This journal is dedicated to the intentional ones, those who know that what we do with the time we’re given is of the utmost importance. May you cling to the truth in your walk daily.

I think there is something powerful about the written word that cannot be underestimated. Taking quiet time to sit, reflect, and write by hand about our days gives us a chance to process our feelings, make sense of our experiences, and gain new perspectives on this precious life He has given us. For me, journaling is a gift because it gives me something to revisit whenever I want to remember what I was feeling or thinking during a particular season of my life. It’s incredibly special to preserve those memories and life lessons so that I can appreciate them for years to come. I have a feeling you feel the same way if you’re reading this. Journaling by hand also provides a tangible experience that you just can’t get typing away on your computer or phone. Cherish this as an opportunity to slow down, honor your thoughts, and store them on these pages that you can hold in your hands and carry with you along the way.

3. Forgiveness/Letting Go - This prompt helps us to not dwell on things we can’t change, and find the strength to move on. Physically writing this one down is important in the process of letting go over time. (See Ephesians 4:32)

How we experience the world is based on so many factors: where we live, how we spend our time, who we surround ourselves with, and what choices we make for ourselves along the way. With so many things demanding our attention, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and fall victim to the hardships of our world. But when we’re faced with those hardships, we always have the choice to see the good, knowing this world is not our home. We have the option to choose hope over fear, positivity over pessimism, and abundance over scarcity. In other words, we have the choice to view our challenges as opportunities to grow and to be changed.

I created this gratitude journal because it’s the tool I always wished I had for my own personal daily reflections, self-growth, and walk with the Lord. It’s a simple and beautiful place to meditate on my days—a journal that invites me in, yet isn’t overwhelming to write in. It’s a place to be intentional about my time and my heart. This isn’t just another gratitude journal, because I think there’s more involved in growing deep roots of gratitude than quickly acknowledging a couple things you’re thankful for each day. There’s nothing wrong with that style of journal, but that’s not what this one is for. This journal touches on gratitude, kindness, forgiveness, growth, and prayer each day you choose to use it, so those thoughts linger with you day in and day out. It leaves you consistently seeking good in your situation and encourages upward growth. Consider this journal a tool to help you get from point A to point B in the season of your life you choose to use this by doing the personal heart work this journal brings forward.

2. Kindness - This prompt encourages us to find ways to spread kindness to those around us each day, in ways big or small. (See Luke 6:35)

1. Gratitude - It’s important to start here first each day. This prompt guides our hearts to see the good in each day we are given. No matter how hard the day might have been, something good can always be found. (See 1Thessalonians 5:18)

INTRODUCTION Heart of this Journal

Learning to lead a life of abundance—one where we embrace our days with a whole-hearted “yes and!”—is the exact reason I created this journal. The writing prompts I selected for each day are the heart of this book and ones that I hope will offer you comfort and courage for personal growth and reflection. Each prompt is an area of life I find important to check in on daily, and I paired each below with a scripture as to why it was chosen for the journal. Take a minute to dive into your Bible and look up each one listed below:

5. Prayer - This prompt connects you with Our Heavenly Father and allows you to witness your own answered prayers over time through the use of this journal and reading back on past entries. (See 1 John 5:14)

6. Highlights - Consider this one a bonus. It’s a place to document a brief history of your daily life as it unfolds alongside your growth journey within these pages. It’s a way to help jog your memory during this season of reflection and intentionality.

I’ll end with this: It is my biggest hope that this journal becomes a valuable tool for you as you navigate your way through this season, no matter what it may look like for you. Here’s to always looking for the light, and being a light that shines on those around us.

4. Mindfulness/Growth - This prompt gives us space to document and relish in what we’re learning as a child of God. It can be anything on your heart. Literally anything. (See Proverbs 1:7)

The entries are short and sweet, making them easy to complete at the end of each day as a form of self-care and thanksgiving. By the end of 100 days, it’s my hope that you are able to look back on what you’ve written and contemplate the ways you’ve grown during your time of using this journal. And, if you miss a day, that’s okay too. Don’t feel any pressure or failure if you don’t find quiet time to sit and write every single day. The fact that you are showing up for yourself at all in this way deserves praise. Read that last part again. The fact that you are showing up for yourself at all in this way deserves praise.

The words of scripture found at the start of each entry were collected from people who have shown up for me along the way. These individuals come from all different walks of life and have been a part of my own journey of faith and growth. It was important to me to gather the verses that have motivated, encouraged, and moved them, and share them here with you. Doing so felt like a gentle way to remind us all that we are not alone in this journey through life. The importance of community cannot be understated, and a valuable part of any gratitude practice is taking time to cherish the people who lift you up and make you feel whole. After you’ve written your thoughts for the day, I encourage you to linger for a little while longer on each daily scripture found at the top of each page. Pull out your Bible, look them up, and read them in context. You’ll get even more out of the use of this journal by diving deeper into the verses provided. The verses included in this journal cover a wide array of topics, and I pray they serve as a jumping off point for your own personal studies in the Word during this season.

DAY ONE | Before You Begin

As you look ahead to these next 100 days, take a moment to write down where you are currently at in your life. You’ll be revisiting this later. Reflect on your joys, your struggles, your cares, or your concerns right now. Maybe you are starting a new chapter, a new job, or a new relationship. Maybe you’re grieving the loss of a loved one. Maybe you’re feeling a bit apathetic about life and need a spark. If someone were to ask you, “How are you? No really, how are you?”, what would you say? That’s what you should pen here. Being honest with yourself isn’t always easy, but it is a gift that pays dividends in the long run. This is your starting point. Go.
