t’s Best of Marin 2011 Redux—and time to crank up the ol’ Stutz Bearcat for another skidoodle ‘round the county’s fi nest in food, drink, customer service and entertainment. This year, of course, was our salute to the bee’s kneesiest decade of ‘em all, the 1920s—the age of jazz, bathtub gin, and Charleston-crazed It Girls. The decadence of the flapper era is one many Marinites can relate to, as we’ve come to expect the very best from our restaurants nightclubs, home improvement centers and beauty supply companies.While it may seem like only yesterday when Marin’s 200,000-plus residents received the announcement of our 2011 winners, it was actually six months ago when the news broke—and that’s a long time to store our nearly 100 readers-poll standouts in one’s memory banks. And since the key to

any great list is in checking it twice, our 2011 Redux directory will be a must-have during the upcoming holiday shopping, dining and imbibing season. Best of Marin Redux kicks off with our vaunted Hall of Fame, which includes businesses that have won their categories five times consecutively—that right, five times— and are taken out of contention for two years, while they bask amidst the other exalted members of the “hall.” So never mind the Boardwalk Empire— come join the Marin Empire.
