APPEALS TO A DIVERSE MIX OF BUYERS BRISBANE’S INNER EAST IS A BUZZING POCKET THAT COMBINES OLD WORLD CHARM WITH NEW AND EXCITING DEVELOPMENTS.

Place Bulimba Principal Paul Curtain said the inner east offers the main ingredients that buyers look for when purchasing a home.

This family friendly area of the River City is home to classic old cinemas, art galleries, bookshops and stylish eateries which are complimented by open parks, wide streets and close proximity to the city.

“This area of Brisbane is very attractive to buyers because it has it all,” Mr Curtain said.

At the centre of it all is Oxford Street which thrives during the day with fashion houses, eclectic boutiques and chic cafés and comes alive at night with lively restaurants and bars. The Brisbane River is a focal point of this precinct offering the perfect path for a morning run or afternoon stroll while child friendly parks and playgrounds are great to relax in or have a casual picnic. It is for all these reasons that the inner east is one of Brisbane’s most sought-after areas. 2

“The infrastructure and transport options offer easy accessibility, the physical landscape is stunning dating back to the 1920’s and the atmosphere is very family friendly. There are also a number of amenities with more cafés and shops popping up all the time on street corners, there are plenty of education options including some of Brisbane’s leading schools and above all there is a great community aspect.” Accessibility to major infrastructure is key with the inner east spoilt for transport options. There are a number of bus routes servicing this area along with a train line, ferry and CityCat. It is close to The Gabba, one of Brisbane’s major


sporting grounds, and the Gateway Motorway which grants residents easy access to both the Gold and Sunshine Coasts. “Suburbs such as Camp Hill, Norman Park and Morningside grow off the back of Bulimba and Hawthorne which is what we are currently seeing in the local market. “We are also seeing a lot of urban renewal happening around the area as well as rejuvenation programs planned for Coorparoo, Woolloongabba and Stones Corner.” The demand for housing in this area has increased the median value with Balmoral making the Greater Brisbane top 20 list with a 6.1 per cent median value rise for the June quarter while Hawthorne showed solid performance, coming in the state’s top 20 for yearly growth at 20.1 per cent to $1,004,960.
