volcano was recently discovered in Palm Coast’s Town Center, and it has begun to spew forth lava. Locals aren’t worried, though. “I usually surf during hurricanes,” said Willy Servive. “And I just bought this lava-resistant suit.” His girlfriend, Beth R. Trump doesn’t trust Clinton but thinks it would be funny if a former president was VP. GEOFFREY TOOPIN SENIOR REPORTER

In an unprecedented act of reaching across the aisle, Donald J. Trump announced yesterday that he has selected Bill Clinton as his vice president as he enters the last several months of the campaign. “My adviser, who is now fired, told me, ‘Bill Clinton is Hillary’s husband,’” Trump said at a Flagler County protest. “I told him, ‘Look, I love Bill Clinton. I love Bill Clinton. I probably love him more than Hillary does. She won’t mind if I borrow him for four years. Well, let’s face it — eight years.” Trump said he thinks Bill is a winner, and he could come in handy if any tough policy questions arise that don’t involve forcing people to build walls. Bill Clinton said, “I look forward to making America great again with The Donald.” He then put on a red baseball cap to prove it. At a campaign rally in New York, Hillary Clinton said she was pleased with her husband’s decision. “This should divert the media’s attention away from my emails for a few hours,” she said. At a later interview, Trump added, “I’m really rich.” SEE TRUMP PAGE 2A

The family has purchased a 5-foot leash to take Frank for walks in the neighborhood. “It’s a short leash,” Wilson said. “But it’s still a good idea to stay
