MEMBER SPOTLIGHT / FITNESS

Bob & Maureen Keifer The Members of our community are truly what make this a wonderful place to live. In each edition, we will spotlight a Member, couple or family to showcase the amazing people that call our community home. If you would like to be featured or want to nominate another Member, please contact your Lifestyle Manager.

B

ob and Maureen (Mo) Keifer moved to Esplanade at The Heights in August 2023 and are getting settled into their new life. They discovered this area after touring Lakewood Ranch and are delighted to have found their new home on Grandview Hill Court. They have already attended a few events at The Venue and look forward to meeting more neighbors in the upcoming months. Bob and Mo are both retired and recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They raised their family in Pickerington, Ohio, just east of Columbus and are avid Buckeye fans - GO BUCKS!! They enjoy outdoor activities, such as going to the beach, playing pickleball, taking daily walks, and relaxing by the pool. They’re having a great time exploring the Bradenton/Sarasota area and look forward to warm, sunny days ahead. They relocated to Florida to be closer to their two grandchildren, Lola and Cole, who also live in Tampa. Additionally, they have family members who live in Cape Coral and Bonita Springs. Though they travel back and forth quite a bit, they look forward to the events offered by the Esplanade Lifestyle and the opportunity to make new friends in the community.

Aqua Zumba We’re excited to announce the return of Fitness Classes, featuring our beloved Aqua Zumba instructor, Connie!

C

lasses will kick off on Wednesday, November 8 at 10 a.m. and will be held every week throughout the winter. Aqua Zumba blends the Zumba philosophy with water resistance, creating a safe, low-impact, high-energy aquatic exercise. As water creates natural resistance, each step or dance move is more challenging and helps with muscle-toning and cardio-conditioning. In addition to Aqua Zumba, we’re reintroducing our weekly Yoga Class and a variety of other fitness and wellness events. If you’re interested in joining our Fitness Classes, simply download the Mindbody app to set up your account. Once registered, you can easily sign up for classes and make payments. If you need any assistance, please visit the front desk at The Venue.

Upcoming Events COOKIE EXCHANGE & ORNAMENT PAINTING Tuesday, December 12 | 6:30 p.m. Lifestyle Room A Christmas cookie exchange, also known as a “cookie swap,” is a delightful holiday tradition. During this festive get-together, each guest brings a different type of homemade cookie to share with one other. It’s a wonderful way to save time in the kitchen, especially if you enjoy serving a variety of cookies but don’t have the time to bake them all. By attending the cookie exchange, you only need to bake a few batches of one kind of cookie, which you can then swap with others at the party. As a result, you come home with a beautiful assortment of Christmas cookies to enjoy throughout the season. This heartwarming tradition dates back to at least the 1930s! In addition, we have planned ornament painting and more to make this holiday season special!

WELLNESS / TRAVEL

Intellectual Wellness

M

any people often associate wellness with physical or mental well-being, but it’s equally essential to consider intellectual wellness. Intellectual wellness is the ability to open one’s mind to new ideas and experiences, encouraging us to broaden our knowledge, enhance our skills, and unlock our creative potential. It is important to explore new ideas and foster understanding, and to keep our curiosity alive to promote continuous learning. We can develop our intellectual awareness by engaging in hobbies, actively participating in our community and culture, or pursuing professional development opportunities. Actively working on intellectual wellness not only enhances mindfulness but also deepens our connection with the world around us. Below are a few suggestions to get you started: » Try a new hobby or learn a new skill. » Travel and appreciate other cultures. » Explore your creative side and express yourself though a new artistic avenue. » Take a class or attend a workshop to learn something new. » Read or visit your local library to take advantage of your resources.
