On behalf of the Montgomery Business Association, welcome to Montgomery FunFest! We are excited to have started a tradition here in Montgomery of celebrating our local community. With more than a hundred and thirty booths showcasing local businesses, services, art, crafts, culinary delights, and more, our 4th annual FunFest is guaranteed to be a great success! We are thankful that FunFest has been well received by the community and are proud that it reflects Montgomery’s community spirit. Our goal is to create a town tradition and we appreciate that so many local business members, restaurants, and community organizations are contributing to the event’s success. As you begin to explore FunFest, visit our food court where you can expect to find a variety of food vendors serving everything from chicken kebob to cheesecake cannoli. Make sure to feast upon tasty treats such as bratwurst sandwiches, gyro, wood fired pizza, empanadas, ice cream, Italian ice, and chocolate chip cookies. Stop by the main hanger to enjoy your tasty treats with seating and music by the Shaxe. Take a break from snacking to enjoy all that FunFest has to offer. You can take a free commemorative photo at one of our photo booths, located at the Welcome Tent and inside the festival. Fire trucks, planes, helicopters, and classic cars are all on display. You can even visit the Honda of Princeton booth to test drive their latest models. Attendees can also enjoy a walk about balloon, games of skill, helicopter rides, rock wall, inflatable obstacle courses, and children’s activities, including face painting, sand art, and balloon animals. During your time at FunFest, we hope you enjoy the abundance of local entertainment spread throughout the festival. The Radio 101.5 Van will be at the event from 2-4 p.m. The bands GoodWorks and Fitz & the Cats will play on the main stage. There will also be demonstrations by local dance studios, martial arts studios, Princeton Center for Yoga & Health, Little Gym, and Gymboree with interactive activities for the whole family. Montgomery FunFest is truly a community centered event. The goal of this annual event is to connect individuals, families, schools, local businesses, and non-profit organizations to celebrate our community. We can’t wait to see the members of our community gather together and enjoy a wonderful day at FunFest. Make sure to stop by all our local businesses’ booths to learn more about the wonderful services they offer. Montgomery Business Association members will be selling merchandise and many will be offering free gifts. Our success today is due to the dedication, generosity, and hard work of our FunFest committee, sponsors, and volunteers. We truly appreciate the collaborative effort that has gone into making this event an enjoyable day for all. We are particularly grateful to our sponsors without whom FunFest would not be possible. Sponsors include, but are not limited to, Packet Media Group, Montgomery Pediatric Dentistry, 1st Constitution Bank, Honda of Princeton, The Montgomery News, Volition Wellness Solutions, Princeton Airport, and Frank Veronsky Photography. Included in this guide is a list of sponsors, vendors, and performances scheduled throughout the day. We encourage you to explore and enjoy the sights and delights of Montgomery FunFest. Jean Robinson, FunFest Co-Chair Executive Director of Volition Wellness Sept. 9, 2018

Letter from the Montgomery Business Association We are proud to produce the 4th Annual Montgomery FunFest at Princeton Airport. We are excited to host this flagship event celebrating and promoting local businesses, and introducing them to the community at large. When you shop at Montgomery’s local businesses, you help to build a strong, sustainable community. Shop here, dine here, and use our local services. The investment in your community will pay off every day. Recent statistics from the American Independent Business Association (amiba.net) show that for every $100 spent in an independent business, between $48 and $68 stays in the local economy (creating local jobs, funding salaries, purchasing local goods and services). Significantly less money stays in the local economy when national chains and online shopping are considered.
MBA History: The Montgomery Business Association, founded in 2010, grew out of the desires of several community groups to foster local businesses and encourage local shopping: Montgomery Township Environmental Commission, Sustainable Montgomery, Montgomery Friends of Open Space, and the Township Economic Development Commission were all involved in the founding of the 501(c) (6) organization. The founding board members were all local, independent business owners, but we did not limit our membership and advocacy only to independent businesses. Franchise owners and employees of larger businesses live and shop in town as well, and our mission is to build awareness to and drive shoppers towards all Montgomery-based businesses. We also wanted to expand awareness of the many local service businesses in our midst, which are not often located in a visible retail space. The MBA is a non-profit network of local shops, restaurants, and professional service businesses
whose mission is to promote a greater sense of community in Montgomery by supporting our town and each other. We are proud to continue our work on our initial goals: Keep more money circulating in the local economy Protect our environment with less driving Strengthen the sense of community among residents and businesses Enhance the special nature of Montgomery living
Accomplishments: In the last six years, the MBA has been hard at work. We’ve Promoted members through holiday advertising, other print ads, Facebook, at Earth Day, the MFOS Farmers Market, and various local events. Built a network of members who proudly display the ShopLocalMontgomery sign Established the Annual Breakfast with the Mayor Event Hosted Business Networking Social Events and Holiday Parties for our members and friends Offered a series of business education seminars Co-produced (with the Drift Family) the Montgomery Rodeo in 2013 and 2014 Instituted a MBA Welcome Bag Program for new residents (which delivers a welcome bag to all new Montgomery residents!) Launched the First Annual Montgomery FunFest Introduced the ShopLocalMontgomery Special Offer Card which grants discounts/special offers to card holders at every business where the ShopLocalMontgomery logo is displayed. Sign up is available at Montgomery FunFest in the MBA Hospitality Tent! Scholarships to Montgomery Township High School seniors & Crawford House graduates pursuing business. Many hands, from the Township, local organizations, local business owners, and individuals, have made the MBA a thriving organization and we are thankful for each and every one. We’d also like to thank all the MBA members. We continue to have over 100 members in the MBA! We look ahead to a strong finish, and an outstanding 2018, for Montgomery businesses. But most of all, we thank our customers, the community that supports its local businesses and allows us to thrive.
