It’s Election Time at Vitalia
Lisa Cannon CMCA, AMS, PCAM Community Manager lcannon@ evergreen-LM.com 772-800-2506
On January 7th, Vitalia will hold its first election to elect the first homeowner board. The HOA Board of Directors bears the responsibility to operate, repair, replace and maintain the common areas. Recently, the ballots were mailed to each address that was on file with the management office. The ballot lists all eligible candidates in alphabetical order. Each address will receive one (1) ballot no matter how many people are occupying the unit. Each ballot will allow up to seven (7) votes. There is no cumulative voting allowed; for example, you cannot vote seven (7) times for one person. No write-in candidates are permitted.
One of the most important board member qualities is diplomacy. To be a good board member, the member will need to act as a proactive team player who uses discussion and negotiation rather than contentious confrontation.
When choosing an HOA Board, you may want to look at the credentials of each candidate and ask: • Does the candidate have a strong financial background? • Does the candidate bring management or leadership experience from their career? • How long has the candidate lived in Vitalia? • What is the motivation of each candidate to run for the board?
The ballot contains 22 names of Vitalia residents that are all qualified. Each candidate has their own strengths and have been able to share them with the members at the recent “Meet the Candidate Sessions.” If you would like more information on each candidate, you can find their resumes and bios on the community website at vitaliaattraditionhoa.com. Good luck to all of the candidates!
Once the board is elected, Florida law requires that after 90 days, board members need to certify in writing to the secretary “that he or she has read and understands the governing documents, and will faithfully abide to his or her fiduciary responsibilities.” Each board member will attend a class to become a “Certified Board Member.”

Some of the most iconic rock songs came from the bands Journey and Bon Jovi. The tunes, Don’t Stop Believin’ and Wanted Dead Or Alive, are two of the greatest “encore” songs ever written. But you can’t see those bands like they were in their prime anymore, with Steve Perry in Journey, and big hair Bon Jovi with the fringe jacket and explosive stage moves and fun 80’s vibe...can you?! The Titans Of Rock Concert Experience is a Journey and Bon Jovi show that brings you back to those packed arenas when bands really put on a show. This is the tour you wish you could have seen, and now you can! This is one band that does both bands! Their singer looks and sounds just like the real thing and the band is all live! You won’t want to miss this performance!
