Every day we connect older adults and people living with disabilities with a hub of essential services like transportation, meals, social activities and educational classes that keep them vibrant. These vital resources enable our friends and older family members to live more engaged and active lives for as long as possible. Special Needs Transportation Our specialized door-to-door bus service is available 365 days a year for people challenged with disabilities. Last year we provided 150,000 rides. Schedule a ride: 415-454-0964 Safe Transport And Reimbursement (S.T.A.R.) provides reimbursement for volunteer drivers: 415-454-0969 Meals on Wheels (MOW) Since July 1, 2012, Whistlestop resumed the MOW home meal delivery program for homebound older adults. We will deliver 71,000 meals this year. Please call 415-456-9062, if you would like to be a volunteer meal delivery driver. To sign up to receive meals, call the County at 415-457-4636. Active Aging Center The Whistlestop Active Aging Center welcomes older adults from all ethnicities to a safe, friendly, and enjoyable place to meet new people, find support, and get involved. Active Aging Programs With the goal of helping older adults live active, healthy, and independent lives, we offer classes for the mind, body, and soul. We publish the Directory of Services for Marin’s Older Adults, a comprehensive, specialized phonebook resource and distribute it at no cost.
