The India Indigo Project A Print project depicting the India Story in Indigo colors and inspired from print clusters of India. Project Lead: Garima Agarwal (UID Gandhinagar) Indigo dye was once rare and very expensive – a luxury commodity associated with royalty, political power and authority. Known as ‘blue gold’ it was so valuable that, when prices were high, it was used as currency to purchase slaves who were worth their own weight in indigo. Each artwork was hand sketched and then hand painted with the natural dyes. Later the artwork was treated graphically on the software. #indigo #padmarajkeshri #fashion #denim #denimjeans #indigocolor #denimindia #indigomagic #indigofashion
