Edible oils are oils which are suitable for human consumption and are derived from plants, animals or synthetic fat. They are usually used for frying, baking, flavoring, food preparation, flavoring such as salad dressings or bread dips. These oils provide nutrients to the diet being consumed as they are the predominant source of energy for any food as well as contribute towards making the food palatable. Processed oil if used in cooking can cause artery diseases and hypertension among others, whereas edible oils are extremely healthy for food as well as add flavor to the food.
