bff ’ s Lovers come and go, but best friends are here to stay! You have had your best most memorable, stomach hurting laughs with them. They have an uncanny way of reading your mind. They keep you focused, pick you up when you are down and are always there which is simply priceless. You may be hating them sometimes but that’s only because you love them. We get two best friends to tell us what they love and hate about each other.

Travelling is great fun. You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our new section, planes, trains & automobiles! Where did you choose to go and why? I decided to apply for an experience where I could volunteer abroad. A few places came up but none were as appealing as Sri Lanka. I wanted to experience a culture that was in a lot of ways similar to that of Pakistan's but also very different. In the end I got the chance to do some good in a country that I have always admired because of its resilience. Who did you travel with? I volunteered with an organization called Sri Lanka Volunteers and I worked in their performing arts placement. They picked who I travelled, worked and basically lived with for the one month I was there. I had amazing luck because I got to travel with 3 wonderful Brits and two fellow Pakistanis, one of whom

was coincidentally a great friend and my first ever director! Where did you stay? For 5 days of the week we stayed in a little home stay with a Sri Lankan family in a remote part of Sri Lanka known as Bandaragama. The closest major city to us was Panadura. We were free to travel on the weekends and Sri Lanka is pretty easy to explore because public transport is excellent. On the weekends we stayed in multiple places such as Kandy, Colombo, Sigiriya and even beach towns like Galle. What are the best shopping spots there? I've never been much of a shopper but I guess some of the greatest places to shop for souvenirs are the streets them-

Tell us about the sites that noone should miss out on Oh wow, thats a hard one. I guess one of the best places in terms of sightseeing that I went too was the Sigiriya Rock. Its basically this ancient palace built upon a rock that is 250 meters high. Its a world heritage site and is absolutely not to be missed out on. The mountainside of Kandy is also pretty great and theres this one hotel there called “Helga's Folly” that was one of the highlights of my trip. Its a hotel that goes back until the 1800s and artists from all over the wall have adorned her wall with incredible pieces of work. Its a great place to have dinner and bask in the ambience of the cool mountain air.

Finally, any tips? Be careful with how much food you can eat, Sri Lankans love to feed you and as such have absolutely huge meal portions. Don’t be aghast if people come unto you on the street and ask you where you are from, where you might be going etc. This is just an everyday thing in Sri Lanka because they are very curious about foreigners. Make friends with the beach boys but don’t party it up with them, they can be very elusive. And finally, always remember to greet everyone with “Ayubowan”. Its a great country and I can’t wait to go back again. Sri Lanka will always have a place in my heart.

Suggest places for a perfect night out. That depends on what you would define as a “perfect” night
What can you do over there to relax and unwind? Oh my goodness there is so much to do! You could take a day trip to the beaches of Galle or Unawatuna, you could go to the mountainside of Ella or Kandy, you could go shopping in Colombo and embrace the nightlife, you could even go on a trip to the Jungle and go White water rafting. Sri Lanka is literally such a chilled out place to be and theres lots to do for everyone.

Suggest some amazing restaurants there? Again, I explored Sri Lanka in a way that not many tourists get too and as such I tried foods that most people wouldn’t. There is this one place in Maharagama called “Royal Food Court” that doesn’t seem very easy on the eye but the food there was probably my favorite in all of Sri Lanka. Theres lots of different foods to eat, do not miss out on the Kottu if you get the chance to eat some!
out. For the Bar hoppers and clubbers theres plenty of places in Colombo to go but I would suggest you stay away from bars in any other cities. My perfect night out was on the beach because I got to relax and unwind at all the dance parties and was able to enjoy a midnight swim to clear the head. Aragom bay is a great place to go if you want to combine your love for the beach and crazy partying!

selves. The streets of Sri Lanka is where I did most of my shopping. If you’re looking for more high end stuff I'd definitely suggest the malls in Colombo.

Monday through Wednesday, you’re trying to get a jump on the week. You want to get as much done as possible, and to get ahead without making it look like you’re trying too hard. After all, wouldn’t it be great for your reputation if you could make magic happen and not break a sweat? You’re going to need help, and you know exactly whom to ask. Motivate them well. Thursday and Friday, a group meeting reveals that everyone more or less thinks of you as being in charge. You’re a natural leader. This weekend, do what you can to shine light on other people.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are excellent days. Some travel plans get finalized (you can’t wait!), someone who thinks they’re much smarter than you concedes that you were right and they were wrong about something (your head’s getting big!) and someone you’ve never understood explains their side of things (you’re learning!). Thursday and Friday are a little less than excellent — a power struggle is in the stars and your friends are being weird. But Saturday and Sunday, your friends are back to normal and one in particular is in need of an update. Spend an evening together and fill them in.
Monday through Wednesday, nothing is as it seems. You can tell something’s up, but that doesn’t help you. Try to draw people out, but don’t work too hard at it. Some things take time. It’ll all become clear soon enough. Go into Thursday and Friday with an open mind, because something radical is under way, and you’re going to find out about it. The more prepared you are to have your point of view completely turned around, the better. This weekend, occupy your brain with something creative. Postpone all thoughts of math and politics and communicating with other people (unless you’re thinking about them creatively).

Monday through Wednesday are kind of gloomy, but not in a very noticeable way. It’s more like an afterthought, a background thought, a not-all-thatdistracting feeling. Mostly you just feel unbalanced. But don’t worry, because on Thursday and Friday, the feeling evaporates in the heat of a romantic bender. And not only are you getting along fantastically well with you-knowwho, but you’re getting along fantastically well with everyone. Saturday and Sunday, try not to be swayed by people who don’t fully understand your goals. Your plan is good and right.
Monday through Wednesday draws on your powers of determination and selfcontrol. You’re under intense scrutiny at work, for whatever reason. (A promotion on the horizon? You never know.) In any case, you work incredibly well with other people. This may explain why everyone wants to be on your side. If only you were so appreciated at home! This is a common refrain in your mind, but it’s especially true Thursday and Friday. Expect something unexpected in the domestic realm. Saturday and Sunday, all the worries wash away in a wave of romance.

Monday through Wednesday, you find your outlook subtly affected by the amount of money in your wallet. Specifically, you have a desire to keep more of it in there. It’s true that no amount of money can buy you a good time; even a day skiing in the most fantastic setting of all would be for naught if you weren’t into it. Most of the pleasure you get out of the week is social, and most of your social time is on Thursday and Friday. You love talking to someone from a completely different social group. This weekend, if you feel like you should leave the house but you don’t really want to, don’t.
Monday through Wednesday is pretty much what you always want in your workdays: lots getting done, a happy outlook, high energy, recognition in the areas where you deserve it. Of course, the compliments from your good friends are the ones that mean the most, but even people you barely know are impressed. Thursday and Friday you’re given to daydreaming about the future. You can’t help it: Things look really good from where you are! Saturday and Sunday, put all of your energy.
From Monday through Wednesday, every fiber in your being is telling you to climb out of the cockpit and onto the wing to repair any problems. But you know full well that you can’t climb out of the cockpit and fix the wing — you’ll get sucked into outer space! You have to keep flying the thing. That’s the first half of your week. Again, you want to keep on flying. On Thursday and Friday, you’re in beautiful territory. Blue skies. Friends nearby. A clear sense of your future. Saturday and Sunday, you’re trying to reconcile the fantastical stuff about the world with the everyday.

Monday through Wednesday, watch your words. Something flippant and funny and just a little biting might really rattle someone — even if you’re absolutely, obviously kidding. Offhand comments have a way of sinking into people, and you don’t want people you adore walking around slightly damaged by you. Thursday and Friday, the thing you’re trying hardest to do might be a waste of your time. Consider letting go. Saturday and Sunday, as much as it seems like you should make a financial decision, put it off until next week. You’re still letting your plan take shape in your mind.
