EDITOR’S LETTER Dear New Jersey District Board,
International Convention is in just days! It can’t come any slower; suspense is killing me! Apart form that, the ELIMINATE Week that rescheduled was a success. Even though some of the other districts w confused by why we had our week scheduled in June instead of original week, our week shined.
Some divisions had dances and others had fundraisers in order to h support, raise awareness, and fundraise for the ELIMINATE Proj This year, my home club did something pretty special—we had our f Key Club Olympics featuring a bracket of teams competing to t home gold trophies. Each team donated to the ELIMINATE Project purchasing ELIMINATE themed headbands, water balloons, and freshments were sold to further the fundraising.
All in all, the whole event was amazing on a multitude of levels. Firs save babies from Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT) and raise moral of ELIMINATE week. Second, it helped bring Key Clubb closer as well as show non-Key Clubbers a little bit of what Key Clu about: team work, leadership, and friendship.
That’s all I got to say about how my ELIMINATE Week was. Can’t w to see you all at International Convention! Yours in Caring and Service, Pak Chau 2013-2014 New Jersey District Editor New Jersey District of Key Club International Egg Harbor Township High School Key Club

Since there was no entrance fee for the teams, how did the club make money to support the ELIMINATE Project though the Key Club Olympics? Above is an infographic explaining how things like refreshments, headbands, water balloons, and donations helped raise $111.46 and save 61 mothers and their children!
E WEEK
I| Intermission After the first two events, competitors needed a break so refreshments were sold during a short period of time in the middle of the events. Other then the intermission being a food break, teams also got the chance to bond closer to other teams as well as with other members of their same team. Water balloons were also offered to soak unsuspecting attendees. 3| Event Number Three: Wheel Barrel Race This event was another race that depended on the teams correctly matching two of their competitors together. The two chosen racers had to work together—one person was on only his arms while the other held that person’s legs up. Like the three-legged race, they had to race up a hill! 4| Event Number Four: Tug-of-War The classic game of tug-of-war made its appearance in the games as the final event. Opposing teams pulled their hearts out in a final attempt at points in a competition of pure strength. The last event pulled some towards victory and dragged others to defeat. C| Closing Ceremonies After all the events were over, the points were tallied up and the teams that were victorious received their prizes. The final amount fundraised was also announced and with that, the First Annual Egg Harbor Township High School Key Club Olympics came to an end.

COLOR With the new Brand Guide distributed by Key Club International, some old colors from the Graphic Standard manual were removed and new colors were instated. Even though you might just decide to pick colors based purely on aesthetics, some colors actually have symbolic associations with certain abstract ideas or values. Certain colors also synergize with other colors. For example, the classic red and blue look great together as they contrast one another. However the light blue and dark blue also work well together to highlight one another’s lighter and darker shades. In contrast, certain colors should not be put with certain colors. In general make sure not to use colors that would look too funky or tacky together. For example, orange and purple creates an eyesore when used as a color scheme and orange and green is also another hard-to-pull-off combination.
