The Role We are a global Secretariat, and we are currently wanting to diversify our Leadership Team to more broadly reflect geographic and cultural diversity. The Secretariat is currently around 30 FTE staff, based around the world, working in a completely virtual way. The team has three clusters of work: Finance & Corporate Resources: Alliance Programme: Fundraising & Communications and is led by a CEO. The cluster Directors and the CEO form the Leadership team of the Alliance Secretariat. We are therefore seeking candidates based in India, Kenya, South Africa, the Middle East, or the United Kingdom. The candidate must be able to work in English and, ideally at least one of our other working languages namely Arabic, French or Spanish.

The Director of Finance & Corporate Resources has overall responsibility for leading the internal aspects of Family for Every Child, ensuring financial health and sustainability; building digital capability and information systems; delivery of effective people management, operations and governance. The postholder will take a lead on organisational management and planning in the Secretariat with specific responsibility for supporting the Boards and Leadership Team in developing and implementing strategy, managing the financial position and delivering the financial plans, identifying and managing risk, and monitoring delivery to ensure our performance is on target. The role is also responsible for ensuring legal and regulatory compliance across four entities in the UK; and those in the US and New Zealand; and supporting the Boards of each of these entities to deliver on their governance responsibilities. The postholder is a key member of the Secretariat Leadership Team and has collective responsibility for the leadership and delivery of the whole Secretariat. The role has overall responsibility for effective management of the organisation’s resources (c. £3.5 million) and specific responsibility for the Finance & Corporate Resources budget (c. £650K p.a. including staff costs; c. £275K p.a. excluding staff costs)
