Lighting Capabilities Lighting is a fundamental aspect of every interior design project—it is what brings a room to life. PALECEK HOSPITALITY lamps are wired, tested and UL certified with great attention to detail in our California facility. Like our furniture, our lighting is customizable with modification capabilities that include the ability to add convenience outlets, rocker switches, USB ports, an ADA on/off touch panel, and international plugs.

ORIGINAL CUSTOM

Natural Materials Petrified Wood Petrified Wood is the result of wood turning into stone through permineralization. During this process, all of the organic material is replaced with minerals while the original structure of the tree remains intact. Unlike other types of fossils, which are typically impressions or compressions, Petrified Wood is an exact representation of the original organic material. The petrifaction process begins underground when the wood is buried beneath sediment. The lack of oxygen preserves the structure of the wood while mineral-laden water flowing through the sediment deposits minerals into the treeâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s decaying cells, allowing the stone to eventually form. Colors will vary depending on the nature of the minerals deposited during petrifaction. Fissure lines are a natural occurrence and are part of the beauty. Each piece is unique in color & pattern â&#x20AC;&#x201D; expect variance in your product.

RATTAN POLE A member of the palm family, but unlike bamboo, which is hollow, rattan stalk is completely solid making it a strong option for furniture frames. The skin of the rattan pole is broadly used in weaving as ‘rattan peel’ or ‘cane matting’. Of the hundred plus species of rattan pole, we use the densest, highest quality rattan ensuring long lasting, sturdy furniture.

WICKER & RATTAN CORE Rattan core/peeled rattan is referred to as wicker milled from the core of rattan pole or crafted from synthetic materials. Whether a basket or a sofa, the result is a light yet sturdy product. Natural wicker is well known for its strength and durability and for the high level of beauty and comfort it provides.

ABACA Known for its exceptional strength, abaca is a member of the banana plant family. The inner portion of the plant is resilient and fibrous making it ideal for intricate weaving techniques and artisan work. Its superb flexibility allows for beautiful curvatures in a variety of styles. Abaca is incredibly fast growing, making it naturally sustainable.

SEAGRASS Seagrass is one of the strongest grasses, and is an abundant natural material found around the world. Seagrass lives its entire lifecycle submerged in marine environments, growing in shallow and sheltered coastal waters. We form complete chair and sofa frames from this exceptionally strong fiber resulting in a uniquely beautiful and durable piece of furniture.

PLANTATION HARDWOOD Preserving the planet’s natural old growth forests, plantation hardwood is planted specifically for harvesting. PALECEK and our supply chains select the best woods for beauty and strength, guaranteeing only the finest quality furniture.

VENEER Veneers are a decorative exterior made from thinly sliced and laminated wood. Only the finest and most rare woods are selected to produce our veneer. Very little material is wasted in the cutting process, and by using only a very thin amount of these unique grain patterns, it ensures the conservation of the resource.

PENSHELL Pinnidae, where the penshell gets its name, is a family of large salt-water mussels whose shells range from red-brown to black in color and closely resemble tortoise. The pinnidae are abundant in the ocean and harvested for cuisine throughout the world. The inside lining of the shell is iridescent, making this material a beautiful option to add sheen to a decorative piece.

FOSSILIZED CLAM SHELL Giant Clams typically found at the bottom of the South China Sea, but due to millions of years of seismic activity and volcanic eruptions, this unique material is found high atop remote mountains. Much like petrified wood, fossilized clams go through permineralization, a process of mineral replacement. Fossils are unearthed and often found embedded in ancient lava flow.

COCONUT SHELL Coconuts are a staple of many Asian countries. The shells are sanded smooth, polished, cut into various shapes, and painted or left natural.
