The entrance exam consists of two written tests: a test of study skills with an emphasis on the knowledge of culture, humanities and social science disciplines and an English language test (reading skills, vocabulary, grammar and the culture of Englishspeaking countries; B2 CEFR level required). For double-major programmes, students also have to follow the procedures required by the other subject. The entrance interview for the Ph.D. programme in politics is open to graduates of the MA programme in politics. However, graduates of related humanities and social sciences can apply for the admission examination if their Ph.D. thesis relates to the field of political science. Programme content: Ph.D. students are obliged to pass one language exam (not their native language) and the exam in the History of Philosophy. Ph.D. students need to pass an exam in methodology as well as one obligatory and two optional exams in political science. The examinations are held in the form of a scholarly discussion on the basis of required reading. Students determine their choice of final examinations with their thesis supervisor. The examinations are taken before an examination board.

Programme content: The Ph.D. programme consists of five modules: Research, Specialisation, Soft Skills, Pedagogical, and Dissertation. The students must complete a total of 180 ECTS credits, pass mandatory examinations, and submit and successfully defend a doctoral dissertation. The students pursue formal courses, individual and group consultations, and independent research toward the dissertation according to the individual study plan that they draft in consultation with their supervisors.
Application procedure: Applications are accepted usually once a year (enrolment for the winter semester), sometimes twice a year (enrolment for the summer semester).

Programme content: The programme offers the university education in the field of providing the so-called special educational care of people with special needs in different areas of public administration. This study prepares specialists who are able to solve educational, social and therapeutic situations of citizens with a health handicap and its relevant disadvantages. The graduates of the programme are supposed to work in the following institutions: schools and special educational institutions, institutions providing social services, prisons, NGOs, community centres etc.

European and International Law (Doctoral programme, Ph.D.)

Application deadline: May 31st Requirements for the admission: The admission to the Ph.D. studies is based on the admission colloquia the aim of which is to test the knowledge of candidates in the field in which they are applying for, their ability for scientific work, motivation and English language competences. Application form: structured Curriculum Vitae (signed); verified copy of a Master’s degree diploma; course transcript or equivalent of the MA study; doctoral dissertation project proposal - the project proposal of 1,000–1,500 words must define its theoretical or empirical research field, overall aim of the research, state-of-the art discussion of theory and research in the area, suggested methodological approach, and bibliography. if relevant, proof of professional activity in the chosen field of study (such as, lectures, conference participation, non-degree study, publications).
The entrance examination consists of an interview, at which the applicant presents his/her dissertation project. In case of foreign students the faculty may decide on the admission based on the written information (esp. application form, CV, motivation letter, main outline of the dissertation thesis). A Skype interview may also be arranged directly at the exam.
Requirements: The applicant must have a Master’s degree in law at the time of application or be awarded the degree before enrolment. Study Programme content: The Ph.D. study programme consists of five modules: Research, Specialization, Soft Skills, Pedagogical, and Dissertation. The students must complete a total of 90 ECTS credits, pass mandatory examinations, and submit and successfully defend a doctoral thesis. The students pursue formal courses, individual and group consultations, and independent research toward the dissertation according to the individual study plan that they draft in consultation with their supervisors.
