Bonsucro is the global sustainability platform for sugarcane, one of the world’s most important crops. Its purpose is to collectively accelerate the sustainable production and uses of sugarcane - for farmers, millers, buyers, and end users. It convenes its members and other partners to address critical challenges in the sugarcane sector, and drive performance and impact through its system of sustainability standards for sugarcane. Bonsucro works across all sugarcane products and derivatives – sugar, ethanol, molasses, and bagasse. It also works across both traditional and newer market sectors, from sugar and alcohol to biofuels and bioplastics. Bonsucro manages a community of more than 270 members in over 50 countries from across the sugarcane supply chain, representing 27% of production and 20% of buyers – from farmers and millers to traders and end users. Bonsucro is ISEAL Code Compliant. Our system has been independently evaluated against ISEAL’s Codes of Good Practice––a globally-recognised framework for effective, credible sustainability systems. THE ROLE

JOB SUMMARY

TITLE:

Interim HR Senior Manager

LOCATION:

London or remote with some travel to London

SALARY: Competitive CONTRACT: Fix term contract for 6 months for three days per week initially, with the possibility of an extension and increase of days per week dependent on business needs.

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services /CEO, you will be responsible for strengthening the HR function and managing HR specific projects for an organisation going through a phase of growth with a period of significant organisational development and recruitment. Working for a purpose-led organisation, with a new five-year strategic plan and joining an international team, this is a business-critical role for Bonsucro at a time of change and growth. Bonsucro has London-based headquarters and employs people in remote offices in Latin America, Asia and Africa.

A consultancy contract can be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES RECRUITMENT

• Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services to develop and manage an effective recruitment process, within organizational capabilities, for up to fourteen new positions, with a target of securing at least five new hires by Q1 2022 and four by Q2 2022. • Reporting to the CEO, responsible to manage all aspects of a successful recruitment of three Directors and one/two Senior Managers. This includes day-to-day management of the contract with the retained recruitment consultants. • Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, responsible to manage the recruitment of the other roles, including: • Liaise with the Recruitment Manager • Manage the preparation of application packs • Develop/support preparation of new job descriptions and assessment frameworks • Support long-listing and short-listing of candidates • Manage the administration of the interview panels • Provide guidance to interview panels on best practice and bias management • Provide feedback to candidates as required • Ensure the recruitment process is inclusive and actively promotes and seeks diversity • Support/lead on contractual arrangements/negotiations as required • Advise on and lead effective induction process for new recruits.

POLICIES AND LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT

• Review, advise and develop the annual HR cycle of Bonsucro in accordance with the new strategic plan and organizational development objectives • Review, advise and develop HR policies and socialise them with the staff. This includes: • Policy on pay progression within bands • Policy on promotion between bands • Develop/finalise key accountabilities for each salary band, particularly Manager/ Senior Manager and adapted workflows • Diversity & Inclusion policy (review) • Staff handbook for UK staff and adaptations for international retained consultants (finalise) • If capacity allows, establish a new approach to professional/leadership development and develop a budgeted plan for approval by March 2022.

FACILITATE ORGANISATIONAL CHANGE

• Support staff engagement & the work of the Employer of Choice Working Group • Contribute to planning for the transition to a doubled workforce • Facilitate the development of initiatives to support newly created teams and the integration of new staff into existing teams • Enable that existing staff with any HR related queries are supported and any grievances managed • Facilitate the implementation of any agreed plans to support the growth phase.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering on business-critical projects within the HR function. You will possess a strong background in HR, ideally with experience of organisational growth and processes to support it. A background within a small/medium sized international organisation undergoing similar transitions would be preferred. You will play a pivotal role in enabling the growth of the organisation and will be required to build relationships across all levels of the organisation. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills are therefore critical. You are pro-active, reliable and well able to deliver on multiple priorities at once, acting with the highest level of integrity at all times.
