…to The Oxford English Centre! Here is the Social Activities Programme we’ve organised for you during your stay in Oxford.
In this booklet you will find details of all the activities planned for the time you are here. Please check in advance what you will be doing each day so you know where and when to meet and if you need to bring anything. The meeting place for all of your activities is Caramba Café or Carfax tower. Please check carefully so you know where you should be meeting. And finally… It is very important that you carry your STUDENT CARD/DRIVING LICENCE OR I.D. AT ALL TIMES. Without it, you may not be able to take part in some social activities. The weather and the programme may change. Keep checking the Social Activities Notice Board!! More information about tours and activities is provided on the Activities board.
Important: All students under 18 must return to their host families by 22.30.

SATURDAY EXCURSIONS! Saturday 2nd of October 2010: STONEHENGE, SALISBURY AND AVEBURY (£33.00) Stonehenge is Britain’s oldest monument, built over 5,000 years ago. Take your time to listen to its amazing story. Later, our guide will show you Salisbury with its spectacular, famous cathedral. Then you will have plenty of time to explore the city. Our magical journey ends in Avebury, like Stonehenge but even bigger!
Saturday 9th of October 2010 STRATFORD AND THE COTSWOLDS (£29.00)
You will start the day exploring the "magic" of the Cotswolds. You will visit the ghostly Minster Lovell Hall, The enchanting town of Burford, with its famous church, before entering the 4,000 Year Old Rollright Stone Circle. On the way into Stratford you will hear the story of Britain's greatest writer: William Shakespeare. On the coach tour you will see the River Avon, the theatres, and New Place before your free time begins…
Saturday 16th of October 2010:
BATH (£33.00 – includes entrance to the Roman Baths Museum!)
With your free audio guide you can take as long as you like to see the 2,000 year old Roman Baths. You will go on a tour around the 18th century city and you will see the Crescent and the Circus – two of the most impressive streets in Europe.
Saturday 23rd of October 2010: LONDON HALF DAY TOUR (£20.00)
You will view Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, St James's Palace, St James's Park, The Mall, Whitehall, Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, The Thames, Whitehall, Horse Guard's Parade, & Trafalgar Square before enjoying free time in England’s capital city!
Saturday 30th of October 2010: CAMBRIDGE (£31.00) You will hear the history of the university and also enter King’s College Chapel. You can spend your free time exploring colleges, walking through lovely meadows, or shopping and visiting the free Fitzwilliam Museum.
