Lauren and Andrew have been active supporters of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA), with Lauren serving on the Women’s Committee since 2019. She is also the Founder of LAA Art Collective / Wayne Fine Art & Framing in Wayne, PA, where she leads the gallery in supporting regional artists through exhibitions, art advisory, and custom framing services.
Andrew is the Founder and CEO of R:SK Advisory, providing risk management and insurance brokerage services to families, businesses, and mission-driven organizations. Together, they have been long-time supporters of PAFA students, collecting works from the Annual Student Exhibition. The couple resides in Bryn Mawr and is committed to making a positive impact on their community.
Beyond their work in the arts, Lauren and Andrew are deeply engaged in philanthropic efforts across Greater Philadelphia, supporting organizations focused on youth development, community programming, and senior services. They regularly attend PAFA events, further strengthening their ties to the institution.
“Now in its 124th year, the Annual Student Exhibition stands as the longestrunning showcase of its kind—an enduring tradition that highlights the incredible talent and growth of PAFA’s emerging artists as they approach graduation. This year, we also celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Women’s Committee, whose unwavering support continues to champion these exceptional students. With great pride, we congratulate this year’s participants and look forward to witnessing their continued impact they will make in the art world for years to come.”
-Ashley Stewardson McGuinness, President of Women’s Committee

Earliest entry 4:30 p.m.
The Annual Student Exhibition (ASE) serves as an academic capstone presentation and in its 124th year, the ASE is the longest-standing exhibition of its kind.
Through the ASE, student artists curate and install their own art in an esteemed, professional museum of the fine arts, and develop relationships with collectors by selling their work. Student artists retain 100% of the purchase price of each work sold, and the generosity you provide through sponsorships and tickets underwrites PAFA’s professional level student training programs and their public educational programs for students K through 12.
PAFA salutes Pia M.E. Halloran and June Marshall Smith, co-chairs of the Preview Party, and the entire Women’s Committee for their support of PAFA students on this their 75th anniversary.

1950’s
The Women’s Committee was formed on April 12, 1950, at the request of Academy President John Lewis Frederick Lewis, Jr., and Director Joseph T. Fraser, Jr.
In October of 1950, the Women’s Committee held its first meeting and hosted their first event, a garden cocktail party on the grounds of Academy Summer School in Chester Springs.
1960’s
In 1962, the Committee hosted its first Annual Student Exhibition Preview Party. The purpose of the party was twofold: to raise funds for the Academy and encourage the sale of student works.
1970’s
The women assisted the Academy in raising the funds to restore the historic landmark building.
1980’s
The Women’s Committee hosted a block party in 1980 for the Academy’s 175th Anniversary, which was attended by more than 15,000 people.
In 1984, the Committee held an Auction and Gala to celebrate the opening of the Peale House on Chestnut Street.
In 1990, members of the Women’s Committee sought a fundraising event that would introduce the Academy to a larger audience. The concept of an exposition and sale focusing exclusively on American art seemed a natural fit for an event to benefit the nation’s first school and art museum.
The inaugural USARTISTS was held in 1992, which included the USARTISTS Special Needs program, the first program at any national arts fair that provided touch tours for the visually impaired.
In 2001, PAFA awarded the Founder’s Day Medal to the Women’s Committee. The same year, they pledged their largest gift of $500,000 towards the Academy’s Campus Capital Campaign which was fulfilled in 2006.
2006 was the first year the prestigious Women’s Board TravelScholarship was given as a prize at the Annual Student Exhibition.
