Graduation Distinctions
Students can choose a combination of honors classes and honors projects. Both options offer amazing learning opportunities.
Honors students can travel to and present research at national, regional and state honors conferences at the College’s expense. Students often do not get these opportunities until graduate school, so you will be a step ahead of the rest. Honors students also are encouraged to participate in study abroad programs periodically offered by the College to such places as Belize and England.
As an honors graduate, you will wear a gold medallion at commencement, receive recognition in the commencement bulletin and receive a gold embossed seal on your diploma. Your transcript also will indicate your academic commitment and achievement with an honors notation.
Honors Diploma
Research Galore You will have hands-on research opportunities that you may not get as a university undergraduate. In addition, as an honors student, you can publish your research articles in the College’s online peer-reviewed research journal, Sabiduría.
HONORS CLASSES are interactive, thoughtprovoking, and limited to 15 students. They are taught by some of the College’s most innovative and distinguished faculty who inspire students to think outside of the box. Honors classes are the perfect environment to express your creativity and reach your highest potential.
HONORS PROJECTS allow you to earn honors credit in non-honors classes. With instructor permission, you can extend your learning through a research paper or project beyond the course requirements. Honors projects encourage independent thinking and allow you to tailor your honors experience to your individual interests.
