Owens defeated them 105-94 at their place on Jan. 14. They are in their first year competing at the NJCAA D-III level after going 25-8 last year and finishing 8th at the NJCAA D-II National Tournament. - Mario Young, who leads Columbus State in scoring, is from the same high school as Owens WBB leading scorer Jeryn Reese. In fact, he was coached at Mansfield Senior by Jeryn’s father, Johntory, who is a former Owens MBB player (1994-96). - Columbus State features some very good players Head Coach: Head Coach: Matthew Gierhart and Mario Young are both three-time Dennis Springs (1st Yr.) Ed Thompson (3rd Yr.) OCCAC D-III players of the week and one-time NJCAA D-III players of the week, and Rodney Willis is the reigning OCCAC D-III player of the week. Career Record: Career Record: - For Owens, Marquevious Wilson and Derrik Jamerson 12-3 42-40 have won the past two OCCAC D-II player of the week awards with Wilson being the reigning winner.
