Work on the new 42-metre steel and aluminium vessel designed by Alberto Mancini for the Mangusta Oceano long range line continues without a hitch at the Overmarine-Mangusta shipyards in Pisa. Once the hull and the superstructure were completed in the shipyard where all welding and sandblasting take place, the two structures were transferred to another

shipyard, always in Pisa. Here they are going to be put together thus beginning to work on the outfitting. The two Overmarine-Mangusta shipyards are based in the new yachting area of Navicelli (Pisa wet dock), five minutes from Pisa airport: they boast 22,000 m², of which 9,000 m² are under cover, and are totally dedicated to Group’s steel and aluminium production.

The Mangusta Oceano 42 is a fusion of design, comfort and latest generation technologies. It is a modern, beautiful and elegant yacht whose proportions are a blend of sharp, taut lines combined with softer sections. A careful study of light has been developed onboard, as well as a new concept featuring two innovative areas: on the bow deck the external area showcases two separate sunbathing areas

a platform where the glazed surfaces transform into a source of natural light which filters the night lighting from the underwater lights at the stern. The interiors have been designed to accommodate up to twelve guests ensuring their total privacy and freedom of movement, as well as seven crew members. There is a direct relationship with the outside: natural light floods the salon thanks to the

which lead to an infinity pool. A glazed skylight on the bottom of the pool brings light and translucence to the head in the owner suite on the underlying deck. Astern, on the other hand, the hatch has been fitted with glazed transverse cuts through which a real furnished beach area can be glimpsed. When opened, it stretches out over the sea, creating

enormous windows and in the other areas glazed transparencies introduce light into the interior, making the spaces seem even more generous. Powered by two MTU 12V 2000 M72 engines, this yacht has a cruise speed of 11 knots, a pace which makes it possible to cover a distance of over 4000 miles at a time.

MANGUSTA, HUGE SUCCESS IN THE UNITED STATES TWO MAXI OPEN YACHTS SOLD: A MANGUSTA 165 AND A MANGUSTA 94

The Overmarine Group is proud to announce the sale of two Maxi Open yachts to the American market. The first is a Mangusta 165, the current flagship of the Mangusta fleet, the third in the series sold to this important market over the past 3 years. The second is a Mangusta 94, a new model recently launched in Europe, where the first two units were delivered.

Mangusta is a world leader in the Maxi Open Yacht segment, namely large fast vessels on which to reach a range of destinations quickly whilst enjoying exclusive comfort. This type of yacht is ideal for the whole of North America including Florida, where distances between destinations are relatively short hence easy to reach thanks to high cruising speeds, and the Hamptons, a resort our clients love, where our yachts’ ability to sail in shallow waters, thanks to waterjet propulsion, is essential. For the Overmarine Group, this prestigious result has been achieved through intense strategic planning and investments which involved the entire company, focussing on developing

the product but also strengthening production, distribution and our HR. As far as the product is concerned, greater attention was paid to increasing onboard comfort, especially with the yacht at anchor or moored, as well as greater efficiency, or better, maintaining

high performance with increasingly lower consumption. We also focused on the ways in which the yacht can be used and therefore the different functional and operational requirements of North American clients. These factors have made Mangusta yachts especially welcome and popular in this area. The structural strengthening was important too: the presence, in Miami, of an Americas Area Manager, Stefano Arlunno, who interacts with clients and leading figures on the market and has in-depth experience in After Sales, too, has enabled the company to manage this market directly. This guarantees the necessary assistance for achieving these results.

MANGUSTA 165 Mangusta 165 is the top model in the Maxi Open series and the fastest yacht in her category in the world to date: a 50 metre flagship which, depending on the engines chosen, can even reach a speed of 40 knots! An out and out icon on the world panorama with 9 units delivered in fewer than 7 years. Hull no. 10 features new “evo” aesthetics and a new propulsion system. In line with its policy of ongoing research and innovation, the shipyard introduced this

system in order to guarantee quality,

resulting in greater dynamic thrust.

excellence and wellbeing on board, with fresh attention being paid to consumption and stability. The new “evo” aesthetics are expressed in more aggressive, muscular lines with new glazing on the main deck - a single pane of glass in the salon which offers outstanding visibility from the inside and allows copious amounts of natural light to enter. The yacht has a more elongated flybridge and an aesthetic grill astern

The package features four MTU 2600 HP 16V 2000 M94 engines, four Rolls Royce/KameWa NP waterjets and four Seakeeper stabilisers. The weight/ power ratio is excellent, as the engines are lighter than those used previously so there is less weight in movement. Being last generation, they are also more efficient and have modular functionality. The waterjets are stronger too, thanks to the design restyling which offers better

MANGUSTA 94 performance with lower consumption. The result is her performance is similar to that achieved in the past, but consumption is much lower: 35% lower at 20 and 30 knots. The space in the engine room has been optimised and four stabilisers installed for greater stability at anchor and during sailing: 50% less rolling with half metre waves. Moreover, she features increased efficiency so sailing is extremely comfortable even at low speeds.

Mangusta 94 was the very first new model to be introduced on the market two years ago. Her external lines are the distinctive racy, sporty Mangusta ones, defined by many as a timeless contemporary design. Both aesthetic and structural innovations have been added, like single glazings – in the main salon and in the Owner’s cabin, even larger outdoor areas, a bow cockpit in addition to the sunbathing area and a liveable sundeck.

Measuring just under 30 metres in length, the size of this yacht is real, something which is clear in the spacious onboard volumes. She also features technical innovations: 2600 HP engines supplied as standard, the same propulsion as on larger models and installation of gyroscopic stabilisers.

Historically, France has always been one of Mangusta’s leading markets and the brand’s yachts grace some of the most exclusive marinas along the Côte d’Azur. Opening the Mangusta office in Port Camille Rayon, Golfe Juan, last year was the first step in a strategic plan to strengthen and consolidate the brand, allowing the Group to have direct control over this important French market. Today the office is an important reference point for Owners. Thanks to the presence of a new Customer Service Manager, Mirko Oprandi, it provides a wide range of services before, during and after the purchase of their yachts. Another move in the drive to boost

the company organisational setup of this area is the recent appointment of Maurizio Magri, the new Overmarine Group Sales Manager. Originally from Livorno but now living in Montecarlo, Magri brings to the table years of experience in mega yachts and consolidated knowledge and experience of the market. He will coordinate the French office and will work mainly out of Monaco, the world’s mega yacht capital, providing an invaluable contribution to the development and consolidation of the Overmarine Group and the Mangusta brand in its most traditional market, Europe. The UHNW population in Asia is growing steadily and Singapore is considered to be a pole both financially and for luxury, in short Asia’s Monaco. A substantial part of the wealth of the entire area is concentrated here, coming mainly from Indonesia, Malaysia and China. The nautical industry is also involved in this growth trend, both in terms of clients and services and infrastructures and a nautical culture exists here, too. The area offers interesting destinations near-at-hand which is perfect for fast yachts. This makes Singapore a strategic market for an iconic brand like Mangusta.

After careful consideration, the Overmarine Group chose to appoint Henry Goulding to promote the Mangusta and Mangusta Oceano brands in Singapore. Despite being young, Henry Goulding is a Commercially Endorsed Ocean Master, having built up considerable experience sailing in Europe, the USA and most importantly, Asia, where he now lives and works. Having spent time working on chartered yachts, Henry knows exactly what Owners want, how to make a yacht experience truly unforgettable, build up an excellent relationship with crews and

Manifatture Sigaro Toscano, an entirely Italian story Manifatture Sigaro Toscano SpA was established in 2006, when the Maccaferri industrial group took over the company branch manufacturing and trading the Sigaro Toscano from British American Tobacco Italia.
