SOPPEC HAS BEEN IMPOSING ITS BRAND SINCE 1962 A European leader which continues to score points

KEY EVENTS Founded in 1962 by Christian de Maillard, SOPPEC was initially a Charente-based company which elaborated paints, wood maintenance products and varnishes for professional use. On the eve of the 1990s, the company was specialising in the design, manufacture and marketing of innovative marking systems in aerosols. Intended initially for forestry marking professionals, the SOPPEC aerosols have made a successful name for themselves in the building and public works world, carried by the development of an innovative, patented safety spray cap.

A BRAND WHICH RESPECT MAN AND THE ENVIRONMENT INTERNATIONAL COATINGS CARE® COMMITMENT SOPPEC pioneered the introduction of the COATINGS CARE international programme into France in the 1990s. An initiative specific to the coatings industry (paints, glues and adhesives, inks, etc.), the Coatings Care Programme has been implemented in more than ten countries worldwide, including the USA, Canada, Brazil, Japan, Australia and France, for more than ten years. Its signatories undertake to consider and control the impacts of their activities on health, safety and the environment. They are therefore adhering to genuine ethics of responsibility and on-going improvement.

QSE-CERTIFIED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM The QSE integrated management system is based on three certifications - ISO 9001 for Quality, ISO 14001 for the Environment and OHSAS 18001 for Health and Safety. In these three complementary fields, the SOPPEC approach is based on analysing and preventing risks, on-going improvement of performances, compliance with regulatory requirements and customer satisfaction. The triple certification has been renewed successfully every three years since 2004.

TAKING UP THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT CHALLENGE Today, the certifications obtained by the company and their renewal commit SOPPEC to a path of real sustainable development policy. This policy is henceforth defined in the charter below.

SOPPEC COMMITMENT FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT • Make environmental protection, human health and responsibility for individuals the conditions of its survival. • Promote internally a genuine sustainable development attitude, where social dialogue, awareness-raising, staff training and an organisation to achieve this reign supreme. • Act as an ambassador for sustainable development to its customers, suppliers and partners. • Behave as a socially responsible company by conducting a policy of transparency, on-going improvement and listening. • Contribute to the search for and development of ever-safer products. • Comply with and even anticipate the health, safety and environment regulations for an economically acceptable cost. • Make its ethical and law-abiding behaviour the fundamental rule in its commercial initiatives.
