It would also mark the program’s sixth title in the past seven years, and its 10th in program history. - Another win today would also continue a reign of conference dominance for Owens. They have completed backto-back seasons with perfect conference records and are three more wins away from a third straight. The program has won 47 straight regular season conference games dating back to Feb. 1, 2014 and 41 straight regular season games dating back to Jan. 6 of last season. - Owens is now 72-1 at home, including 23 straight wins, Head Coach: Head Coach: since February of 2012. Mike Llanas (13th Yr.) Ornette Gardenhire (1st Yr.) - Owens is looking for the season sweep of Lakeland after defeating them 91-30 on the road Jan. 25. All five starters scored in double figures, led by Essence Cowan’s 21. Career Record: Career Record: - Owens is 41-15 all-time against Lakeland. Prior to the 320-96 (.769) 5-16 (.238) 2007-08 season, the series was just 23-14, but Owens has won 18 of 19, including 16 straight, in the series. They have outscored their opponents by 1,310 FG%: Reese 53.7 FG%: Sephus 35.7 points, which is 76 more than the number of points they’ve 3PT FG%: Cowan 43.6 3PT FG%: Prugel 34.8 given up this year. FT %: Frost 85.7 FT %: Prugel 71.0 - On top of owning the nation’s top offense, Owens is leading the country in FG made/game (36.2), offensive RPG (21.6), total RPG (53.2) and opponents FG percentage (28.4). They are also among the top five in seven other categories. - Individually, Owens has four players ranked among the nation’s best statistically - Ariel Bethea is first in the country in steals per game at 4.8; Essence Cowan is 10th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage at 43.6; Brenda Pennington is 13th in assists per game at 5.0; and Jeryn Reese is 28th in field goal percentage at 53.7 percent. - In OCCAC play, Owens is first in the following team categories - total points, PPG, FGM/game, FGA/game, 3-pt FGM/game, 3-pt FGA/game, offensive RPG, total RPG, rebounding margin, assists/game, steals/game, blocks/game, PPG allowed, opponents FG percentage and opponents 3-pt FG percentage.
