-fetched. Ghana celebrated her 61st Independence anniversary on March 6, 2018, and the country has been in celebratory mood all week and Ghanaians have been upbeat all the way. This state of jollification is well-deserved. Ghana has not done badly at all even if it had suffered her own challenges like most African nations in the past. As with all those
progress they have achieved since independence. It would be an understatement to say how much I love and appreciate the giant strides of Ghanaians. Ghanaian politics is not different from religion. Majority of Ghanaians are born with political parties. They are brought up on certain ideologies and principles. As with their religious beliefs, which they hold firmly to, and hardly waver from by criss-crossing religions, it is more difficult for a Ghanaian politician to abscond from one party in order to join another. This notwithstanding, democracy thrives because Ghanaians have learnt and perfected
party if and when their own party is seen to be failing to deliver the goods. Hence, electoral results and fortunes of the different parties are often quite close. Ghana is thus more politically advanced than most other African nations. I’m always fascinated by the level of political awareness even amongst those in the rural areas. The mass proliferation of radio stations has also helped in the dissemination of news to every nook and cranny. I have followed Ghanaian politics since my secondary school days and I’ve been a passionate disciple of Kwame Nkrumah whose revolutionary zeal

Nkrumah was like our own Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe or Chief Obafemi Awolowo, not just because of his dogged fight for Ghanaian independence but also, because of his great intellectual prowess. I read his powerful books and fell in love with ‘Consciencism’ and ‘Africa Must Unite’. In Rawlings, I found a revolutionary soldier, turned politician, who had an idea of what he wanted to do, what he needed to do and how he needed to it. His main goal was to rid Ghana of the cankerworm of corruption and corrupt influences even if violent and tragic means were required to achieve this. He made mistakes, as he acknowledged to Ovation International magazine, in several interviews, but still did his best to turn Ghana around in a most dramatic but efficacious fashion. It is to his credit that those who like him ,and those who do not, jointly rise to applaud his role in the development of a modern, accountable Ghana. This year’s Independence celebration in Ghana was very exciting and colourful. It was also special and unusual because two prominent Nigerians were invited, and they both attended. First, our President, Muhammadu Buhari, was the special guest of honour. Second, the President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki was also invited as a special guest of the Ghanaian Parliament. This meant we had both the number one and number three citizens of Nigeria in attendance at the
Pendulum ceremonies. Nigeria being an acclaimed giant of Africa, the presence of these two lofty personages added grandeur and significance to the ceremonies, to say the least. I paid special attention to the speeches, especially that of President Buhari of Nigeria and President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana. One is taciturn and ponderous in his delivery whilst the other is undoubtedly an orator. The Ghanaian President, dealt with and, rolled out his developmental plans and vision for Ghana and President Buhari also dealt with and, rolled out his achievements with respect to his pet project, the war against corruption. Indeed, he made headlines with his offer and promise to help Ghana fight corruption. Many of his listeners wondered how Nigeria can help Ghana in the fight against corruption when Nigeria was already rated as one of the world’s most corrupt nations and Ghana was way behind. For me, I was happy that President Buhari accepted Ghana’s invitation and witnessed a superb ceremony by a country that has done fantastically well against all odds. On a serious note, it is my belief that, Ghana is now far superior to many African countries in many areas. In the area of security of lives and properties, Nigeria has become over-militarised with more and more reliance on the Armed Forces rather than the Police, but in contrast, Ghana relies more heavily on its police. We have succeeded in turning our police into an inferior force of unmotivated, inefficient and corrupt officers, and our soldiers now appear more in public as if we are in a military era or worse still, state of war. Our police have, as a result become ill-equipped to deal with the security challenges that face our nation. They are unable to fight the rising menace of armed robbery and kidnappings by a rag-tag, motley crew of undesirable elements, such that, it is painfully obvious that, they cannot fight the dastardlier, highly organised, but cowardly insurgency of the Niger Delta or Boko Haram not to mention control those agitating for secession in the East, all of which are ravaging Nigeria and threatening our corporate existence. thralled and encouraged when the Ghanaian President declared, emphatically, that he would enlarge the size of the Ghanaian police and give them sufficient training and equipment to enable them fulfil their role as the guardian and protector of a civilian populace in peace time. He asserted that the military would only be used in exceptional cases as back up, since indeed that is their role when there is no war. I have said it repeatedly that we must return power, purpose and significance to the Nigeria Police. The only way to do this is to follow the vision of President Akufo-Addo and recognise that the time has come to deal with all the issues which plague the police and make them the sorry and sometimes laughable outfit that they have become. A situation where the police have been turned into little more than escorts and security guards for the rich and famous cannot augur well for the internal security of the nation. I do not object to the police carrying out this role, in part, given the security challenges that our nation faces. However, there is no reason why they cannot and must not fulfil their constitutional role of maintaining and securing public safety and public order, even as they protect the upper echelons of society. The Armed Forces should be restricted to its constitutional role of defending the country from external aggression, maintaining and securing the integrity of our borders and quelling insurrection. They should only be called upon by the President to aid and assist the civil authorities, like the Nigeria Police when there is a real need to do so. Even in such circumstances, the President is required to act only upon conditions laid down by an Act of the National Assembly. It seems clear to me in my layman’s understanding of the law and the relevant constitutional provision of s. 217 of the 1999 Constitution that in the absence of such an Act of the National Assembly, the constant and regular resort to the Armed Forces to deal with simple matters of public order and security is not only wrong but unconstitutional. To enable the Police to fulfil their constitutional role, our governments now need to con-
centrate on making bigger budgetary provision not only for equipment but also the number of personnel. Their personal welfare must also be improved. For people who constantly and continually lay their lives on the line, improving their welfare should be a no-brainer. Their salaries should be paid as at when due and must be increased. It is common knowledge that the Police earn a pittance, hence their eagerness to work as security detail and escorts because they know that they will not just be paid on time, but they will earn a package much more considerable than that offered by Government. If we complain about the brazen corruption of police officers and their reluctance to perform their duties, we should appreciate that their emoluments make their position a bit understandable, even though a corrupt police officer cannot be justified and must never be condoned. There should be a comprehensive insurance, medical and pension package for all Police officers, which will see them adequately taken care of, not just when they are in service but even afterwards, upon retirement. In case of their untimely demise in the call of duty, proper provision should be made for their families. I have no doubt that the level of performance of our officers would increase tremendously if their welfare was improved and they knew that the Government really cared for them. Having dealt with their personal welfare, the Government must further make provision for a strong and well-equipped police force. A situation where police officers have to pay for their own uniforms must be anathema to us. It is an absolute disgrace to see police officers wearing bathroom slippers because, the individual officer, or the Police force, cannot afford to kit them out with shoes, not to talk of boots. How can any sane person chase a criminal in such circumstances? To imagine this scenario is comical and farcical, to say the least. Yet this is the state of our police today. For me and my house however, the major area that Government also needs to concentrate upon is equipping the Police Force. There is no reason why the Police should not be as

well, and heavily equipped as the Armed Forces. Even though they are a peace time force, it is apparent that the criminals that they sometimes contend with have not just superior fire power, but also superior intelligence gathering techniques. This puts them several steps ahead of the police and sometimes leads us to deride the efficacy of the police when they are not to blame. I see no reason why the Military police should not have armoured combat vehicles like the Army. The air wing of the Police should have sophisticated aircraft including surveillance and assault helicopters. A sea arm of the police should have heavily armed patrol boats that can navigate and take control of our creeks and riverine areas. It seems apparent, that part of the unwillingness of our present leaders to deal with the situation and have an effective, well-equipped, militarised and properly motivated police force is the military background of those leaders. Esprit de corps properly mandates them to ensure that the Nigeria Police is not as strong as the armed Forces, because such a situation would mean that the Armed Forces could be permanently checkmated as a possible alternate force for governance in the country. Our history demonstrates, that army generals would always want to keep this trump card. To protect our nascent democracy, especially at this time, when some of our leaders are making dangerous references to the possibility of a military takeover, it is imperative to have a strong viable police that can curb the excesses of the military since that is part of its duty of maintaining and securing public order. As President Nana AkufoAddo demonstrated with his vision and plans for the Ghanaian Police, the problem is not with our police force, but with the will of our leaders to empower the police force to take its proper constitutional position as the protector of our security and public order. This can only be done by giving and afforded the Police the necessary resources to carry out their duties. It is not too late to carry out the essential reforms of the Nigeria Police. May God protect and secure us all!

In the fourth month, the heart of the foetus already pumps almost 30 litres of blood per day, and at birth this volume will increase to about 350 litres. In the embryonic stage, lungs, eyes, and ears develop, although they are not used yet. After two months, the embryo is only three to four centimetres long. It is so small that it could literally fit inside a walnut shell, but even at this stage all organs are already present. During the following months the organs increase in size and assume their eventual shape. Allahu Akbar! How is it possible that embryonic development does not entail a disorderly growth of cells, but is systematic and purposeful according to a set timetable? A precise plan, in which all stages are programmed in the finest detail, underlies all these processes. Surely, there is God! Having said all these, Man is a most ungrateful and inconsiderate being. He steals from his fellow man and even commits other transgressions in the name of God. He is a liar, cheat, fornicator and a reveller in the sinful ways of life. Like our political leaders, Man is often not worth the value of the skin that covers his lips. Yet, Man forgets all that Allah has said in the Quran Chapter 76 Al-Insan (The Human Being): Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing--(not even) mentioned? Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So We gave him (the gifts) of Hearing and Sight. The Matter Of Withdrawal From Certain Christian Brethren By Isaac Love Pappoe

embrace the message of Grace. Some think under Grace, there is nothing like avoiding or withdrawing from certain brethren who could also be Christians. The Bible clearly teaches withdrawal from certain brethren even under Grace. You must understand that withdrawing from certain brethren is not walking away or drifting from love, but rather walking in wisdom. The epistles helps us know under which circumstances we can walk away or withdraw from certain brethren even under Grace.
2 Thessalonians 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that ye WITHDRAW yourselves from EVERY BROTHER that walketh DISORDERLY, and not after the tradition which he received of us‌.
Now this is a command in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ written by the Apostle of Grace, Paul. The Greek word for withdraw is "stello" which means to "shrink from a person". It also means to repress or abstain from associating
which means someone near you or remote person close to you who has a spiritual relationship with you. The word disorderly in Greek is ataktos which means irregularly, unarranged, insubordinate (defiant of authority or disobedient). The word tradition in Greek is paradosis which means precept, ordinance or teaching. In this case refers to the teaching of the gospel in the epistle. Paul warns us to withdraw or shrink away from a Christian brother who walk in disobedience
to the word of God. This is not hatred. The Bible teaches withdraw, not hatred.
2. Disobedience to the Epistles Almost the same as the first.
2 Thessalonians 3:14: And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. 15: Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother". The epistles warns us to have no company with those who rebel against teachings in the epistles. Yet it tells not to count that brethren is

an enemy but should be admonished as a brother. The teaching of withdrawal is explicit. There is nothing esoteric or difficult to be understood about the foregoing teaching. There is a prescribed course of conduct and it is the gospel of Jesus. It must be received and lived. 3. Fornicator, covetous, idolaters, drunkard, extortionists, etc.
1 Corinthians 5:9 I wrote unto you in an epistle NOT to COMPANY WITH F O R N I C AT O R S : 5:10 YET NOT ALTOGETHER WITH the FORNICATORS OF THIS WORLD, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. Paul was careful and cautious of his words not to sound religious. He warned them to to keep company with fornicators, then he
Faith softened his tone of voice by saying that it doesn't necessarily mean we should completely avoid everyone single person in the world with that habit. There some that are hardened and don't want to be corrected and there are other who genuinely want to be free from that habit. Not withstanding, Paul warns to be careful of habitual fornicators, those who are eager for gain, image worshippers (or believers who advice you to consult occultic or demonic powers for quick solutions), habitual drunkards, abusive people, dupes and greedy brethren. Paul even went on to tell the brethren not to even eat with such people. This is a serious matter outlined by the Apostle of Grace. In the verse 12 of this epistle, Paul explains that, as for those who are in the world without Christ, it is God that judges them, but for those in the church, we have the right to withdraw and leaders have the right to put them away from the congregation.
4. The heretics Titus 3:10 A man that is an HERETICK after the first and second admonition REJECT; 3:11 Knowing that he

that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself. Again Paul warns us to reject or refuse an heretic after the first and second rebuke. A heretic is one who gathers or raises a sect to teach them something contrary to anyone outlined standard and empowers them to rebel. We need to be careful of such people. We will have many in the Grace community especially who are unbalanced and misconstrued in the teaching of the message of Grace. Be careful of such people who want to sound revecal, different and habitually controversial. Paul says such people are perverts, they sin and condemned of themselves. You don't immediately avoid them, but you can do so after a first and second counsel, admonition or warning. 5. Those who cause division and offenses through strange doctrines of teachings
Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which CAUSE DIVISIONS and OFFENCES CONTRARY TO THE DOCTRINE which ye have learned; and AVOID THEM.
16:18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. You to take this scripture very serious. Paul again warns us to avoid brethren who cause divisions and offenses contrary to doctrine which are learned by believers. He says people do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ but their own belly. They're selfish and promote confusion rather than unity.
THE PURPOSE OF WITHDRAWAL. Withdrawal or walking away from a brethren is not an act of vengeance. It is not performed for corporal or physical punishment. So if that is you motive, then it is wrong. ------Withdrawal is done to maintain honor and respect for Bible authority (Col. 3: 17). - - - - - - - Wi t h drawal is designed to maintain the purity of the local church (I Cor. 5: 6, 7). This is necessary so that other brethren do not think it is okay to also do same. The fear (respect not terror) of God must be observed, and recognized. ------- Preserve
or protect the character of the believer. 1Cor 15:33 says, Be not deceived, bad company corrupts good manners (character). If the believer keeps company with such brethren for a long time, they will soon begin to act same way as these brethren. -------- The act of withdrawal is intended to also save the member living in sin or disobedience (I Cor. 5: 5). Withdrawal is spiritually punitive in design and nature (2 Cor. 2: 6, reference is apparently made to the man of chapter five of the First Letter, the man who was living in fornication but has now repented as a result of the withdrawal taught and practiced, vs. 1-11 (read 1Cor 5:1-11). It's done to make them ashamed and come to their senses. So now, is there a reason why a brother should withdraw from another brethren in the Lord? Yes. Isn't that drifting away from love? No. This is an instruction in the epistle where the message of Grace is preached. You must understand that in the epistles, there is a place for the finished work of Christ, the current work of Christ, the position of the church, the

conduct of the church (how the church is to behave), commandments for the church and INSTRUCTIONS for the church as well. As students of the gospel, we must give full attention to every detail outlined in the epistles.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for DOCTRINE, for REPROOF, for CORRECTION, for INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS: 3:17 That the man of God may be PERF E C T , T H R O U G H LY FURNISHED unto all good works. NB: You must understand that all sins (past, present and future sins) has already been forgiven by our Lord Jesus Christ. All these sins before God has been forgiven by God, but some these same sins cannot be overlooked or forgiven by the church as a body and as an authority on earth. Some of them must be critically dealt with along with with brethren who committed them so that the sanctity and image of the church will be preserved. Hope this opened your eyes.

The Chad Basin National Park is a national park in northeastern Nigeria, in the Chad Basin, with a total area of about 2,258 km2. It is one of the seven (7) National Parks in Nigeria. The park is fragmented, with three sectors that facilitate a memorable experience. The Chingurmi-Duguma sector is in Borno State, in a Sudanian Savanna ecological zone while the Bade-Nguru Wetlands and Bulatura sectors are in Yobe State in the Sahel ecological zone, of which are blessed with beauties that captivates the eyes of every privileged being in the area. Chad Basin National Park is situated within the ancient KanemBorno Empire (present day Borno and Yobe states). The Empire was established prior to 10th Century A.D. It was one of the famous and politically well-organized Empires comparable to its contemporaries of Songhai and Mali Empires in Africa. The then Borno Empire developed mainly within the Conventional Basin of the Lake Chad which Chad Basin National Park is now located.
The Empire played a prominent role in the growth and expansion of the Trans-Saharan Trade, Arabic and Islamic Learnings, Scholarship and diplomatic ties with Countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Libya, Morocco and Spain. As a result of the Continental Trade, Islam was first introduced to what is today Nigeria around the 11th century A.D through Borno Empire. One of the noticeable relics of the material culture of the ancient Borno Empire which is still outstanding is the Rabeh’s Fort at Dikwa. Chad Basin National Park is one of the seven (7) National Parks in Nigeria, under the overall administration of the Nigeria National Park Service (NNPS), a Federal Parastatal under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Environment established by Act 46 of 1999 (LFN Cap 65 of 2004). The Park has the same organizational structure as the six (6) sister Parks, being operated under Category II of the IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources otherwise known as the World Conservation Union (WCU). Surely, a visit to this park will unleash experience that would never be erased.

ver since the conscientious exposure of the womenfolk following the Beijing Conference of many years ago, so much good much tidings have come the way of the women, among them the setting aside of March 8 of every year to celebrate their relevance and great contributions to the world. However, as important as many believe the women are in the scheme of things, it is still disheartening that they are still placed at the lowest rung of decision making and taking. Most world governments are yet to see the need to equally allocate governmental functions in relation to their male counterparts. This is majorly as a result of culture and tradition which the African society tenaciously holds on to. A typical example is the Nigerian society where just a handful of women are manning top notch government positions, especially elected positions. From the north down to the south, the discrimination against the womenfolk especially as regards holding leadership position has gone beyond the ordinary, and entered into typical chauvinism. To further portray the disdain culture has made Nigerian men hold their female counterparts, a member of the House of Representatives,Hon. Gudaji Muhammed Kazaure, declared that giving women too much laissez-faire might lead to the eventual overthrow of men. Kazaure represents the Kazaure, Roni, Gwiwa and Yankwashi Federal Constituency of Jigawa State, in the lower chamber.

But the United Nations has taken the bull by the horn by appointing a woman, a Nigerian for that matter, the Deputy Secretary General, proving that time has come when women should be allowed to bite the bigger chunk of world administration. This is also highlighting the fact that a woman is in charge of the International Monetary Fund, and is performing creditably. But more kudos should be given to the government and people of Rwanda, who have come to realize that performance is not a function of what lies between the laps, but the content of the mind, which the women proudly possess and exhibits in no small measure. The Rwandan parliament boast of more the greatest number of women in its fold. The East African country has 49 women in its 80-seat lower house of parliament and 10 women in its 26-seat Upper house of parliament. Rwanda is followed directly by Bolivia, Cuba and Iceland. Sadly enough, Nigeria is ranked 180 out of 190 in countries that have given women chance to showcase the stuff they are made off. It is therefore, imperative that the Nigerian public should take in consideration the example of Rwanda, a country that saw years of civil war, yet got it right and give the Nigerian women more opportunities. We must be understood that the likes of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Oby Ezekwesili, late Dora Akunyuli among many others did not disappoint with the positions they manned or is it (wo)manned.
