Real Radio-Controlled Choppers

Real Radio-Controlled Choppers There are many radio control helicopters on the market and, in fact, the micro-remote controlled helicopter by Syma, the S107G, is one of the best-selling toys on Amazon. However, there are other groups of model helicopter as well. A lot more advanced kinds of aircraft. The Syma S107G is a decent product and an ideal beginner's first flying helicopter. However, the Syma S107G is limited. It is just nine inches long, will only fly up to 30 feet from the controller and will only fly for 10 minutes per charge of the battery. However, for the money, it is an excellent toy. But after that you might like to move on and buy something with more potential and a longer flying time. One of the best of these is the Dragonfly TT487 radio control helicopter. To begin with, the Dragonfly will fly so high that it can go out of sight (particularly if you are a big kid). These aircraft are agile too. Once you get used to flying a real remote control helicopter like the Dragonfly, you will be able to get it to perform all kinds of acrobatic activities. But that is a big 'once', because the aircraft is so powerful, that you will have to put in a lot of flight hours and quite a lot of glue as well. The difficulty with a powerful aircraft like this is that people are inclined to underestimate it and crash it - frequently. One of the tests of being fit for purpose for a good model is how quickly it will get damaged and how simple it is to repair it, because a real model like this is not cheap. The only way to learn to fly these or any other remote controlled aircraft is to take it slowly. Learn how to take off and land slickly first. There is no need to fly higher than 2-3 feet. Then make sure that you have full directional control - you have to be able to steer clear of obstacles. Then you can combine these skills and fly a little higher every week. A further test is the availability of spares, but ideally, you will not require spare parts, except say rotors. I will amend that: get a few of pairs of extra rotors when you buy the aircraft or at least soon afterwards, because you will need them. When a helicopter crashes, the rotors are usually still turning and the craft tips over, so the rotors try to dig up the ground. They always end up losing. They can often be repaired but certainly not every time. When you buy your aircraft pose questions about the Dragonfly TT487; find out which parts break the most frequently (besides the rotors) and buy as many spares as you are able to afford, especially if you live some way from the store. Get a repair kit too. It is better to have everything near to hand for when you require them and you will need them, unless you have flown highly-rated aircraft like the Dragonfly TT487 before.
