COOK EAT PALEO WHERE TO FIND IT:
Who writes it: Lisa Wells, http://cookeatpaleo.com/contact/ What it’s about: “Welcome to Cook Eat Paleo! I started Cook Eat Paleo to share all the tips and tricks I’ve learned on my journey with the paleo diet. After going gluten, grain, and dairy-free for health reasons, I had to relearn how to cook and bake without all the ingredients I’d always used. And then I had to figure out how to make it easier. 2
Because really, who has time to cook complicated meals every day? I create quick and easy paleo recipes that are gluten-free, grain-free, legume-free, dairyfree (except for the occasional use of ghee), soy-free, and refined sugar-free. And they all use real food ingredients that you can find at your local farmers market, grocery store, or natural foods store. Some recipes may be a little sweeter than is strictly paleo— but sometimes you just need dessert! (source: http://cookeatpaleo.com/about/)

I’ve come by my love of cooking and ability to save money very honestly. My Dad is one pretty awesome cook and taught me everything I know. Of course he taught me that good cooking starts with the basics like prep work and dishes … the prep work lesson stuck {as you’ll see around the blog} but the dishes … not so much, I still hate them {sorry Dad!}. As for saving money — my Yiayia, {Dad’s Mom} was a child of the depression era, which means I learned first hand the importance of coupons, leftovers and having some kind of surplus of the basics. Both sides of me decided to join forces when I went Paleo back in September of 2010 and realized how expensive it is! Why? Because I feel like people will tell you all the time that “Paleo isn’t expensive” Yeah well … I’m calling bull on that right now! If you were anything like me pre-paleo then you were spending $20-$30 a week on groceries and it mainly included bread, pasta, deli meat, eggs, maybe chicken, a few things of produce, lots of jar sauce and cereal. So to go from that weekly budget to being Paleo where it’s really easy to spend $200 a week – is a huge shock to your wallet! 5
And that all leads me to why I created Paleo On A Budget — way back when there wasn’t a place to come and learn how to do this on a budget or to have someone tell you it’s ok to buy store bought meat or not to buy organic if you can’t afford it….” (source: http://paleoonabudget.com/about/)

I have excellent habits 95% of the time. I lift heavy stuff and run and meditate and practice yoga. I eat clean. I make music. I read. I write. I cook.
And sometimes, I’m a slug who indulges in corn-based chip products, buttered popcorn, and an icy-cold glass of Prosecco. I might also occasionally sip on a glass of Ouzo and eat whipped cream. (And yes, that 95% listed so brazenly above is accurate; I did the math because I’m THAT dorky.) two I haven’t always had excellent habits. From grade school to the day I graduated from college, I was a chubby nerd and an easy target. My parents were both exceptionally good cooks — my dad owned a restaurant and my mom won almost every cooking contest she entered. I was a chubby kid because I really liked food…. 8
