About Proforest At Proforest we’re passionate about helping people produce and source agricultural and forest commodities responsibly. That is why we support companies throughout supply chains to have positive social and environmental outcomes in the places where commodities are produced. We have more than twenty years of practical experience in supporting companies, governments, communities and partners to establish responsible production and sourcing practices in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe and North America. We work within and beyond supply chains: with technical expertise in implementation of responsible sourcing and production, collaboration, landscape and multi-stakeholder initiatives, capacity building, tools and training. Proforest is now made up of 5 regional offices, with over 120 staff globally. We strongly believe change is driven by the local ownership and benefits. Overseen by the Executive Directors Group, Proforest’s structure gives a level of local leadership and allows each region to remain true to the local market while joining forces with peers around the world to bring about impacts which are truly global in scale.

The Role Role:

Global People Director

Location:

Full-time role, based in Latin America and the Caribbean region, preferably in the Colombia office (Cali). Another option could be our office in Brazil (Brasilia). The candidates based in other locations where Proforest has a presence are also welcome (Oxford, UK; Amsterdam, NL; Accra, Ghana; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).

Salary:

Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.

Job Summary

Proforest is seeking an exceptional Group People Director with a track record in leading and implementing people strategy, policies, and systems in a mission-driven international organization. People are the bedrock of Proforest, and enabling our people to thrive in a growing, developing organization is vital to the delivery of Proforest’s mission. Responsibilities • Define the overall people strategy including onboarding, engagement, talent management, performance management, employee relations and reward • Design, deliver and measure the impact of employee engagement plan • Define global HR policies and ensure consistent implementation globally • Lead global talent planning ensuring consistent talent identification and active talent development globally, including retention strategies key talent • Lead strategic projects and support delivery of plans for future growth including wider organizational development work • Generate global reports on staff with useful indicators for decision-making. • Support the development of senior leadership team and future leaders • Design, development, planning and execution of HR systems • Provide /access relevant expertise in performance management, staffing, compensation, employment law • Work with global training lead to define and deliver plans for growing internal capability • Provide guidance to local HR teams ensuring they have the capability to adapt and implement systems and provide support

Candidate Profile Job Requirements These are the key elements you will need to demonstrate to be successful in this role: • An experienced senior leader and manager with HR/People business partner/generalist and organization development experience in a value driven organization • Experience in the design and development of plans for strengthening and appropriation of the organizational culture to be achieved in PROFOREST. • Experience and ability to develop a strategy focused on interculturality and diversity. • Strategic understanding of building people strategy and best practice in a decentralized global organization • Successful track record of leading organizational change in a dynamic and diverse global community • Strong identification with our mission and its implications for our team, HR policies etc. • Ability to think creatively • Excellent leadership and people skills with a resilient, facilitative, and pragmatic approach and the ability to offer solution-oriented HR advice • Excellent and adaptable communication skills and techniques with ability to build and deepen collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and to influence at all levels • Fluency in English is important to work across all our operating regions, while Spanish, Portuguese would be beneficial • Strategic vision with the ability to analyze the different contexts and cultures in the regions in terms of personnel issues.
