Oxford University Labour Club Trinity Termcard 2016
Co-Chairs:
David Parton and Eleanor Ormsby
Allegations of Anti-Semitism The Oxford University Labour Club fully condemns prejudice and discrimination of any form. We as a club fully condemn anti-Semitism. AntiSemitism is abhorrent, repugnant and contrary to all the values we as a Club, and a part of the Labour movement, hold dear. Recent allegations of anti-Semitism within OULC have warranted an investigation into the Club, and this is something the Executive Committee takes with the upmost seriousness. We are working in collaboration with the national Labour Party to get to the root of these allegations and eradicate any possible taint of prejudice from within the Club. We hope to have the findings of this report available in the coming months. As a first, initial response to these allegations, we are pleased to host John Mann MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group Against Anti-Semitism this term, as a means of publicly confronting the allegations of this abhorrent prejudice.

What this means for OULC now is that unfortunately many speakers who would have loved to visit this term, have now cancelled until the investigation comes to a close and its findings are published. While this is disappointing, in the meantime, OULC will continue to strive to be a welcoming and diverse political society; adopting change in ourself, to replicate in our community.
