100 Years of Scouting In 2010 the Boy Scouts of America is celebrating its 100th Anniversary with activities and programs scheduled throughout the year.
The largest g event in Northern California will be the 100th Anniversary Jamboree at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Northern California 100th Anniv. Jamboree A joint production of Northern California Councils, the 100th Anniversary Jamboree will be a huge gathering of Cubs, Scouts, Sea Scouts, Explorers and Venturers for a memorable weekend of fun and activities. What is it? The Northern California 100th Anniversary Jamboree will be like nothing you’ve ever seen before. It’s probably best described as a combination of: – a National Jamboree – a county fair – a Scout-O-Rama

Mountain Man Rendezvous A Mountain Man rendezvous will take you back to 1841 with authentic reenactors dressed in clothing of the period. Try your hand at:
• blacksmithing g • tomahawk throwing • cooking fry bread • building a log cabin
Special Presentation: A re re-enactment enactment of the Battle of Bunker Hill by Scouts will be performed on 10 Saturday, April 17, 2010!
Order of the Arrow Pow Wow The Order of the Arrow will be holding an area-wide Pow Wow at the Northern California Jamboree Jamboree, with a Plains Indian village and a dance competition featuring traditional, grass, and fancy styles.

Scout-O-Rama Booths Units that would like to bring a traditional Scout-O-Rama type booth or exhibit are encouraged to do so. There are over 200 spaces for booths in two large exhibition halls at the fairgrounds, plus extensive outdoor space for displays that need to be outside.

Camping Scout troops and Cub families may opt to camp at the fairgrounds for up to three nights (Thu – Sat). Cooking may be done in the subcamps although some meals are provided with the camping pass.

How can you participate? • Go with your unit and bring a Scout-O-Rama display or exhibit. • Camp overnight* for the full experience, plus get early admission to the day’s activities! • Stay with your family in the Cub Family Camping area area. • Attend with your unit, but just participate in the activities without hosting g a display. p y • Serve on the Northern California Jamboree staff. • Visit for a single day.
