Vadym “Our youth club and yoga – these are two things that helped me to make my life better or, to be more precise, to change my attitude towards ordinary things. Training at the youth club gave me a push towards these changes. …Only after becoming a part of the youth club, I realized that all the changes in my life start with me”
“My name is Vadym Stepaniuk. This summer I turned 18 years old. I am in my third year of study at the Volyn’ Technical College of the National University of Food Technology. I live in a big family. I have four brothers: three are younger and one is elder. My teenage years were hard and I felt that I needed to change something. Besides, I thought that I had psychological issues and, therefore, I was hoping to find solutions to my problems in psychological therapy. However, it was not easy to go to a psychologist by myself, so my friend helped me. He walked me over there and helped to get distracted from the thoughts about the final aim of our walk. Thanks to him, I did not notice how we got to the psychologist office”
“After waiting for a while, I got a session and told to the psychologist about everything I was worried about. We had a conversation and at the end the psychologist advised me to come to the first meeting of the club “How to Become Successful” where she was the trainer. Without much thinking, I agreed, because I was eager to start changing something around myself. This is how I became a participant of a youth club. I could tell a lot, but I would like to tell about the main things that changed my life. Many new interesting acquaintances, even more of new topics undiscovered before and other things that revealed to us during each session. It was both fun and useful. Also, I liked the master-classes very much. During the latter we learnt to do something new; interesting and successful people were visiting us; and accurately at the first master-class I met a yoga instructor, a girl that impressed me a lot. After that training I contacted her and she offered to come to the yoga class, which I did, even though it was scaring me a little. Still, I got very interested in this topic, since I wanted to discover myself from this point of view as well. It has already been 9 months since then and I sill practice yoga and discover new reasons to continue doing this”
“Our youth club and yoga—these are two things that helped me to make my life better or, to be more precise, to change my attitude towards ordinary things. Training at the youth club gave me a push towards these changes...
...I am thanking for that time, knowledge and faith that were given to me. Only after becoming a part of the youth club, I realized that all the changes in my life start with me”

Nastia*
“In the summer of 2014 Nastia moved to Odesa with her stepmother and stepsister. By that time she had become a witness of war hostilities, some of her acquaintances died in warfare. Due to resistance of Nastia’s father to moving to Odesa, the stepmother decided to accommodate her at a hostel for students of a local vocational and technical education institution, thus, refusing to be a part of the girl’s fate. Receiving such attitude from her stepmother affected Nastia in a bad way. She became closed, cried often and wrongfully blamed everything on her own behavior…
“Over holidays Nastia managed to get a job; she found friends and, according to her own words, started to feel happy. The girl thinks that it is thanks to the youth club that she managed to succeed in creating such a positive impact on her own life. This year the girl was among the first participants to mention her readiness to continue visiting the youth club”
“During the time that she participated in the youth club activities, the girl reached significant results in selfdevelopment. First important point of departure was celebration of her Birthday in a pizzeria, where other participants prepared gifts and surprises for her…
*this story was written down by Alla Kyriiak, the trainer
…Her Father did not support the girl, called her rarely. Nastia’s mother has not been involved in upbringing of the girl over several year, even her location is unknown. At the moment Nastia has received status of a child that is left without parental care”
…Later, she enjoyed taking part in a festive photo session that was organized by our partners from “Development” agency. Further on, she also participated actively in the training “I+we” that involved participants of the club…
…With every new training Nastia was opening, communicating in a more eager fashion, taking more active part in the work of small groups. She started to show her best features: benevolence, creativity, interest in our exercises. As she said herself, a great impression on her made the meeting with an interesting person. She was listening about journalism with great pleasure, asked questions, was interested in the secrets of success”

Nastia “After I was done with the training course, I summarized for myself what these trainings have given me. After the trainings I started to smile more, became more opened, sociable, I even found answers to some questions. This is why, I am very glad that I attended these trainings and that I changed”
“Our trainers and myself represented our club at the open space during our one-day visit to Kyiv. I liked it a lot and it was the first time I realized myself, which never happened before…
“My name is Nastia. I used to visit youth club “How to Become Successful”. I liked it a lot, even though at the very beginning I was very reserved and quiet. I attended first trainings without any particular aim, just so I wouldn’t have to sit at home with music and headphones. And then, it simply got interesting and the headphones became a secondary habit. Together with club participants we went to the movies, pizzeria, played bowling. We discussed various topics and this is how I unlearnt how to be all alone and to myself, as I am a pretty reserved person.”
…When people would suggest a topic for discussion, a topic that interests or excites them a lot, I, of course, was just quietly sitting on my chair. But one girl mentioned a question that touches me as well, so I wanted to discuss it in detail. “ And the question was “How to find yourself” (because, really, how does one finds themselves in this life; some people do and some people don’t). Without thinking to much into it, I joined that team. It gathered 10 people in total and at first we were all silent, but I felt emerging confidence in myself, stood up and suggested to start with something and hence I was involved into this discussion from the very beginning and up until the end…
…And in the end, when we had to tell the others about our topic and present our plan, I was the one to do it”
“After I was done with the training course, I summarized for myself what these trainings have given me. After the trainings I started to smile more, to be more opened, sociable, I even found answers to some questions. This is why, I am very glad that I attended these trainings and that I changed”
