What is B ALBUM? It’s an imaginary journey through one year of life of emerging supermodel - Basia Szkaluba (IMG Models, New York). The B letter, [be:] is her name initial and a word used to describe different states of mind pictured in this album.
The project was developed in total secrecy. Only three people knew about it: Basia, her mom, Kasia and me, the photographer. Our aim was to create an album of simple, straightforward photography. Hence, you won’t find here any designer rags, stylized hair or make-up. Just pure, raw beauty of Basia.
Every month of the year, we were meeting with Basia at exactly same place - a lakeshore, not far away from the place where Basia lives. We wanted to create a sensation of passing time and changing of seasons. Everything was done in very rare moments of Basia’s spare time - between her school studies and professional model work. So, the timing had to be perfect. Additionally, we did a number of side-sessions, when the mood was right and we felt the need to save the moment.
The year passed... Now, we can enjoy the contents of this album. A unique photographic tale, based on emotions and awareness of surrounding environment.

“A White’s Tale of Spring” White’s Metaphor and the Recreation of Life in Fashion

The season of Spring. . .a time of rebirth, where the activities and work of Mother Nature (while being hidden in the mystery of winter’s blanket) are presented for all to see. The fruits and salacious nectar decorates the blanketed land, and the visibility of the naked eye leads us to the myriad of color. It is the color of white that maintains the theme of Spring. And it is the color of that which showcases the visibility of the unseen through the naked eye. White is a byproduct, or rather, the accumulation of the creation which had been imagined in Winter’s darkness. This intriguing color showcases, and reflects the essence and appearance of the texture of soil, when the seeds have already come into fruition. In the world of high fashion, the color white sings many songs. It paints many pictures, and it is the image of Mother Earth when she has fully presented her ability to create. When white begins to sing, it sings the a tune of renewal, rejuvenation, and recreation. She sings the ability to reflect away all colors, as each had been properly nourished and cultivated while in the nest of her darker sister. Throughout the fashion world, and the anticipation of various Spring collections, white begins to not only take on a multitude of variations, but also is able to intertwine herself with others that have the ability to showcase her existence. Her annual personifying of Spring each year is none other than her ability to dance and immerse with other colors in her own way. And with each new coming of Spring her ability to recreate herself and direct away the recreations of others allows for more anticipation in imagining her other possibilities of style and décor, while she rests in winter’s embrace.

“Myth” of the Silent Garden” A Recap of Summer 2011 Berlin Fashion Week By: Lauren K. Clark From the vibrancy of pink embraced in the red, sultry sashes to the vigilant highlights of leopard print, the showcase of designers for the 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion week in Berlin, Germany embodied a moveable painting, where each segment provided renditions on a new elixir of Spring. Each feature presented a feature of Earth’s erotic assets. And each collection presented its own tale, elixir, and sensuality of Spring. The collection of Alexandra Kiesel represented a sincere essence, where nature had the ability to reform herself into a pattern of geometric rigidity, while also maintaining natural poise and grace. Of course there was the work of Hien Le, whose reflection of pastel colors, and reinvention of white embarked on a silent whisper of the continued cycle of Spring’s austere scent of that which had come to existence. Then of course it was the sassiness of Spring that was heavily reflected in the work of Anja Gockel. With “up do” hairstyles of spherical nature, such a collection was an embodiment of nature making it known that her presence was under her own accord and control; mankind was heavily absent within this particular joyride. Throughout each and every collection, one can notice the harmony and beauty of each delicate attribute, which had been birthed from the realm of the unknown. It was an intrinsic detail, where nature spoke for herself. She was a collection of many voices. Not one was to contradict or oppose the other. Rather, it had become a harmonious myriad of stories, regarding how Spring were to speak, when she is no longer silent.
