Registered Health Information Technician (R.H.I.T) or registered Health Information Administrator (R.H.I.A) based upon successful completion of examination requirements of the American Health Information Management Association. 3.) Successful completion of college level courses in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. Experience Requirements: 1.) 3-5 years managing acute care hospital HIM or Coding Department. 2.) Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Position Description: Primary responsibilities are to supervise Medical Records, Scanning and Transcription Departments and function as the organization’s Privates Officer. Individual must maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws, regulatory requirements for HIPAA, CMS and Joint Commission standards and OIG focus areas as it pertains to the protection of health information. This position attends several committee meetings to provide guidance to others in the organization on the medical record topic. Because of the move to an electronic medical record, this person will need to develop new process flows for the departments managed. As Privacy Officer, this individual will work with legal counsel to review HIPAA compliance, investigate potential issues and educate employees of the organization on Privacy issues. Maintenance and development of policies related to the medical record, release of protected health information and privacy technology is required. This individual will be required to work with physicians on clinical documentation issues and orient providers on transcription processes. Annual budget preparation and monthly financial statement review is required to meet set accountabilities.

RESIDENT OF THE MONTH Raymond Sedlacek was born on July 24, 1927 in Illinois. His parents were Frank and Anna Sedlacek. He was one of eight children. He had five sisters and two brothers. Raymond grew up on a farm in Marine, IL. His family lived on and worked 120 acres. They did this for many years without a tractor. They used mules and horses for what they could, everything else was completed by hand. They spent most of their time working, but for fun he played baseball in a league. Raymond attended high school in Edwardsville, IL and he met a girl when was 18 named Fern Gibbs. She, like him, lived in Marine, IL. They married and had three children, Cheryl, Michael, and Tom. Raymond spent most of his life working construction. He worked on the Mississippi River building a powerhouse. He retired as a concrete finisher at the age of 64. He moved to the Ozarks after his wife passed away 13 years ago, following his children. He really enjoys the stay and the staff at RiverLodge.

In August of that year, he began his studies as part of the first class of the Bible Institute of Missouri, located in Springfield . In May of 2004, he married Julie and they now have two sons, ages 6 and 4. Adam now preaches for the Fordland Church of Christ, in Fordland, Missouri, where he has been since June of 2005.
