Inspired by the ECHELON Typeface. I was compelled to make a series of garments with a message that was prominent to me at the time. The message of YOUTH and its prevalence in life. They say youth is wasted on the young. When you look at it the youth are who they are because they’re young. Value your youth, Live young. Make mistakes and learn from them. Our creativity comes from our youth and the beauty of living young is that it has nothing to do with age.

Kathryn Macnaughton is an Illustrator/Graphic Artist currently living in Toronto, Canada. She graduated from Ontario College of Art and Design and has been making pretty pictures ever since. “Combining drawing with collage in a hue of light pastel shades, softening any ‘filthy rautten’ pornographic material, Macnaughton creates random associZtions that some of us might think is fictional mess, but some will see subliminal messages, suggestive imagery of an interpretation of the real. Asides from the women, shapes are prominent, patterns may be used to fill space, add game or are intentionally drawing you towards something, an idea or relationship.” -Raji, The Freak Show

She mainly uses leather throughout the collection, combined with digitally printed and iridescent jerseys producing one-off garments stagewear, aimed at alternative performers, including singers through to dancers and DJs. This is combined with her signature kitsch futuristic style. Shara has created a unique look for the style curious! her debut collection titled ‘The Annunaki’ is a range of individual garments taking on the idea of the second coming / end of the world on the 21st December 2012, with research originating from the Gods of ancient civiisations to create her own future tribe. Her fun, bold and colourful outfits take inspiration from alternative pop culture, 1950s SCI-FI, ancient Eygptian heirarchies, sun worshipping, symbolism and geometry. collaborating with the infasmous shoemaker Terry De HaviIland has helped create the over all look.
