Classes are held in fully-equipped band and choral studios, and soundproof practice rooms are available. At Palm Beach State, both vocal and instrumental students have ample opportunities to perform before community audiences—in chamber and jazz ensembles, concerts, and with the College’s nationally recognized vocal group, “The Troubadours.” In addition to several student recitals, a typical semester features lecturerecitals by faculty and local music professionals. The College boasts four theatres, ranging from the intimate Stage West to the Duncan, Eissey and Dolly Hand theatres, plus an outdoor amphitheater—each a showcase for professional and College productions. Outside the classroom, the Palm Beach State College Players bring together students who have an interest in theatre. In addition, each year students compete in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, a national theatre program involving more than 600 colleges and universities nationwide.
