Letter From the Lifestyle Team
MADELINE STONE YOUR LIFESTYLE MANAGER
Make it an Esplanade Season to Remember!
We said goodbye to summer and are welcoming the cooler air with open arms! Your Lifestyle Team has been working hard to provide a variety of engaging social events and activities to give you an opportunity to connect with your neighbors and make our Esplanade at The Heights community flourish as we enter the fall and winter months.
As more and more people go under contract and close on their homes, the bigger our social life gets! Please remember that as soon as you go under contract with Taylor Morrison on this property, you are invited to participate in all Lifestyle events and activities. The Lifestyle Program is tailored to your interests, so do not hesitate to reach out to us with your comments and suggestions for events in the future.
We did not let the summer heat stop us from enjoying the company of our neighbors and friends and your Lifestyle Team made sure to keep your schedules packed with plenty to do! We welcomed National Director of Food and Beverage, Patrick Scully to our neighborhood for his demonstration of cooking the perfect steak and making both a delicious Sangria and a Smoky Old Fashioned! We celebrated National Book Lover’s Day by hosting a book swap that we will implement into the Resort Amenity Center and took a kayak
trip through the beautiful mangroves off Lido Key! In October, we were all very excited to welcome back our snowbirds at the Spooky Season First Friday!
Moving swiftly into the fall and winter months, we have so much in store around the Holiday Season. To kick it all off, we are holding another Friendsgiving Potluck to prepare for Thanksgiving. We are also introducing our annual Fall in Love with Wellness Expo where Members have the chance to speak to many of our exclusive Concierge Vendors. In addition, we’re getting ready to open the longawaited Resort Amenity Center!
December holds no less with another Holiday Season First Friday, and other holiday inspired events. Of course, we wrap up the 2022 year by graciously ringing in the year 2023 with our “Noon” Year’s Eve event! Check out the next few pages to see what is planned. Events are constantly being added to the calendar so make sure to stay up to date by visiting EsplanadeHeightsLifestyle.com, selecting the calendar tab and browsing our plethora of events! We look forward to seeing you!
Furry Friends
Meet Willie - LOVED BY HOWARD & HELEN HAMMERMAN
What is your pet’s breed and age?
Willie is a two-year-old Havanese dog.
What is your pet’s favorite treat? Chicken.
How did your fur baby join your family?
When our previous dog passed away in November 2019, we grieved for a month and then started looking for a new dog. We wanted one under 15 pounds. We tried the shelters, but they only had large dogs. We researched breeds and settled on Havanese. We found a breeder in Punta Gorda that had what we were looking for. Willie is calm (mostly) and a joy to be with.
FEATURE YOUR FURRY FAMILY MEMBER!
Contact your Lifestyle Manager to answer a few questions about your furry, feathery, or scaly friend and share a couple pictures!

Nicole Bowman
The Members of our community are truly what make this a wonderful place to live. In each edition, we will spotlight a Member, couple or family to showcase the amazing people that call our community home. If you would like to be featured or want to nominate another Member, please contact your Lifestyle Manager.
We are thrilled with the interest we received in our Envoy by Esplanade program that was recently introduced! The application process for our inaugural program is complete, and we are pleased to announce your first Esplanade Envoy - Nicole Bowman! Nicole is an involved Member of our community who participates in events and leads one of our community’s clubs, Ladies Lunch Bunch! Below is a fun questionnaire that will give you a little more information about Nicole.
QHow long have you been an Esplanade Member? What was the reason you chose The Heights?
I chose The Heights because I liked the location, it was new construction, and I wouldn’t be the only newcomer. I was thrilled that my mother could buy and build her home next door to me, that pets would be allowed, and that it would be an active community full of Lifestyle experiences!
ATell us something about your life that makes you proud. I am proud that I started my consulting business in 2004 and I am still in business!
What is something special about you that not everyone knows?
As a child I lived overseas in Spain, Paraguay, and Colombia. I’ve moved 17 times in my life. I have 16 nieces
and nephews whom I adore. I played pool on a team in the NYC pool league, and we won the city championship.
Tell us a bucket list item!
I want to visit every continent - three down and four to go.
Share a cool story about a past time that affects who you are today.
I once traveled via train for 18 hours and sat next to a young woman from Peru. We chatted for most of the trip. She told me of her upcoming nuptials to a young man from Sri Lanka and that she didn’t know many people in the U.S., so she was sad that she didn’t have anyone to stand with her. By the end of the trip I had accepted her invitation to be her bridesmaid and went on to enjoy the beautiful marriage ceremony with both traditional and Sri Lankan rites.

Diabetes Prevention Month
November is American Diabetes Month. The CDC estimates that over 37 million people in the U.S. have diabetes and 96 million people aged 18 years or older have prediabetes (26 million of those people are 65+). Persons with prediabetes are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. However, type 2 diabetes can be prevented or delayed through a structured lifestyle change program that promotes weight loss, healthy eating, increased physical activity, including walking and yoga, and managing stress.
Making a few changes in your lifestyle now may help you avoid the serious health complications of diabetes in the future, such as nerve, kidney and heart damage. It’s never too late to start. Did you know one of the best ways to decrease your risk of diabetes is walking? Spending 30 minutes of brisk walking, five times each week is a great way to increase your physical activity. You can even break the 30 minutes down into 10-minute sessions three times a day.
