It is hard to believe we are already almost half way into the year, but it has been packed full of so many fun outings and opportunities already! Your Lifestyle team has been working hard to provide a variety of engaging social events and activities to give you an opportunity to connect with your neighbors and make our Esplanade at The Heights community flourish as we enjoy the winter months.

As more and more people go under contract and close on their home, the bigger our social life gets! Please remember that as soon as you go under contract with Taylor Morrison on this property, you are invited to participate in all Lifestyle events and activities. The Lifestyle Program is tailored to your interests, so do not hesitate to reach out to us with your comments and suggestions for our events in the future.

From our two Signature Events, Seaside Social and Havana Nights, to our Cooking and Cocktail Series: The Art of Sushi and Sake demonstration, we have packed your schedule full

of all kinds of fun events! We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day and enjoyed National Margarita Day with our friends; there is always something to look forward to.

Moving forward, though we lose some friends for the summer, we still have a lot on the schedule! From celebrating Cinco de Mayo together to doing a hands-on floral making class and bringing home your creation, to sipping on cocktails at a local distillery, there are events happening both in the convenience of the community and chances to get out and explore the surrounding area! Nadia Jean has been a licensed massage therapist for 12 years and holds advanced certifications in multiple modalities. She is a seasoned professional with experience working for exclusive spas, college sports teams, private practice, and as a massage therapy instructor.

She is skilled at providing goal-oriented, outcome-based, therapeutically targeted massage. A native of New England, Nadia has enjoyed living and working in the Sunshine State since 2021.

Our dog Madison, aka “Maddie,” is a 3-year-old Mini Bernedoodle who has been part of our family since she was eight weeks old. Maddie is a little piece of heaven all wrapped up in one adorable dog. She loves belly rubs and can’t resist stealing socks from the laundry basket. Always ready to play and spend time with us, our daily walks are usually made longer because she has never met a stranger and makes it impossible to ignore stopping to say hello. With her loving eyes and wagging tail, Maddie brings absolute and unconditional joy to our lives!

Whether you were Prom King or Queen, you have another chance to be crowned! Join us for a fun night of tennis you won’t forget. Team up with your doubles partners and play a game of King & Queen of the court.

One team will be designated as the “kings” or “queens” and goes to one side of the court while the other players make a line behind the baseline of the opposite side. One challenging team steps up and plays a doubles point against the “kings.” The point is started with either a serve or a drop hit. If the challengers win, they replace the “kings” on the other side of the court.

Join your Head Teaching Professional for an organized round-robin. This will be an excellent opportunity to exercise, meet other players, and have your matches lined up for you. Matches will be arranged by the Pro and new balls will be provided. Tennis Professionals will line up partners and opponents within your skill level and try to make matches challenging and enjoyable.

Paddy Paddles

Battle of the Esplanades Pickleball Event on Saturday, March 18

Esplanade Members from across multiple Esplanade communities polished their paddles and came together at Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch for the social pickleball event of the year! During this St. Patrick’s Day themed pickleball event, participants enjoyed a jam-packed day of friendly pickleball competition and fun, assorted refreshments, and beautiful weather! Prizes were awarded at the end of the day for the winning competitors. Stay tuned later this year for information on next year’s tournament and how you can be a part of it!

Cuban Sandwich

The Cubano, or Cuban Sandwich, came to Florida along with Cuban immigrants, in the 19th century and quickly became widely popular in the state. Prior to this, versions of the Cuban have been recorded in pre-colonial Cuba where yucca was used in place of bread and often the filling was fish or bird meat. It took the arrival of the Spanish, who introduced ham and pork, for the Cuban we know and love today to be born.

To make an authentic Cuban sandwich, it really requires Cuban bread which has been baked with a palmetto leaf on top; however, Ciabatta or French bread will absolutely suffice.

DIRECTIONS

1. Slice the bread in half and spread yellow mustard on the inside of the bread.

2. Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each half.

3. Place a slice of sweet, cured ham on one half of the bread.

4. Place some mojo marinated pork on the other half of the bread.

5. On one half of the bread, place thickly cut pickles then close up the sandwich.

6. Place the Cuban sandwich on a lightly greased griddle. Take a heavy skillet and place it on top of the sandwich so the weight can press the sandwich down.

7. When the bottom begins to turn crisp, turn the sandwich over and repeat.
