saadia mirza roses in rain
The inspiration ethos of this collection is based in a dreamscape crystalline dewdrops over the velveteen petals of a rose and raindrops creating an opulent effervescence in a foggy ambience, spotted sporadically by the sudden brightness of colour from the flowers. Heavily embellished with Swarovski crystals and Gara work, this collection is ethereally feminine. Designed with exquisite chantilly lace, rich silks and tulle; 'Roses in Rain’ plays in the shades and nuances of smokey greys and sparkly silvers, accented with shades of pink, peach and green. Layered and tasseled with fluid shapes and an ample dash of bling and cutwork, Roses in Rain is an anthology of Saadia Mirza's signature style. Brand: Saadia Mirza | Photography: Alee Hassan Model: Sadaf Kanwal | Hair & makeup: Saima Rashid Bargfrede Coordination: Umer Mushtaq

th is week, we explore peshawar through the eyes of the photographer , artist, photojour nalis t and freelance photographer k haula jamil. it was her first time here and she was taken in by the sights, sounds and s mells of this beautiful city. like a true ins tagram mer, she wanted to document every th ing at once. here are some of our favo urites :
The Sethi House has 12 rooms, four basements and a fountain. Colourful glass ceilings with geometrical designs, woodwork with engravings of various splendid designs on walls, a big resting place, made of wood and called Takht-e-Sulaimani to take sunshine in winter, beautiful ventilators and slanting window-shades are some prominent features of the house.

It's a real shame that such gorgeous architectural houses do not get made anymore. Perhaps times have changed or perhaps these aren't practical anymore - one can simply be grateful someone in the past was inclined towards having these made.
Exploring the Sethi Mohalla, we ended up walking into this place where they were making halwa.

Does anyone know what he was breaking? It looked hard and like it was something sweet to eat. Peshawar is filled with peaceful people who live in high alert and fear of their lives and yet did not appear untrusting or cold when we walked through their streets. May Allah protect them.
Near the gorgeous Sethi house, the entire mohalla was absolutely gorgeous in the old pre-partition rustic sense. According to Wikipedia, the mohallah contains seven house. Each of these houses are a blend of the art and architecture of Gandhara and Central Asia. The first was built by Haji Ahmed Gul in 1882.

how to maintain healthy hair THE SECRET TO BEAUTIFUL HAIR ISN’T A SIMPLE TRIP TO THE SALON OR AN EXPENSIVE SHAMPOO - IT’S YOUR LIFESTYLE! WEAKENED FOLLICLES, HAIR LOSS AND BRITTLE HAIR ARE A RESULT OF WHAT YOU EAT, HOW YOU FEEL, YOUR DAILY ROUTINE AND YOUR OVERALL HEALTH. THESE SIMPLE TIPS, IF FOLLOWED REGULARLY, WILL GIVE YOUR HAIR THE HEALTH AND GLOW IT DESERVES!
1 Eat Healthy, Not Less Dieting is a big part of the modern world, but we don’t realize how much it impacts our bodies from the inside and outside. The secret is to eat healthy and your hair will thank you later! Foods like meat, fish, eggs and bone broths are extremely beneficial for hair health, because these proteins contain necessary fats that help promote healthy hormones and healthy hair.
2
Don’t forget your Vitamins!
Are you getting enough Vitamin C and Biotin? Vitamin C produces collagen, improves iron absorption and boosts immunity, while Biotin accelerates hair growth and strengthens the roots. Foods like citrus, spinach and broccoli contain Vitamin C. Foods like nuts, berries, and fish contain Biotin.

3 Don’t Brush Wet Hair Wet hair is breakable and easily damaged by brushing or styling, especially if you use flat irons or curling rods. Always wait for your hair to air dry before styling it, and try to give it a break from all that heat. Au naturale is never a bad thing!
Goes 4 Massage A Long Way
Who ever said NO to a massage? Give yourself or get yourself a scalp massage once a week to stimulate your hair follicles, increase blood circulation and to relieve stress. Try Sweet Almond Oil and Castor Oil for ultimate hair benefits.
5 Introduce Yourself To Yoga 6 Yoga and meditation help improve one’s balance, state of mind and overall health, which includes healthy hair! Doing yoga will restrict hair loss and dullness by enhancing circulation, improving digestion, balancing hormones and reducing anxiety.
Use Ayurvedic Wisdom
Bhringraj and Sekakai are two miracle herbs in Ayurveda that are known to enhance hair growth and shine. Bhringraj strengthens the follicles, adds shine, and also delays premature graying. Sekakai is high in vitamins and antioxidants that help fight scalp infections and prevent hair fall. Try Aura’s Hair Rescue Strengthening Oil for healthier hair and shinier locks. This 100% natural oil contains 10 naturally selected herbs, including Bhringraj and Sekakai! 2016

I
the mind, body & soul connection
n today’s world, being healthy has become synonymous with being fit. Salad bowls, green smoothies, no or low carbs and selfies at the gym are all the rage. Everyone seems to know the importance of a healthy body, even if it is means only to fit into one’s favorite jeans. For this, we eat right and exercise regularly. Dietary supplements are a staple in our lives. Fad diets have made many rich and of course some thin. But then why are so many of us depressed, stressed, unhappy and in a constant rush? Why do millions suffer from lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, obesity and insomnia? How many of us truly live in the moment? Financial, relationship, and job stresses are taking their toll on the physical health and our emotional wellbeing. Healthy lifestyle does not only consist of a healthy body but also requires a healthy mind and a nurtured soul. Just like any other organism, the body does not operate in isolation. There is a strong disconnect between our mind, body and soul. Our body is a carrier/vessel for our mind and soul. It’s the only tangible part of us. Our mind makes up the conscious, the sub conscious, memory, intelligence, feelings and emotions. It also controls our body and our relation to the outside world. Our soul connects us to aspects beyond us. Call it universe, higher self or a Higher Being.

For the mind, body and soul to work in harmony to achieve wellness there are requirements to be fulfilled. The body requires: right nutrition, regular exercise and enough rest. The mind requires: positive thoughts, hope, confident self-image, compassion, forgiveness, love, meaningful relationships with one’s own self and with others to manage daily stresses. The soul requires: inspiration, inner calm and trust. It is imperative to get the body, mind and soul to work in synergy to achieve health. One must exercise the body regularly with practices that incorporate strengthening, mind body coordinating and balancing movements. One also needs to relearn how to breathe consciously and to breathe fully. Move freely like a dancer. Healing one’s body with sufficient resting periods, sleep and relaxation is vital. Start reinforcing positive thoughts for your own self and for others. Experience and spread love and gratitude all around. Try to be nonjudgmental. Work on emotional and material attachments. Go out in nature. Absorb the surroundings. Listen. Find stillness. Be silent. Trust intuition. Once we channel our physical energy into soulful purists, we will create a meaningful life, one filled with a sense of purpose, energy and vitality that reflects true health. “I know for sure: Your journey begins with a choice to get up, step out, and live fully.” Oprah Winfrey
