MISSISSIPPI CRITTERZ MS Critterz is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide temporary shelter to stray, abandoned and surrendered animals for the purpose of finding permanent suitable homes, to promote adoptions, to find foster homes and to organize transports to reputable animal shelters and rescue groups to help reduce excessive euthanasia with the goal of no-kill 90 percent live release rate, provide low cost spay/ neuter services from participating veterinarians and the humane treatment of animals. In accordance with a contract with the City of Oxford and Lafayette County, MS Critterz only serves the Lafayette County-Oxford community and requires proof of residency from individuals surrendering animals. MS Critterz accepts approximately 4,600 animals each year — from newborn puppies and kittens to geriatric adult
dogs and cats, to guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits and birds. MS Critterz contracts with the City of Oxford to provide Animal Control Services within the Oxford City Limits, phone number 662-8327634.. Dog Licenses are available at MS Critterz or from the Animal Control for $15 per tag for unaltered dogs and $5 for altered dogs.
