As we enter the sacred month of Ramadan, Palestinians continue to face oppression and violence at the hands of the Israeli occupation. While a ceasefire has been called in Gaza, the suffering has not ended— Gaza remains in ruins, its people enduring devastation, displacement, and deprivation. Meanwhile, aggression in the West Bank continues to escalate, and in occupied East Jerusalem, Israel is once again imposing severe restrictions on Palestinian worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
This year, Israel has barred recently freed Palestinian prisoners from entering Al-Aqsa during Ramadan and will deploy 3,000 police officers daily at checkpoints leading to the mosque. Authorities plan to issue only 10,000 permits for Palestinians from the West Bank—limiting access to men over 55 and women over 50. These restrictions are part of a long-standing effort to suppress Palestinian religious and cultural rights, as past Ramadan crackdowns have led to violent raids, mass arrests, and heightened tensions.
Despite these injustices, Palestinians remain steadfast in their faith and resistance. As we prepare for this holy month, we urge our community to set their intentions towards Allah SWT and dedicate this time of worship to standing in solidarity with Palestine. May our prayers, actions, and commitments bring us closer to a future of justice and liberation. Inshallah, we remain unwavering in our pursuit of a free Palestine.
Actions You Can Take Palestine is the holy land
1. Educate Yourself
The first and most important action you can do to support Palestine is to get yourself educated. Read the PACC Compiled Resource Guide. This guide includes the latest reading material, documentaries, and more. It is a live document, and resources are added regularly.
2. Check out our full Advocacy and Solidarity Toolkit
For more tools, actions, a guide on how to talk to kids about Palestine, graphics, and so much more!
3. Follow and share on social media:
Mainstream media outlets are actively censoring Palestine and this is why every voice matters. *Please note that many active and current social media accounts are getting censored and even deleted for posting about Palestine.
4. Social Media Campaigns
Use the collective power of social media to amplify your advocacy during Ramadan. Share stories from Palestinians onthe-ground and uplift Palestinian voices. Create posts, graphics, and videos that highlight the Palestinian struggle, and encourage your followers to take specific actions.
Example Action: Launch a Ramadan Social Media Mobilization campaign using hashtags like #RamadanForPalestine, #SolidarityWithGaza, and #BoycottIsrael.

BOYCOTTS, DIVESTMENT & SANCTIONS (BDS)
BOYCOTTS involve withdrawing support from Israel’s apartheid regime, complicit Israeli sporting, cultural, and academic institutions, as well as Israeli and international companies engaged in violations of Palestinian human rights.
DIVESTMENT campaigns urge banks, local councils, churches, pension funds, and universities to withdraw investments from the State of Israel and all Israeli and international companies that sustain Israeli apartheid.
SANCTIONS campaigns pressure governments to fulfill their legal obligations to end Israeli apartheid by banning business with illegal Israeli settlements, ending military and free-trade agreements, and suspending Israel’s membership in international forums such as UN bodies and FIFA.
Make your iftars and Eid celebrations a reflection of your values by practicing BDS. Be intentional about where you shop, what you buy, and where you invest—ensuring your choices do not support companies profiting from Palestinian oppression. Encourage your community to divest from corporations like Caterpillar, HP, and Hyundai, which sustain Israel’s occupation and apartheid.
Take Action:
Organize a Ramadan BDS Campaign – Host webinars, create infographics, and launch social media campaigns to expose companies complicit in the occupation.
Check Your Investments – Contact your financial advisor or HR department to ensure your funds aren’t tied to companies that fuel Israeli apartheid.
Take Action through BDS
Know What to Boycott – Stay informed about companies, products, and institutions complicit in Israeli apartheid.
Join A BDS Campaign – Get involved in organized efforts to hold Israel accountable through economic and cultural pressure.
BDS & AMP Boycott Dates – Align your boycott efforts with key mobilization dates and follow American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) for strategic boycott actions.

What is the significance of Palestine in Islam?
Palestine is the holy land
1. Jerusalem (Al-Quds)
Islam’s third holiest site, home to Al-Aqsa Mosque. Al-Aqsa is the first directions Muslims prayed to (Qiblah).
Prophet Mohammed PBUH’s trip to Dome of the Rock (Qubat Al-Sakhra) in the Isra wal Mi’raj, the night journey to Heaven. Every year, during the Holy Month of Ramadan, Israel invades and attacks worshipers of Al-Aqsa.
Palestinians are the protectors of the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque.
2. Palestine is the land of the Prophets
Many prophets were born or died in Palestine, including Prophets Ibrahim , Lut, Dawood, Suleiman, Musa, and Isa, (peace be upon them).
3. The unshakeable faith of the people of Gaza
There has been a new wave of conversions to Islam because of how deeply inspired the world is by the faith of the people of Gaza. We must allow the faith of those suffering to be a reflection upon ourselves, and a constant guide to doing better as an Ummah.
Reset Your Ramadan Intentions for Palestine
Ask yourself: What is the true meaning of Ramadan in a time of injustice?
Culturally, Ramadan is marked by iftars, community gatherings, and celebrations, but its essence runs much deeper. This year, as Palestine endures relentless oppression and Gaza struggles to rebuild from unimaginable devastation, let us return to the true spirit of Ramadan.
Ramadan is a month of worship, ibadah, and steadfastness. It is a time to strengthen our connection with Allah SWT, to make duaa for the people of Gaza and all of Palestine, and to stand in solidarity with those resisting oppression across the world. Let this Ramadan be one of unwavering faith, action, and commitment to justice.
Duaa for Palestine
“O Allah, rectify the affairs of the Muslims in Palestine. O Allah, rectify the affairs of the Muslims in Palestine and in every place. O Lord of Majesty and Bounty” 1.
Allahumma aslih ahwaalal-muslimeena fi filisteen, Allahumma aslih ahwaalal-muslimeena fi filisteena wa fi kulli makaanin ya dhul-jalali wal-ikraam.
“Our Lord! Shower them with perseverance, make their steps firm, and give them victory over the disbelieving people.”
Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min dhulmil-mulk, wa min sharri al-qahhar.
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the injustice of rulers and from the evil of the One who exercises power.”

4.
Allahumma ustur ‘awraatihim wa-aamin raw’aatihim wahfadhhum min bayni aydeehim wa min khalfihim wa ‘an aymaanihim wa ‘an shamaa’ilihim wa min fawqihim
“O Allah, conceal their faults, calm their fears, and protect them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and from above them.”
