I believe

This is what I believe & this is how I feel...

I believe that giving a child freedom & space will lead you to unimaginable places.

When was the last time you got lost in the joy of the moment?

Children do it all the time. It was a windy, overcast day and we started second guessing ourselves. Should we reschedule? But then K. just started spinning, jumping, running and twirling. She felt beautiful and she looked beautiful. This image grabs me by the heart because it is the way I feel every time I get behind my camera. It encapsulates why I am a children’s photographer. Why? Because given the space, children will always surprise you and teach you something. It wasn’t too windy or cold. It was the perfect time for a photo session. March 2012

I believe that belly laughs can cure just about anything

In the blink of an eye... Look at how happy this little one is, spinning uncontrollably with her big sister on her 5th birthday. Can you hear them giggling with abandon? Now look again. It was only just yesterday when she came home as a newborn and it will only be tomorrow when she turns and says, I got it, I can do it myself. Images capture a moment in time and beautiful emotional images evoke a lifetime of memories. May 2012

I believe that what you give to the world is returned in multiples.

In the eyes of your child... Whether they’re 7 months old or 17 years old, your children will always treasure images of you together. I promise. They are completely blind to your perceptions of fatigue, wrinkles, weight or bad hair. What your child does see is how much they are loved by you and that makes you both feel special. Honest. I see it and hear it all the time. I know how much you love your children and I know how much they love you. April 2012

Life is busy Play dates will never end, games and recitals will come and go with the seasons and appointments are just a fact of life. Life is busy. BUT your children will only be this age just once. Schedule time for a photo session. The rewards...captured memories that increase in value with every single day that passes. WAIT and years from now you’ll find all that busy-ness led to nothing but a closetful of ripped tutus, muddy cleats and a few broken party favors. It is never going to be the perfect time for a photo session because life is busy and imperfect. Stop and grab a few of those moments to make beautiful pictures and memories. NOW is the time for a photo session. October 2011

I believe in happy accidents, spontaneity

and serendipity.

Family life is never perfect

This family (of 6) photo session started with one headache, a child crying from hurt feelings and yet another child on the verge of a full blown meltdown. I know the parents walked away thinking, well that didn’t work. But you know what, it did! The images from this session are beautiful and my clients were ecstatic. Family life is NEVER going to be picture perfect, but perfect, quite honestly, is boring. Crazy, quirky, real life moments are the ones that tug at your heart and make you smile. Stop making excuses. Now is the perfect time for a photo session. Sept. 2012

Follow your heart and stop thinking so much! This little guy is 4 years old. He’s my son. And now he’s 12 almost 13. My eyes are welling up with tears as I write this. I feel like it was yesterday that I took this picture. Just recently he did something both my husband and I were extremely proud of. He got in a fight. I know, crazy, who is proud of their son for getting into a fight? I’m not going to get into the details but bottom line, he didn’t think, he followed his heart and his gut to defend a friend for a very good reason. It’s amazing how your children become so much better than you ever thought possible. When was the last time you followed your heart whether it made sense or not? This summer have ice cream for dinner. Splash in the water with your kids until you can’t stop laughing. Stop thinking so much and follow your heart. Time flies by too quickly not to. June 2012

This is what I know... I know that my children take my breath away. I know that when I watch you, watching your children, time stops. I know that your children are only this age just once.

Do you feel the same way? I’d love to hear from you... About me I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. I’m a natural light photographer and chasing children and light are what I do best. Age: young enough to chase children, old enough to know not to tell. Favorite Food: peanut butter, homemade chocolate chip cookies. A perfect day is: biking, beaching or skiing with my family, date night with my husband. When I grow up I want to...do exactly what I’m doing now. Favorite part of being a photographer: watching you fall in love with your children all over again.
