Community Updates BY MICHELLE SAUNDERS, LCAM

Community Growth

Commons Playground

2020 has already brought many new and exciting changes to Victoria Park. V. P. Homeowners Association and Victoria Gardens Homeowners Association both reached 90% completion in the Fall of 2019 and held their developer turnover meetings and elections in February. If you have not had a chance, please visit our website for the election results and information on your new board members.

The Commons playground will be removed and replaced with new equipment late spring. Below are renderings of what the playground will look like once it is complete.

Victoria Oaks Amenity is nearing completion and should be open soon! This amenity center is owned and operated by the Victoria Park Community Council, so it is available to be enjoyed by all Victoria Park residents. Please keep an eye on the newsletter and e-blasts for more information on this wonderful addition to the community which will feature a fitness center, cabana style pool, playground and a beach sand volleyball court.

Commons Pool Deck Project Updates The new pavers are installed and have been sealed. The new shade structures will be installed in April and we are also getting ready to repaint the water features and other fixtures around the pool deck. Thank you for your patience as we work to complete these upgrades!

MICHELLE SAUNDERS is the Community Manager for Victoria Park. You can reach her at 386-738-2112 or by email at MSaunders@ Evergreen-LM.com.

COMPLIANCE

Covenants Corner: Spring Has Sprung! BY K E L LY A N B A C H

W

e want to welcome all the new residents to Victoria Park! We also want to say thank you to the residents that received the friendly reminders with understanding and support in maintaining the beauty of your homes and investments. The role of the Community Standards Administrator is to help ensure the community adheres to the covenant standards as set forth in the governing documents. If you receive a letter, the best thing you can do is contact us so that we can assist in any way possible, or offer timeline extensions if necessary. Our goal is to establish a professional relationship through communication, commitment and caring for our residents. As we continue to grow there may be violations we miss. In the event there is an issue you would like to report, you may do so by filing a Confidential Incident/Violation Report. The form can be obtained online or at our Community Management Office located at 525 W. Victoria Trails Boulevard. You may also call our office at 386-738-2112.

Reminders/Home Maintenance We are focusing on the items listed below: • Irrigation Abuse - Please only run your system at your approved run times. Active repairs/maintenance may be done on Wednesdays and on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 11am-2pm. Please ensure you check your irrigation clocks to ensure you are running on your approved times. For new sod material, manual (hose) watering may be necessary. Overuse of the reclaim water will affect the community and the ponds. • Mailbox Upkeep – Mailboxes should be clean and numbers visible. Please contact the Community Management Office for details where numbers can be purchased.

• Pets - All pets should be on a leash. In addition, be mindful of your neighbor’s lawn by not allowing your pet on it and by cleaning up and removing solid waste after your pets. Please note that animal waste can attract breeding flies, which transmit disease onto the grass. • Pressure Washing – Vinyl fences, sidewalks, walkways, driveways, etc. • Garbage and Recycling – In accordance with the City of DeLand Code of Ordinances, no garbage cans, garbage containers, recycling containers or containerized yard trash (to include cans, boxes and bags) shall be placed at curbside for collection prior to 5pm on the night immediately preceding collection; all such cans, bags or containers shall be removed from curbside no later than 11pm on the day of collection. Also, containers and bins should be kept inside the garage or screened from view. Lattice panels can be used to screen containers. However, ARC approval is required prior to installing any screening including lattice and shrubs. Please remember that cleaning up around your house does not require approval from the HOA. However, if you are considering making changes to the exterior, you must submit an application for any of the work you plan to perform for ARC approval.

KELLY ANBACH is the Community Standards Administrator for Victoria Park. You can reach her at 386-738-2112 or via email at KAnbach@Evergreen-LM.com.

VICTORIA HILLS GOLF CLUB

Updates from the Club B Y S C O T T W Y C K O F F, P G A / G E N E R A L M A N A G E R

W

e are pleased to announce that KVZ Golf LLC has recently purchased Victoria Hills Golf Club and Sparrow’s Grille. Having a passion for golf, the course and surrounding areas will be the top priority in renovation and reinventions. If you have been to the club in the last month, you might have noticed our crews hard at work. We’re very excited about the new enhancements and updates that will be coming in the next few months and we hope you’ll enjoy them. Below are some of the projects to come: • Aerification and topdressing of the greens, which will significantly improve the overall condition and strength of the turfgrass. • Improvement of the fairways and tees through fertigation (applying fertilizer applications thru the golf course sprinkler systems). • Future plans are to repair the bunker edges and the entrance/exit areas of the cart paths.

Golf Is Open With the Governor’s announcement that limits many industries and businesses from operation, please be aware that golf is considered an “essential recreational activity.” When the order came out it was vague as to what companies or industries fall under what is called “essential services.” The order listed things that people can and can’t do; however, golf was not listed as a “can’t do.” Contacts at the PGA Tour and in the golf industry reached out to the Governor’s office for clarification. Golf was recognized as an essential activity with the stipulation of one rider per cart. With this in mind, the golf course will be open for play. With many solo players tee times will be limited, so it vital you book your tee time online at victoriahillsgolf. com/bookteetimes or call in your reservation to 386-738-6000.

hands FREQUENTLY during the day.

What We Are Doing Our team is adhering to stricter rules to continue the fight against Coronavirus and we are taking the following actions: • Asking our customers if they wish for assistance before touching their golf bag. • Water coolers, flagsticks and bunker rakes have been removed from the course. • Golf cup liners will continue to be upside down to keep the golf ball from coming to rest at the bottom of the cup. • One golf car per person, until further notice. Unless you are a couple, family living together or two people who have traveled in the same car. • After every round (or when the customer is finished with the golf car), the golf car is wiped down with disinfectant. • If possible, have the customer slide their own credit card when processing. Credit card signatures are NOT required. • Take out food orders are available for pick up from 11am-3pm, 7 days a week. The option to pre-pay for takeout food prior to pickup is also available. • Carry out food service and canned beer, soft drinks, sports drinks, and water will be offered thru the “turn window,” which is located on the backside of our building on the lanai. • The bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis. • Clubhouse door handles and counters will be cleaned continuously throughout the day. We can effectively fight COVID-19 when everyone follows the above practices. Working together in a safe manner will help provide our employees, members and guests an enjoyable opportunity during this challenging time.

What Can You Do? Keep from touching your eyes, mouth or nose, which promotes the spread of the virus. Maintain Social Distancing, which is a six foot distance from other individuals. Refrain from the traditional hand shake or making physical contact with others. Wash or sanitize your
