Animation How to

Animation in Imageready This basic animation shows a change in position only. Imageready can only animate position, opacity and layer effects.

1. Item to animate is on it’s own layer Make sure it’s in the “starting position” for your animation

3. Position item to be animated in a different position in the layer

2.

Create an additional animation frame by clicking this icon

4. Choose tween from the pullout menu in the animation panel

5. Indicate how many frames, or “steps will go between (tween) your beginning and ending positions

When you click OK Imageready will calculate and create the news frames

This is the Play button You can control how many times your animation will play using this pull down menu

6.

The speed of the animation is determined here. Each frame can be a different speed.

Imageready allows you to change your animation after tween frames have been added. In the above example, I’ve decided to have my animation move horizontally across (rather than diagonally as in the original animation). To achieve this, I chose the last frame of animation, then moved the square to the desired spot in the layer.

7.

Select all animation frames(shift key while selecting, or choose select all frames from animation panel pulldown) Choose tween using icon, or from pulldown

Imageready automatically readjusts the frames of the animation

More!!! Imageready will ONLY create tween frames from: singles layers position changes opacity changes layer effects However, you can still create animation by manually creating the changes in the layers first. In this example, my end goal is to have the clock animate in 5 minute intervals. I isolated the clock hands, and created a layer for each position change.

Create additional animation frames as needed to hold each movement change. One by one, choose each frame of your animation. Decide which layer(s) should be visible (eyeball icon) In this example, I have the last frame of my animation selected The top layer is showing the clock hands at the correct position All other layers with “hands have their visibility toggled off

“Slide Show” 1. Begin by making a separate layer for each image in your animation. Results will be best if images are the same size

2. Create additional animation frames for each image. For a “non-fade” type animation, adjust the speed and you’re done!

3. If you prefer a “fade-in” type of animation: select two of the animation frames select tween from the pull down indicate how many frames/steps between

Imageready “tweens” frames and the effect is a transition between the two initially selected frames.
